Is anyone watching this? The second landlord with his disgustingly extravagant lifestyle is making me so angry. The communal areas in his flats are horrific.

Why does the student landlord have headphones round his neck?

fairgame84 · 30/08/2017 21:45

Love the little girl, she's totally shaming her useless LL Dad Grin

dillite · 30/08/2017 21:46

Because he is down with the kids What.

Because according to landlords mould is always the tenants fault and will disappear if they keep their heating on 24 hours a day and windows open 365 days a year.

dillite · 30/08/2017 21:46

Ewwwwww butt crack!

nancy75 · 30/08/2017 21:50

Never seen this programme before - I don't believe the guy with the student lets, there no way the agents put in a new boiler without getting in touch with him - he is blaming the agent for everything but the buildings belong to him.
This Paul guy is a grade 1 prick

millsbynight · 30/08/2017 21:50

These landlords are making me sick!! AngryAngryAngry

dillite · 30/08/2017 21:51

No wonder he is single.

nancy75 · 30/08/2017 21:51

Does Paul not understand that the damage is being done to his property? It's in his interest to get it sorted out

dillite · 30/08/2017 21:56

Even when fixing the place he wanted it to be as cheap as possible. What a surprise.

nancy75 · 30/08/2017 21:57

I bet he puts the rent up now

worcestersauce29 · 30/08/2017 21:58

landscaped gardens for Tilly ???? wow

millsbynight · 30/08/2017 21:58

I'm not buying this bullshit happy happy uplifting music ending. These houses should have been habitable from the start.

Whatshouldmyusernamebe · 30/08/2017 21:59

I agree mills.

I really like the Portuguese family.

fairgame84 · 30/08/2017 22:00

They've only fixed them because they are on telly. Especially that Paul, I can't imagine he would have bothered otherwise.

dillite · 30/08/2017 22:03

No way would Paul have fixed that house had he not been on the TV. He would have just evicted the family and got someone else in.

Akire · 30/08/2017 22:29

The garden still looked nearly useable, I know it cost money to landscape and make garden flat but it's a one off expense and would be huge assets whe comes to selling. Plus could pay for itself in added rent over time.

2-4 weeks for the pump?? Was he going to lay main pipe then? Surely everyone else would buy a better pump?

The second house was really dangerous the carpet and garden. They make it out like hero landlords justs do making it normal

purpleme12 · 31/08/2017 01:39

I don't know why there was a massive gap then this episode.

These landlords seemed like the worst to me. Really peed me off. I agree I think these ones especially did all the improvements for tele.

Our house has one bedroom, my little girl's, where it just drips her walls in the winter. I mean it doesn't actually feel wet but you can see loads of drops on her walls. Obviously the landlord has known about it before we moved it. He fobs it off with condensation. Of course it's not. I've never even known this problem before. He won't do anything just says we need to keep window open a bit which we do even in winter. Now we've got this winter where it'll happen again. And yes I am worried about saying something again cos he could just choose to end the tenancy agreement.

Rhubarbginisnotasin · 31/08/2017 07:27

Ugly beyond words.

Hihellohi · 31/08/2017 11:46

What I didn't really get was the mother asking the landlord doesn't he feel bad about charging rent and the daughter saying he's making money from her debt etc etc.
Business is business, granted the property was in bad condition but he acknowledged all that quite fairly (he said they had been over patient) but the mum and daughter at one point were behaving as if she should get to live there for free just because she was a student.

Yes. I agree. It really was quite strange what they expected of someone else.

It was interesting that the landlord didn't give his children a thing but his daughter was able to buy an apartment from her loan so at some stage she had to have had something. Not that it was wrong for her to have an apartment. But you could see the student looking at him as if to say - come on, tell us the rest, the bits you're missing out.

purpleme12 · 31/08/2017 13:35

Yes I thought it was obvious that his daughter didn't even need that loan and must have had money before that in order to be able to invest it

Akire · 31/08/2017 15:52

Yes he must have paid all her living costs and rent so she didn't need to use the loan at all. She must had savings for a deposit to buy a house to start with. Granted any rent would be more than mortgage so can see how it works if you can afford to do that sort thing in the right area.

Agree the mum was odd given students still paying the same as 20y olds that were working for the same thing.

Herculesfan · 31/08/2017 19:21

I'm a tenant. I've also been a student.

To be honest I though Tilly was really up herself. Granted there was an issue with the oven that needed fixing. The water pump is because the water pressure was low. It was either have a water pump or have rubbish water pressure. You can't have it both ways.

Also a landscaped garden like that for £430 a month just outside London??

Her and her mums attitude was wierd- you have a student loan because you are investing in your education, he once (I expect not anymore but possibly) had a mortgage because he was investing in property. His property makes him money, your education will earn you money. Why should he not make a profit on his investment because she happens to be i debt. Why is that his problem?

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/08/2017 19:24

Have on planner will watch tonight so havnt read this episodes comments yet

purpleme12 · 31/08/2017 20:55

To be honest I thought the garden was wierd. I was just expecting nice tidy grass in the garden but it was proper done up. I don't really see how you can do that with a rented property... It's one thing expecting to look after the house and another to keep the garden all done up and proper
