Me to. Mr trilbee tardis is my fave. Who do you watch?
What's a comic con conference? Is it on line?

iklboo · 27/04/2017 13:58

Funny - a Comic Con is a gathering of like minded fans, usually of a particular show or genre like fantasy, sci-fi, Marvel, Superheroes etc. Definitely not online - they're pretty big events.

taytopotato · 27/04/2017 14:42

I have't heard of Mr. Trilbee. I watch loads of reactions and mash up of these (Torchwoodboy, 6 hours of battery life, Aliceplays, redbeard, cathlou, previously on)

Maybe not Comic con but like a Doctor Who Convention - love watching these in youtube

taytopotato · 27/04/2017 14:59

Funny Farmer this is just one of my fave mash up reactions

ElfrideSwancourt · 29/04/2017 20:26

Middle aged women (me!) attend comic cons - although it does help to bring a tame teenager

QuiQuaiQuod · 29/04/2017 20:34

Hi. I loved last weeks episode, old school style, could have been a T Baker onwards episode (sans emojis of course, as they weren't around then!)

and loved this weeks too, Bills good in this one, and Im soooooooooo going to miss PC, hes amazing as the Doc.

Again, almost old school classic Who, the best kind.

(although the urchins looked a little too clean, well fed and current street talk ).

Who's in the vault? the master? Tardis

Magicpaintbrush · 29/04/2017 21:58

Next weeks episode looks good. Can't wait to see David Suchet and Peter Capaldi on screen together, they are my two favourite actors!

specialsubject · 30/04/2017 08:57

Soundbar on. Sound turned up. Pearl Mackie still swallowing words. Sorry, but it isn't entirely the fault of workie sound engineers.

Best bit was the underwater sequence because she couldn't speak - she can act facially.

DissonantInterval · 30/04/2017 12:25

That's 3 entire episodes I've understood. Probably more than the total understanding I had throughout the last 2 series put together. I hope it carries on like this. Good old fashioned stories where no one is their own mother, father, cat etc.

Comealongpond89 · 30/04/2017 14:49

Enjoyed last nights. Bill still going strong. Good simple story although I do like complicated ones. Next week's looks good. Although another earth based one. David suchet should make a good character.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 30/04/2017 17:44

It was a really good episode despite the ridiculous premise. Bill and the Doctor really complement each other.

iklboo · 30/04/2017 20:40

It was a really good episode despite the ridiculous premise.

So....no problem with a 2000 year old repeatedly regenerating alien with two hearts time-travelling in a sentient blue police box then? Grin

I liked this one. It showed a bit more layers to Bill.

Pastamancer · 30/04/2017 22:08

I'm certainly enjoying this series more. I did wonder if it was The Master trapped in the vault, hence the security. I think they missed a trick with the knocking though, if they had made it 4 knocks each time then that would have been a good nod to DT and possibly the Master connection. Would have got people speculating at least

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 30/04/2017 23:39

It's sounding more and more likely that the new one will be Kris Marshall.

ChoccyJules · 30/04/2017 23:43

Tom Hollander would be great but I fear we're getting Kris Marshall.
Yesterday's plot seemed very familiar, almost Who by numbers. They do like to get out the Victorian dressing-up box and flat-pack older worlde set dressing every so often 😉

coldcanary · 01/05/2017 09:01

There's loads of speculation online about this years Christmas special and how he's going to regenerate! I won't put anything on here but if any of its true it'll be brilliant Grin
I really don't know about Kris Marshall, won't he be a bit too much like Matt Smith!

AGnu · 01/05/2017 09:29

I wish they'd keep the next Doctor a secret until he regenerates.

I also wondered if it might be the Master in the vault but decided it couldn't be because the knocking was wrong! I forget, was it explained why he was quite so crazy & what the whole knocking thing was about? I've a vague memory it was supposed to sound like a timelord's heartbeat. Could it be that the Doctor keeps the Master locked in this vault in solitary confinement & it sends him especially crazy so he travels back to an earlier point in the Doctor's timeline to kill him before he can put him in the vault? I think the craziness was put down to when he looked into the time-whatsit as a child & couldn't handle what he saw but he definitely seemed more crazy when the knocking storyline was happening than as Missy, although she's not exactly sane either!

TheHiphopopotamus · 01/05/2017 11:45

Friggin' hell, I really, really hope the new Doctor isn't Kris Marshall. He's be all the worst bits of Tennant and Matt Smith combined with none of their good bits.

taytopotato · 01/05/2017 13:30

Loved the episode and looking forward to the next one.

It seems like the first three episodes are connected to each other- like a long movie (if the credits were removed)

coldcanary · 01/05/2017 13:42

The BBC like to get their money's worth out of the sets and costumes Grin half of that set has probably been in every BBC historical programme for the last 10 years!
PC looks rather good in costume I have to say - very distinguished.

RustyBear · 01/05/2017 13:49

That's a bit difficult when they have to spend several months filming in the streets of Cardiff, well before the new Doctor actually appears on screen, and there are Twitter feeds dedicated to finding and publicising locations.

[ DON'T CLICK UNLESS YOU WANT SPOILERS : mobile.twitter.com/drwhofilming?lang=en ]

Steven Moffat has said they do try to keep stuff secret "but we're rubbish at it", so they may as well make the best of a bad job and get publicity out of the announcement.

As for the 'four knocks', at the end of Planet of the Dead (the one with the bus in the desert) the psychic Carmen tells the Doctor 'your song is ending' and 'he will knock four times.' This was widely assumed to refer to the Master's four-beat rhythm that he had used to hypnotise the population of Earth and disguise his presence from the Doctor during the 18 months he was on Earth before becoming PM. In The End of Time, Ten's last story, it is revealed that the rhythm was retroactively implanted in the Master's brain when he was a child, as a link which together with the White Point Star diamond will allow Gallifrey to escape from the Time War. So the assumption was that it was the Master who would kill the Doctor and force his regeneration. In fact, of course, it was Wilf, trapped in the nuclear control booth and tapping four times on the glass.

The Master's craziness was partly the effect of the constant sound of drums in his head since childhood, but also the result of the interrupted resurrection process, which was sabotaged by Lucy Saxon.

And apparently the four-beat rhythm was inspired, not by the beginning of the theme tune, which was a popular fan theory, but by the sound of Russell T Davies' alarm clock...

Funnyfarmer · 01/05/2017 21:26

Really liked Saturdays episode. Reminded me of the "beast below"
Although he was very happy to let bill make the decision. As he was for Clara to take responsibility in "kill the moon" but was a bit pissed off when Amy did it.

Still loving bill. Never felt this way about a companion since Donna. Really hope chibnall keeps her on

TheHiphopopotamus · 02/05/2017 08:29

I agree farmer I really like Bill too.

Was expecting to hate her with all the hype, but she's really natural and warm. I think the Dr's companions work best when they're not in love with him though.
