First one confirmed is Mollie King (the blonde one from The Saturday's)

Not sure when the next one will be announced, just hope it's not like last year where they dragged it out for weeks!

Sassy that is what DH and I were saying a couple of weeks ago, when we worked it out that he would be in it but don't know how to go about making bets

Never made a bet before in betting shop

(I should have done one in 2012 when I guessed beforehand that Mr Bean was going to be in opening ceremony but again have no idea how to do it)

I don't really have a clue either tbh....eons ago I went in and did something on the Grand National when I was a student but not sure how.... I guess you go in, say you want to put some money on him being in the line-up and ask for their odds? If you're going to do it though best google so you know what to say! I would stick a bet on him to be in it and a bet on him reaching the final....because if he did you could make some proper money Grin

Kanga I work in horse racing so know a bit about placing bets Wink

If you want to bet on someone being announced, just go into a betting shop and say "What odds will you give me on X being in the Strictly line up?" The cashier will probably have to check on their computer or even phone through to a senior manager and then they will say, for example, "We'll give you 10/1" you then say whether or not you accept and Place your bet.

Simples!

Every single year DD and I get a bit grumpy and say "Well, that's it, we're not really going to watch it this year - who are these people anyway??" EVERY SINGLE YEAR.

Obvs we watch the first week, you know, just to confirm they are nobodies and we don't care. Then we perk up a bit when they say its going to be film week... and obviously we have to watch Halloween... which takes us through to Blackpool. By which stage we are so hideously over-engaged its almost embarrassing.

Last year in Week 1 DD and I looked Danny Mac up and down and were "oh, yeah, token HollyOaks cheesy looking actor, pah". By about Week 6 we were totally smitten. I think I actually wept glitter when he did not win.

Its actually a bit like Bake Off, by the last rounds you have huge personal investment in Nadiya and Selassi and Brendan etc and these are people you've never seen before. I just don't think you need to know in SCD "who" the contestants are at the beginning.

I've been thinking it might be Nick Clegg for a while too. We don't have a politician/newsreader sort yet this year. I would love to see him do it. He's always seemed pretty much up for anything. And I think he'd be quite good, at least at the ballroom... perhaps less so at the Latin....

Jonnie Peacock should have been with Natalie, as she already had experience training Cassidy dammit.
If he's anything like Amy Purdy (double amputee) he'll be fine with Latin but ballroom especially waltz will be a challenge (QS not so much). I hope he does well.
I also hope Debbie McGee has a decent run. She deserves it. Paul passed away last March and there were thoughts of her doing it last year iirc but it was too soon. I'm rooting for a lot of them this year in fact.
