Confused

Surely Charlie would have atleast gave legally getting custody a whirl first? Before letting Max beat him to a pulp.
Why would he even want Jack to go to prison, he'd atleast have a smidge of compassion for the other two children surely.

Ridiculous storyline. Max's world domination, who dreamt up this shite. Hmm

spiderslight · 16/05/2017 20:47

Geoffrey- you are all forgetting Geoffrey - he was well creepy ....

Ah Geoffrey! He had the patience of a saint. Dot is probably a bit like Geoffrey in the EE scenario Grin

Haven't watched EE yet as usual. Denise is often rude and on the defensive isn't she.

LineysRun · 16/05/2017 20:49

But D had a job. For quite a long time. She'd have been paying Class 1 NI, surely? So would be eligible for Contributions-Based JSA for six months. The Gov website says that Universal Credit replaces Income-Based JSA, not Contributions-Based. Confused

Akire · 16/05/2017 21:03

It's still under the umbrella I just looked it up and it's now called new style JSA contribution based. You can now claim It if work les tha n 16 hours a week and it's supposed to be more flexible with UC to make work pay.

They also can nag and nag you to look for better and and more hours and continue to sanction you on UC even if you are working full time. Though since Denise dosnt pay rent she may get out of loop sooner not later.

The80sweregreat · 16/05/2017 21:05

Max is never at work!

Ariawyn · 16/05/2017 21:23

jesus fucking christ! swallow your pride and stop storming out Denise!

youarenotkiddingme · 16/05/2017 21:24

Maybe he is! Maybe mr big up the shard has a reason for wanting Jack out of the picture? Jack owns a lot of land in Albert Sq with the flats and gym etc.

MrsJayy · 16/05/2017 22:07

Is this carry on Enders up the shard

MyGuideJools · 16/05/2017 22:54

I met Rod Jane & Freddie once!
Strange bunch, lots of eyeliner, especially Freddie, and Jane was so slim, i wonder what they look like now?!

iknowimcoming · 16/05/2017 23:23

Ha I sniggered out loud at fishfinger cam!

JustAnotherSilentOldNumber · 17/05/2017 02:28

www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/jane-freddy-rainbow-finally-married-8081128

Well they were in the news the other week as Jane divorced Rod and married Freddy....
...they are a very strange bunch.

MyGuideJools · 17/05/2017 06:18

justanother thanks for that! Very strange indeed. Jane doesn't look any different, Feddy on the other hand.........
I wonder if they invited RodGrin

The80sweregreat · 17/05/2017 06:57

I had to laugh this morning at ' mr big at the shard' !! I can see now how Max is working for him though without having to go to the office that much!
I didnt think that UC was introduced yet ( shows you what i know) i thought it was only being rolled out up north for now.
I cannot believe that Denise hasnt claimed any benefits before - she was a single parent for years and might have been entitled to working tax credits / child benefits.

MrsBotox · 17/05/2017 07:59

Denise is rude and aggressive. Ditto Jack. Everyone in EE reacts with aggression to any form of authority whether it be police, Job Centre clerks or hospital staff.
This is Soap Land, so everyone is guaranteed to react in the wrong and most damaging way to any given situation.
Whitless biting off her falsies? Are we supposed to think she's getting into self-harming?
I think the fish fingers and Woody are best actors on the show.

MrsBotox · 17/05/2017 08:08

Denise is rude and aggressive, Ditto Jack. Like a pit bull terrier with a boil on his balls. He is also a bit dim. Denise's one GCSE (if she passes) makes her the Square's intellectual.
But this is Soap Land so everyone is guaranteed to react in the worst possible way in any given situation. Their first reaction to police, hospital staff, Job Centre staff is always hostile.
I think the fish fingers and Woody are the best actors in the show.

MrsBotox · 17/05/2017 08:09

Oops. Repeating myself again. Sorry.

JustAnotherSilentOldNumber · 17/05/2017 08:13

I wonder if they invited Rod

He was probably the best man.....

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 17/05/2017 08:34

My favourite bit was actually Kush and Arthur at the park. The kid playing Arthur is ridiculously cute with those big brown eyes.

I also liked Stacey delivering Kush and Martin's apologies to each other Grin

But Denise: good grief.

Am a bit Hmm at Lee's cheek in claiming Whit's unreasonable behaviour - he hit her! On what planet does that make her the unreasonable one??

MrsJayy · 17/05/2017 08:42

What a git lee is unreasonable behaviour Shock. Little arthur is very cute all the babies are briliant Mathew looked like his world had ended when max took those donuts away. I know denise is hungry but i hate the hungry acting gets right on my nerves, why wont she go to kims for her tea

The80sweregreat · 17/05/2017 09:08

The very long shot of Dee sitting on the low wall looking across the road - i thought that went on a tad too long really. we get it, she doesnt want help ( even though the case worker was being nice and supportive!)
She is a fool to herself.
As for Leek - i hope Mick goes and sorts him out- i would if he were my son.

MrsJayy · 17/05/2017 09:14

I dont believe Dee didn't claim benefits before that ive always worked is unrealistic she worked pt when libby was at school for a start she was a single parent in low income jobs she must have got working benefits.

The80sweregreat · 17/05/2017 09:20

I dont think that EE was that bothered about all of this a few years back, money was hardly mentioned ( unless it was Phil's big bag of cash) if janine or Pat needed some extra cash they used to go to a money lender or go on the game! ( not recommended at all of course!)
Bianca got into trouble with catalogues once i remember and was always skint, but they by passed any trips to the benefits offices.
Its normally air brushed away ( as in Stacey and Martin's case)

MrsJayy · 17/05/2017 09:22

Yeah I guess actual realism doesn't matter

DameSquashalot · 17/05/2017 10:53

Outto I was always waiting for Zippy to be zipped up too!!!!

Theycalledmethewildrose · 17/05/2017 11:23

Just read an interview by SEAN O Connor where he said EE shouldn't just be a distraction from the viewers normal lives but should be informative as well.

Am I the only one who doesn't want my soap to be informative. I can watch documentaries for that. Does Sean O Connor think he is a teacher wheeling out the big tv on a trolley to educate us. How patronising. He said that is the route he is going down.

I will depend on this thread instead of watching it. At least this thread makes me laugh and entertains.
