Is Denise sitting her finals for a degree in neuroscience or something. Ive never seen such a palava (sp??) over an English Lit GCSE. Its not going to magically open doors to any better jobs than she already has experience in.

The80sweregreat · 03/05/2017 17:30

Lazymum, Denise will be up for a teaching post soon with her one GCSE! ( or go into politics)

lazymum99 · 03/05/2017 18:07

Has Lady Di had her op?

nancy75 · 03/05/2017 18:35

What are you lot on about, with 1 GCSE Dee can get a top job! I hear there's a job opening coming up on 8th June, may be she could go for that, although she would have to relocate to Downing Street...

The80sweregreat · 03/05/2017 18:39

Nancy, i give you Denise Fox PM! Jean -Claude better watch out.

I thought the dog had her op, but last night shirl said she was booked in for it..

woodhill · 03/05/2017 18:39

Sharon's endless supply is irritating. Even though she lost her job in the Vic.

Love the stupidity over 1 GCSE, it's not exactly educating Rita is it.

woodhill · 03/05/2017 18:39

Sharon's cash

nancy75 · 03/05/2017 18:58

Nobody would mess with Dee sorting out brexit, look how she got those bins emptied!
I think the dog op is next week

The80sweregreat · 03/05/2017 19:00

To do a degree Denise would need an A level. She has a way to go. One exam a good job doesnt make,( in the real world anyway. )

Sharons cash flow is a mystery, but Mitchells always have a healthy safe, or big bag of cash at the ready.

The80sweregreat · 03/05/2017 19:01

Dog op soon, how this soap has gone downhill eh?

southeastdweller · 03/05/2017 19:16

She doesn't need A-levels to do a degree, an Access course would do.

The80sweregreat · 03/05/2017 19:19

I see' didnt know that!
Still, lots more work for her i guess.

Akire · 03/05/2017 22:53

I thought that she's only doing one not 5! Most people her age and certainly under would already have a GCSE. Not sure if she had any other? Suprised these days they ask for a c in maths and English for everything not sure how manger quite a senior role in shop without out.
And even if she does access course not or am a level it's going be years and years and years.... can't cope. We had about 32y with Abbey and now Becks studying and doing homework. She must have a mega plan enough to give up the baby for. Though theory she could do a OU degree work as cleaner but it costs same as does full time. So still leave uni with big debt.

Lest if party is coming up We may finally get rid of the bullies, they are just so childish for their age

The80sweregreat · 04/05/2017 09:27

It hasnt been made clear what Denise is doing English literature course for - i know she wants to better herself, but would need to do maths too ( she doesnt have any qualifications at all) and you would need to do a lot more in order to teach English, for example. She might have been better off doing a computer course as well? I only have a few 'O' levels ( am old) and i wouldnt have a clue where to start with education at my age , although i have done a few basic computer courses (which i cant remember that well now) and a refresher course in maths ( entry level) I am not knocking people doing courses or GCSEs, but she hasnt really told anyone what she wants to do it for, or i have zoned out so much that i cant remember!

Optimist1 · 04/05/2017 09:56

I agree, The80s - initially I think she took the course because she wanted to have a qualification, then it morphed into her finding fulfilment in the learning/studying process, then it all went a bit vague!

The80sweregreat · 04/05/2017 10:33

Maybe it was just done so she there was a justification for giving up the baby - she hadnt been doing the course long when she found out she was having phil's child. She clearly wants to do more exams/ get a better job.
I am surprised she hasnt gone for another retail position - there must be numerous big stores outside the square and she can travel, doesnt have school runs or little ones to worry about! wandering around the few shops in the square wont cut the mustard really. She needs to up her game a bit! ( although i bet she gets a job in a school with michelle!)

Optimist1 · 04/05/2017 11:21

If I was jobless in Albert Square I'd offer a temp service to look after people's market stalls while they're taking time off to have an argument with someone/arranging adequate insurance/popping into the Vic for a few bevvies.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 04/05/2017 11:28

I was thinking that about Denise's GCSE. She seems to have an awful lot of work to do for 1 exam (and a lot of expectations about how it will improve her life) Hmm
I found it so patronising to the viewers when she forlornly looked in her empty fridge, sighed at the empty coffee jar and then a close up shot of her hand counting out the change in her purse. We get it; she's a bit skint!

They all went a bit overboard at Tracey's leaving do. "She was the heart and soul of this place" "They broke the mould when they made Tracey" etc.
She hardly spoke and always looked miserable.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 04/05/2017 11:31

Great idea, Optimist. You can call it the "Keep an eye on the stall mate" service. Grin

Other good positions in Albert Square

Kiddie Cupboard Nanny Service - no notice needed

Insurance renewal advisor

Wedding planner - approximately 2 weeks notice needed

Undertaker - Billy finally has a job for life

The80sweregreat · 04/05/2017 16:02

Ha ha at the jobs on here ! 'Looking after the stall, ' Shrimpy has a degree in that one - they all take advantage of him.
He should charge.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 04/05/2017 16:23

Have I missed something about Phil? He seems to have been abandoned in Italy. Sharon appears to have forgotten about him.

JustAnotherSilentOldNumber · 04/05/2017 16:27

Whose Phil?

Grin
ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 04/05/2017 16:34

Grin Perhaps he's set up a car lot in Italy, developed a Grappa habit and is impregnating all the local ladies without Sharon there to stroke his head.

The80sweregreat · 04/05/2017 17:32

Phil has joined the mafia.
