Strictly 2017 Celebs are being announced...

First one confirmed is Mollie King (the blonde one from The Saturday's)

Not sure when the next one will be announced, just hope it's not like last year where they dragged it out for weeks!

The thing is though, the genuine A-listers are busy working so wouldn't do the show. We're never going to see the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch or one of One Direction on the show.

yeah, precisely. I was just meaning that people are saying that this year's ones aren't very famous, but that is always the case.

And in any case, everyone who's been announced so far actually are quite famous.
Ruth is on the highest rating daytime TV show; Simon on high rating and v popular Sunday show; Joe is on hugely popular BBC1 drama; Susan hosts a BBC daytime quiz and appears regularly on panel shows, plus hosts a CBBC quiz too; Aston was in a massive boy band; Richard was in a massive band and has a really interesting story; Gemma is in a v popular soap and previously on Hollyoaks.

OMG I've just looked at a few previous years' contestants and had forgotten just how un-famous a lot of them actually have been Shock

Oh I don't know, give it a year or 2 and there will be at least one of 1D on the show and probably in the jungle.

Yes we had CBB on for a bit last night. I was a bit bewildered by it TBH. I genuinely don't know who people are except for Sarah Harding and Helen Lederer.

They're never terribly famous before doing Strictly. It is a bit like the Cambridge Corn Exchange - they do it on the way up or on the way down to the peak of fame.

I'm very angry about how they've ruined celeb bb and now get me out of here with reality nitwits. They are trained to play up to the cameras and make drama out of nothing.

At least strictly have not gone down that road thankfully. Judy Murray was the most iffy. And she turned out to have value.

I loved Judy. She came across really well. That's the beauty of the show - you don't really know how well they'll do or how well they'll come across until they've started. So you end up with the joys of Jay and Judy (at both ends of the dancing spectrum) and the lows of Lulu and Anastacia in terms of divadom.

Introductions are usually around the first week in September. Then a couple of weeks off for rehearsals and we're back on every week right up til Christmas. Can't wait either! Exciting!
