Is anyone watching this? The second landlord with his disgustingly extravagant lifestyle is making me so angry. The communal areas in his flats are horrific.

Just caught up and I agree that mother was bizarre, struck me as one of those interfering overbearing people. Her daughter's an adult, yes she will have to pay rent and will have debt if she chooses to go to university. I purposely chose a university where living costs were lower. It wasn't the best university I was accepted into but I felt saving money on accomodation was more sensible. I paid £250 a month for a room seven years ago.

Also it incredibly obvious that in this case it's the letting agent being a dick and not bothering telling the landlord the job was broken just continually sending electricians to the property and presumably charging the landlord.

I never really know who to believe thigh when landlords say they've not been told. We had this problem at at our last house. In my experience landlords and estate agents are both awful

In my experience letting agents don't give a shit once they have your money. If it's not in their interest they won't bother passing on any information

Problems would be solved better if LL and renter spoke to each other

I liked Tilly a lot, and thought she seemed a very mature girl. And when her mum spoke to the landlord (Ben?) I thought good for her! He came across initially as a nice guy, but he was very vague and ineffectual, kept trying to pass the buck and saying it was all down to the letting agents. He was just being disingenuous. Obviously they were not doing their job properly (hope he's sacked them) but ultimately the responsibility is his. Although he apparently prefers to spend his time 'doing something more productive' - like dancing lessons presumably!

Glad stuff was sorted in the end, but I bet it wouldn't have been if he hadn't have been on TV. And what was all that nonsense about not funding his kids at uni? He clearly must have, or how could his daughter have bought a flat 'up north' with her student loan money! Crass of him to boast about it to the mother of one of the students he's ripping off. I liked him initially, but he turned out to be a bit of a prick.

Then the Polish guy with the house with dangerous stairs and garden and mould so bad it was giving the tenant's toddler a serious skin infection - awful.

It was interesting there was several weeks gap before this episode - do you think one of these two charming landlords was having seconds thoughts about being shown in a bad light, and were trying to stop the BBC showing the episode? I wonder which one?

I like her as well.

so predictable and not much of a programme. Tenant complains about state of place and landlord puts it right doing what they should be doing anyway.
