SPOILERS ALERT

THIS THREAD IS FOR DISCUSSION OF SEASON 7, EPISODE 2 "STORMBORN"

Come and discuss the second episode in the penultimate series, airing July 24th at 2am UK time! Don't read the thread if you want to avoid finding out what happens in Season 7 but also Seasons 1-6

HBO description of the episode: "Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) receives an unexpected visitor. Jon (Kit Harington) faces a revolt. Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) plans the conquest of Westeros."

Please avoid discussing leaks and production details for Seasons 7 and 8 but speculate away on what we have learnt from the new episode and what it might mean for the rest of the Season and the ultimate winner(s) of the Game of Thrones Smile

@BeyondDrinksAndKnowsThings I was so hoping for a zombie dragon too, gutted when it was just a sharp stick to the head Hmm

ABCFamily · 24/07/2017 21:26

Damn it, Jon! At least give Sansa a heads up before publicly announcing that you’re going to be leaving her in charge of your bannermen, a wildling horde, and that creepy uncle (by marriage) who wants to get into her knickers. Dick move, Jon. Dick move.

Oh, and while we're on the subject, take Little Finger with you as a gift for Dany’s dragons or something. The slimy bastard is obviously plotting something, and you’re giving him free rein at Winterfell. Seriously, even The Vale won't will mind too much if he has an ‘unfortunate accident’ on the way to Dragonstone. Wink

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 24/07/2017 21:28

Jon and Sansa really need to work on their communication.

WinifredAtwellsOtherPiano · 24/07/2017 21:28

Why would Jon need to warn Sansa. She absolutely knows and he probably trusts her to know. But if I were Jon I'd have buttonholed Brienne before I left and set her on If Littlefinger Lays A Hand On My Sister He Gets To Ask Jamie For Advice On Prosthetics duty.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 24/07/2017 21:30

When Hot Pie told Arya they were both survivors I was like that's it, they both die.

Mustang27 · 24/07/2017 21:36

Messandei has a cracking bod though, I don't blame them for getting her naked and I do miss all the nakedness of the first seasons. I always found them hilarious and a way to trick people into watching so they then get hooked on the story. Didn't work on my oh he just watched for the boobies lol.

I think Theon jumped as he knew it meant death for both him and Yara if he took on Euron so he jumped as that meant he could maybe get him later but I'm not entirely sure he thought Yara would be spared for awhile more that he could take revenge?!? Right please tell me he is not just an arse.

Cried at the Arya/Nymeria scene I'm preggers though so that's my excuse.

The person asking about throncast it's on catchup and it's brilliant, funny and very cathartic imo lol. It's also on after tonight's airing.

DeathByMascara · 24/07/2017 21:38

I forget the impact the shocks have on me until I watch a new episode. Am properly disturbed by that battle scene! Fucking Theon.

Greyworm & Missandei's sex scene was graphic even by game of thrones standards!

Mustang27 · 24/07/2017 21:40

Hotpie was awesome. I'm also with you Winifred Jon should have told Brienne to chop the bastards fingers off if he went anywhere near Sansa.

I think Arya might have to save Sansa though.

AryaUnderfoot · 24/07/2017 21:42

Sansa is already well aware of Littlefinger's designs on her.

OlennasWimple · 24/07/2017 21:44

I think Brienne is permanently on "watching Sansa's back" duty, including when Littlefinger is around

I feel like this series is paying attention to characters' histories, in a mostly satisfying way.

I'd like to know what equipment Greyworm has, or whether he's like an Action Man, but I'm certainly not going to go hunting across the internet to find out whether that's been mentioned.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 24/07/2017 21:51

Thank fuck we're shot of the Sand Snakes - pointless buggers.

I want Brienne to finish off Littlefinger but DH has his money on Sansa.

Loved the Nymeria bit - maybe she will do for Littlefinger?

Sitting here waiting for Thronecast now...

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 24/07/2017 22:04

www.google.co.uk/amp/www.telegraph.co.uk/tv/0/game-thrones-confused-viewers-search-meaning-eunuch-facts-sex/amp/ fixed that for you, Westley.

ElspethFlashman · 24/07/2017 22:05

I have to say whilst I was FFing the sex scene I was cringing for the actors who must be so embarrassed. I mean his face was right down there! I was clutching my pearls a bit at having to do that in your normal working day. Blush

BeyondDrinksAndKnowsThings · 24/07/2017 22:07

I was wondering the limits of where regular acting turned into porn during that scene! We know he doesn't have a cock, you don't have to spell it out!!

TheSecondOfHerName · 24/07/2017 22:08

I thought the sand snakes would have been more than a match for Euron, although I guess he surprised them.

Sam's 'treatment' might have had a chance at working when Jorah noticed the first lesion, but I can't see what good it'll do now.

I was also getting Unseen University vibes from the library.

ElenaGreco123 · 24/07/2017 22:16

Theon knew that Asha would not be killed. She is valuable for Euron as a marriagable princess, but not too valuable to be a plausible heir, so she is pretty safe. All the women in Got has shitty husbands, so I think he thought Asha would live to fight another day. While Theon would have been killed on sight.

WeDoNotSow · 24/07/2017 22:17

I don't think that's the last of seeing Nymeria.
I did n't like tyrions 'Jon snow, he's a good man ' bit.
It was a bit like when you've planned to 'accidentally' bill into someone. 'Jon? Jon Snow? Well, I never fancy seeing you here.
You know what i mean

WeDoNotSow · 24/07/2017 22:17

*bump, not bill

ElenaGreco123 · 24/07/2017 22:18

Sorry, Yara in the show, not Asha in the book.

ClashCityRocker · 24/07/2017 22:23

I thought grey worm did have a cock in the series? In the book they don't but he's already shagged Missandri hasn't he? And there was a conversation about how they only chop off one ball.

Either that or it was a bloody weird dream.

I liked the episode. The dialogue seems to have picked up, apart from Jaime who I've always thought was a bit clunky.

The wolf scene was a bit cheesy too.

I'm a sucker for a good battle scene and actually thought theon was sensible - he's not a strong fighter and euron would have had him for breakfast.

RJnomore1 · 24/07/2017 22:25

The treatment was for advanced cases though.

I genuinely think theon did the only thing he possibly could. Euron would have cut her throat and gone for him. Hes got a fighting chance now and she's still alive for the moment.

Yara herself disappointed me, she seemed stunned by the whole thing.

nigelsbigface · 24/07/2017 22:25

That's what I thought too clash

WeDoNotSow · 24/07/2017 22:25

I thought it was know that unsullied were cut 'root and stem'
Or maybe I'm thinking of Varys?
Or did Danny use the phrase pillar and stones.
Ygritte definitely called them stones.
Too many euphemisms

ClashCityRocker · 24/07/2017 22:27

And slightly irritated about how apparently blatantly obvious the cure for grey scale is...

No cure... No cure... No cure.... Oh wait, in the biggest library in the world intrepid young Sam manages to dig it out....and all you have to do is cut out the infection and stick some ointment on it! But it's banned because it's too inconvenient.

Fuck me Freddy, that's nearly as big a revelation as that dragonglass might be available in abundance o dragonstone...

Are the maesters a bit shit or something?
