First one confirmed is Mollie King (the blonde one from The Saturday's)

Not sure when the next one will be announced, just hope it's not like last year where they dragged it out for weeks!

I've just seen that Len Goodman is hosting a new 6-part game show on Saturday called Partners in Rhyme?? Sounds an odd departure from the world of dance.

soupforbrains · 17/08/2017 14:26

I've got a bit lost... can someone do a recap of everyone we know so far??

scrabbler3 · 17/08/2017 14:38

Usain Bolt would be phenomenal. SCD's ratings are brilliant but they'd get even better.

Mo Farah would be great but he's training for road races. Maybe in a couple of years' time....

Which footballers have retired recently? One of Sky's Soccer Saturday crowd would be a laugh I reckon.

CaveMum · 17/08/2017 14:42

Nine so far:

Mollie King - from girl band The Saturdays
The Rev Richard Coles - former keyboard player in The Communards turned vicar
Davood Ghadami - actor in Eastenders
Ruth Langsford - host of This Morning
Gemma Atkinson - actress and model. Appeared in Hollyoaks, Casualty and Emmerdale
Simon Rimmer - chef and co-presenter of Sunday Brunch
Aston Merrygold - formerly of boyband JLS
Susan Calman - comedian
Joe McFadden - actor in Holly City

Oh and Cazzie I'd noticed that about Len too. I had thought he was stepping down to take life a bit easier, but if he's doing other things perhaps he's become disillusioned with the show?

^ it's odd, isn't it? DH told me he was standing in for Paul O'Grady on the radio too? He gets more money for DWTS and opted out of that for one series. Said flying back and forth was too tiring. Understandable.
He did that trying new food show too, can't remember what it was called.
Maybe he is just keeping busy before flying back to the States as DWTS 25th series (series not season I'm not AmericanWink) starts on the 18th September and as far as I know he will still be with Bruno judging that.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 17/08/2017 15:26

If it isn't live they'll be able to record it over 2/3 days, so perhaps it's less tiring than doing strictly and ITT for a long run?

GaryNumanIsOlderThanGaryOldman · 17/08/2017 15:41

I went to a game show recording Smile and agree, prerecords can be done and dusted very quickly, I guess it's why rather than how as he doesn't need the money or the celebrity. Maybe he just doesn't want to keep still (!) likes being busy rather than retiring but health-wise long haul flying takes its toll. I love DWTS too (no shame!) but don't believe he'd be >disillusioned with SCD over DWTS Grin Erm...teenage mutant ninja turtle jive? supermario freestyle? contempo circus skills?
I think his agent played hardball between the two, he always claimed SCD was his first love, left DWTS for a season and they offered him more money over the pond as a result. The compromise would have been him only judging DWTS in the Spring and letting someone else do the Autumn (not Fall, I'm not American! Wink) but I guess audiences like continuity.

troodiedoo · 17/08/2017 16:46

That advert for partners in rhyme looks dire. Another program where they've thought of the title before the actual content. Hmm

Thanks for the recap!

Imagine Usain dancing with Oti, that would be amazing

stripeknee · 17/08/2017 17:09

Becky James a GB track cyclist has announced her retirement today, i wonder if she could be a contestant ?

soupforbrains · 17/08/2017 18:09

Thanks Cavemum

What a lovely bunch they seem this year. For me I think I know more of this lot than I usually do. I'm a HUGE fan of Rev Rich and also Susan and they should be great fun too both so very funny.

I can't place Davood, wo does he play in eastenders?

SpanishFly · 17/08/2017 21:57

He plays Kush 😍😍

soupforbrains · 17/08/2017 22:21

Ooooohhhhhhhh in that case I definitely DO know who he is Grin Wink Blush

SpanishFly · 17/08/2017 23:07

😂😂😂😋😋😋😋😋😋😚😚😚😚

Ceto · 17/08/2017 23:10

Am I right in thinking Susan Calman has done ITT before?

soupforbrains · 17/08/2017 23:40

What is this ITT everyone keeps speaking of???

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 17/08/2017 23:53

'It Takes Two', the 6.30pm weekday show with Zoë Ball.

CazzieCatsRock · 18/08/2017 00:18

Absolutely love Zoe Ball and think she's perfect for the companion show It Takes Two! She was also fab on Strictly when the incredible Ian Waite transformed her from Ladette to Lady on the dance floor! They were superb to watch.

soupforbrains · 18/08/2017 00:21

Ahhhhhh durrr stupid thing is I'm pretty sure I knew that earlier today. It's clearly time for bed! Wonder who tomorrow will bring.

ForalltheSaints · 18/08/2017 06:54

Z list so far then.

TheDrsDocMartens · 18/08/2017 06:55

No bbc breakfast people so far?

mirage937 · 18/08/2017 07:10

Only 6 left, seem a lot of the earlier rumoured list won't be on then ! I'm guessing at least one sports person to come soon

SpanishFly · 18/08/2017 07:46

Yes we need a sportsperson and someone political/newsreader. Still dont get why they've announced one/two per day then 48 hours before announcing the next one.

SpanishFly · 18/08/2017 07:47

Saints they're always z-listers. And when they do get someone "big", they turn out to be hugely irritating and don't last beyond a few weeks.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 18/08/2017 07:52

Well, yes - look at Will Young. The biggest name last year (depending on how you regarded Ed Balls....) and the biggest disaster as well.

For some very starry slebs, their ego can't handle the criticism.
