Strictly 2017 Celebs are being announced...

First one confirmed is Mollie King (the blonde one from The Saturday's)

Not sure when the next one will be announced, just hope it's not like last year where they dragged it out for weeks!

I know them all except Gemma and Davood.

I am so fed up with people on the Strictly facebook page moaning about them not being real celebs and keep posting "who" or "never heard of them".

I sometimes think people feel it's a competition to see how many they don't know as it proves they don't watch much tv. When I have posted that I know most of them people come back with "well you must spend your life watching tv".

I have never watched Holby in my life and yet I know who Joe McFadden is. I don't watch This Morning or Loose Women but know who Ruth Langsford is.

Everyone's idea of a well known celeb is different anyway. Soap watchers will know the actors in them. Sports fans will know sports people. I know plenty of tennis players, athletes, gymnasts and F1 drivers but hardly any football players.

I had never heard of Robbie Savage before Strictly nor Austin Healey or the welsh boxer.

To me it doesn't really matter if I know them or not as we get to know them over the weeks and I love seeing them learn to dance. I had never heard of Jay and yet know he is my all time favourite contestant. I hated the thought of Judy Murray but ended up loving her even if she couldn't dance. I was happy at Anastacia as I was a fan but ended up not liking her at all.

Brian Conley has done West End in the past, hasn't he? Noone announced so far has compelled me to watch.

I think Sir Bruce had been sadly on the way out for a while. He was supposed to come back to do the Children in Need and Christmas Specials but never did.

Those people who say they expect bigger celebs on SCD need a reality check. Which big name star do they think would agree to it? Harry Styles? Ed Sheeran? One of the Hemsworths? Tom Hardy? Metro Streep? Dame Judi Dench?
No only those who aren't not well known or whose career needs a boost will come on, either for the money, to raise their public profile or to change public perceptions of them. Why would a big star?

I actually love not really knowing the celebs before they start then getting to know them week by week. By the end of the series i feel like i know them all well.

RIP Brucie. You were one of a kind. You were part of my early life with the Generation Game and we used to all watch it as a family. You will be missed.

That's the magic of strictly, I'm rooting for people I don't know and to be honest often disappointed by the behaviour of those I did like before the show started!

I do like getting to 'know' previous unheard of celebs (chap last year, blue eyes, wuz robbed). And will no doubt schedule my social life around it this year too! Anyway ..anyone else been hearing this and thinking SCD. Samba. Shadow rolls?

Yeah I've been watching it for so many years, I know that it doesn't really matter if I've heard of them before it starts, as soon as it gets going you totally understand why people were invited to be on it and you get to know them. People you've heard of before can be a disappointment, looking at you lulu and will young!

Thanks CaveMum! Googled and still no idea but then no tv on in our house in the morning, radio only, so prob in a minority and am sure I will learn more about her when the shows start....not long to go now ....exciting!
