SPOILERS ALERT

THIS THREAD IS FOR DISCUSSION OF SEASON 7, EPISODE 2 "STORMBORN"

Come and discuss the second episode in the penultimate series, airing July 24th at 2am UK time! Don't read the thread if you want to avoid finding out what happens in Season 7 but also Seasons 1-6

HBO description of the episode: "Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) receives an unexpected visitor. Jon (Kit Harington) faces a revolt. Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) plans the conquest of Westeros."

Please avoid discussing leaks and production details for Seasons 7 and 8 but speculate away on what we have learnt from the new episode and what it might mean for the rest of the Season and the ultimate winner(s) of the Game of Thrones Smile

That didn't disappoint, did it?

MyOtherProfile · 24/07/2017 05:31

How was it? Can't watch til this aft. And more importantly was there much hound?!

And I just remembered to ask about throne cast that people talked about last week... where can i see that please?

ChaircatMiaow · 24/07/2017 06:23

Wow! It has all really taken off, hasn't it? The Arya scene made me all sniffly. And what an ending...

Middleoftheroad · 24/07/2017 06:36

There was no Hound action but there was action!

I'm getting a really bad feeling about Sansa now.

Frustrated that this will be another time when Stark siblings will just miss each other when Arya arrives. And what will she arrive to while Jon's away?

Sam is the hero. Theon....I do wonder where this is leading. Surely he will eventually kill Euron? What is Theon's greater purpose? Whoever described Euron as Lord Flasheart was spot on. More Captain Hook today.

I do love the pace. Just seen next week's trailer and finally, Dany gets THE visitor in Dragonstone.

Middleoftheroad · 24/07/2017 06:52

Emergency Awesome's top 10 moments.

AdalindSchade · 24/07/2017 06:57

No hound this week

AdalindSchade · 24/07/2017 07:08

What do we think, was that nymeria?

Middleoftheroad · 24/07/2017 08:00

Yes...but she's changed. That's how I read Arya's comment.

TuckingFaxman · 24/07/2017 08:57

Is Littlefinger Irish again now? I love GOT but some of the accents really annoy me. Liam Cunnnigham pretending to be a stranger to the north whilst also having a northern accent being one of my main gripes.

Hopefully that's the end of all the Sand Snakes. They were very annoying.

AryaUnderfoot · 24/07/2017 09:03

Jaime Lannister: "I don't like my sister". WTF?

Did they cut off his balls along with his sword-hand?

He has turned into such a wet character.

AryaUnderfoot · 24/07/2017 09:05

Presumably there's no warging with any Stark other than Bran in the show. It's a shame - it was always a really important part of their stories.

AryaUnderfoot · 24/07/2017 09:09

I love the idea that Daenerys would need Missandei to tell her the gender rules of High Valyrian. Hmm

TuckingFaxman · 24/07/2017 09:10

I thought Jaime had said 'you don't like my sister'? Maybe I am wrong.

AdalindSchade · 24/07/2017 09:18

He said 'you don't like my sister'

Melisandre pretty much confirmed that Jon and daenarys will be the saviours together. Please not by getting married.

Jaime isn't keen on Cersei any more but what choice does he have? He could defect to Daenarys and Tyrion but that would leave Cersei completely alone. She's a mad cunt but they are twins and lovers (erk) and he can't abandon her.

What were Yara and ellaria doing out on the sea? I thought they agreed the unsullied were going to capture casterly rock, I couldn't work out why they had set off with the fleet too?

AryaUnderfoot · 24/07/2017 09:21

Oops - must have misheard it.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 24/07/2017 09:21

Just caught up. Very taken with the edit that took us straight from Sam's work on Ser Jorah to the pie! I found I had something in my eye when the wolves arrived. What did Arya say at the end of that scene? I couldn't quite make it out.

Now off to see if there's a trailer for next week...

AryaUnderfoot · 24/07/2017 09:24

Ellaria and Yara were heading to Dorne to 'summon' the Dornish forces to Dany's aid.

Of course, all the Dornish houses are going to stand behind a bastard paramour who killed the Prince of Dorne, his heir and his betrothed. That's one plot-hole that they never filled in.

Wobblebeans · 24/07/2017 09:24

Arya said "it's not you". I think she was getting at the fact that it's not the 'Nymeria' that she knew years ago, and that she has her own life now.
There's a trailer for episode 3 on the app 'winter is coming'

AryaUnderfoot · 24/07/2017 09:30

Varys was great. I didn't like Dany's threat to burn him - it doesn't put her in a very good light.

I'm rapidly going off Olenna. She used to be one of my favourites.

SootSprite · 24/07/2017 09:51

Fucking Theon. What a cunt.

Figgygal · 24/07/2017 09:52

Oooooh that was good!!

So ellaria and remaining daughter are to be presented to Cersei next week I imagine as well as Yara. I wasn't surprised by Theon he's always been a coward after all. Maybe gendry can pick him up in his row boat and give him a lift back to dragon stone

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 24/07/2017 10:12

He was braver before Ramsay got hold of him. He is a coward now but he has some cause. I think in the end he will redeem himself. Trailer is on YouTube. Can we discuss it on this thread?

nigelsbigface · 24/07/2017 10:29

Oh, I was hoping Arya's 'that not you' to the wolf meant that actually that was a puppy of Nymeria's or something. In fairness I watched it at 6am this morning so I can see now that was early morning wishful thinking :(.
Have we even seen Ghost yet?

I love the Wolves, can you tell? Smile

I don't understand where Euron got all those boats from?

BeyondDrinksAndKnowsThings · 24/07/2017 10:32

So we have six episodes left where Theon is gonna sneak in somehow, redeem himself, kill Euron/Flashheart, save Yara/Asha, take over the iron fleet and save the day.

Better crack on Grin

BeyondDrinksAndKnowsThings · 24/07/2017 10:33

Shock you're right figgy - gendry is SO going to row past and save him!!
