Wow Sass you're tall. You'd get Brendan, Aljaz or Anton then? Or AJ if they were taking the piss. Brendan apparently tweeted he moved ahead of time for Charlotte because it was obvious he'd get her from their heights and not because he knew already, oh no. I wanted to tweet LULU! Brenda LULU! but I have restraint and am not on twitter.
I am 5'4 barefoot but haven't worn heels in two decades. I could manage a little heel but am unsteady with size 8 feet as it is. If I were forced to choose I'd pick Gorka because I have a whole medley of Spanish songs I'd force him to dance to.

5'10" so they're high heels, not that have worn them for a while. I guess am usually 6' in everyday shoes! Also size 8 feet...might not be able to swap the sparkly frocks Gorge but we could borrow each other's sparkly shoes

Wow this thread is 'scorching' I've never disliked Kevin and I reckon him and Susan 'll be great together.

Where ballet is so different to Latin and jive and modern dance is the use of the 'centre' and hips, normal ballet is generally about the extremities!

I haven't made my mind up about Shirley yet, will wait for the judging before I do. I wasn't sure about marking herself 11 in comparison to Craig's 10 in strictness.

Thanks for the replies about Kevin. I can't for the life of me see what's so offensive about him. I wondered whether he was technically inept, but from the replies that doesn't seem to be it.

cowgirls I reckon because he's sort of pleasant, a bit geeky there's not much to criticise about him, I like Kevin he seems a nice boy.

I'm with a pp who said Jonnie, Susan, Gemma. Although production probably want an Aston vs Alexandra narrative - and these two will be protected by high scores from the judges throughout the comp - I think they'll be knocked out to everyone's outrage. I'll stick Ruth up there too, not because she'll dazzle but she+Anton fanbase = large number of votes.
Now watch them all be early boots!

Gorge what was the deal with Lulu and Brendan? I know the relationship deteriorated fairly quickly but were they not pleased at the beginning? (It is one of those 'things' that is referred to constantly on Digital Spy/Monkseal but I don't understand ) I have watched every series and I hadn't noticed anything at the time but I am not the most observant

Mmm joining in with the Gorka love - he is def my favourite pro in terms of looks

I also think they have played a blinder with Kevin and Susan. Clearly they could not give Kevin another 'ringer' so instead, they give him someone who is a novice/unknown quantity but who is totally lovely and the public will absolutely fall in love with Susan and her 'journey' and therefore potentially get her to the final (hence still allowing Kevin the glory of getting to the final 5 consecutive times). And even better, he can do it this time with the plaudits for how he has managed Susan. Win-win all round I think.

She didn't come across as well as Gemma. (DH says I am biased against posh accents but forgets I liked Katie. Plus Gemma's Chelsea Healey mark II does nothing for me personally but sociolinguistics means we warm to regional > than RP allegedly).Aljaz is popular so if Gemma is too, then you have twice the vote there. Jonnie and Oti unless he really cannot dance will go far: she is both popular and will still have some fans wanting justice for her losing last series . He is easy on the eye, self-deprecating and will get some votes based on the fact it is going to be twice as hard for him for waltz but his QS will be awesome).
First out Simon, Charlotte, Brian. Sadly. I seem to be the only one who likes Brian.

Roman he said he knew he would be with Charlotte due to height but they put him with Lulu previously which means that sometimes height has feck all to do with it, given their height difference was so extreme. She was very disappointed, markedly so at the launch (screamed in a bad way and he hauled her up the stairs over his shoulder caveman-stylee).
She wanted Pasha. She also thought she'd be good due to comic relief performance being lauded. She hated the way Brendan taught her, forgot the whole routine week one, was very diva, made it all about her (see it takes two interviews).
Big personality clash. Most tellingly/unforgivably when knocked out she danced by herself pretty much. Even I had sympathy for Brendan after that. He admitted on Loose Women she was his least favourite contestant.
Whilst Brendan does not do great with duffers (although got on with and was nice to and stayed friends with Ronnie Wood's ex) he usually can bring something out. Bloody Lulu was the exception.

But the fabulous Ore deserved to win Gorgeous I was so pleased that he did, he's lovely in all ways. The dance they did just now was sooo good!

I saw Brendan with Charlotte on breakfast telly when I thought oh, they might put them together (newsreader 2 after Kerplunsky). But I am not sure whether he will do well with her which is a shame, he hasn't had a Sophie for a while now.
He's still got it but has not had the best of luck: those on paper who should have been good (cyclist one and Kirsty G) were stiff. I loved a lot of his choreo with Sunetra but then many were saying he was dialling it in/had checked out/had put on weight (him and Pash have been judged on weight before but both seem back on form now). Him and Sunetra had conflicts because Holby required so many hours and he wants someone who gives it their all. Given Charlotte is doing mornings, has a 2 year old and training on top, she deserves a vote from me for that alone.
I was surprised that Gorka and Gio weren't put with Mollie or Gemma though, Gio must be too short(?) as the four singletons. Perhaps producers are finally wising up re showmances.

ppeatfruit I would have voted for Ore. I like Oti but on the German show she has come 6th and first boot, her choreo with Danny was a huge improvement (I loved Misty Blue). Overall, Danny was the better dancer but I probably rewatched more of Ore's routines: he performed better on the night. But there are definitely fans out there who believe Otiwuzrobbed and will be rooting for her this series. I home Jonnie ends up doing well. Aliona had two decent back to back in Matt and Harry, didn't she?

Lulu is a bit of an egomaniac, I heard her interviewed about other people having plastic surgery and she said seriously "I'll never get old". She might have a messiah complex! Funnily the last time I saw her I noticed she certainly HAS had PS! She's getting old!! Oh dear like all of us!

I like Oti but she's a pro ! I can't remember who her partner was, but he wasn't Ore!

I think I said upthread that if Debbie could lose the locked ballet knees I suspect she will be a surprise to people. It is a very different way of dancing and I'm thinking of Helen George who was a fab dancer but got marked down for her leg action due to the locked knees technical

Kevin hasn't had a duff dancer yet. Most pros get a mix of the naturally talented and the less able but he seems to have had a run of totally trained capable partners which doesn't always get the sympathy vote as much as a pairing such as Anton and Ann (or Kristina and John Sargent)

I'm sticking to the Rev / Simon Rimmer / Gemma
they all seem very nice, give it a go type. I like to support the ones who have to really work at getting reasonable
I did think Gemma looked a bit clumpy in the showdance, and the Rev , just joyful , but doesn't look too co-ordinated - Simon . mmm will see :)

Cotswold he's got Susan this time, she's nice but I'm not holding out much hope for her dancing! I'm prepared to be mistaken!

Simon looked better in rehearsals than the performance to me. I have high hopes for the Rev just because I like him and the lovely Debbie. DD likes Simon and Susan.
