I'm preparing to feel quite depressed by it all,

OP posts:

Helena, they are wonderful. My only gripe is that they don't understand that some of us do work so sometimes arent flexible with appointments and visits. But they're learning!

I have fibromyalgia. It's bloody hard going. And there's a huge range of difference in how badly people are affected. But i was diagnosed 13 years ago and apart from maternity leave of 6months each child have worked a minimum of 17 hours a week since.

fruitbrewhaha · 05/04/2017 21:49

Bruce didn't take the job!

CactusFred · 05/04/2017 21:49

Childcare is rubbish for anyone who works weekends or shifts so impossible for a single parent. I'm sure the government muttered something about improving this once but nothing ever happened there!

Lagirafe · 05/04/2017 21:49

Oh what a shame for Bruce. Childcare is a big issue for LP without family support etc.

SuperFlyHigh · 05/04/2017 21:50

Please shut up whinging grandma re your rent...

I do sympathise a bit re her caring for the kids alone.

GplanAddict · 05/04/2017 21:50

£75 rent pw out of £380....I don't get why that's hard.

Wsnake13 · 05/04/2017 21:50

The woman with 7 children seems to have had enough money to have her hair done ......

Mummysh0rtlegs · 05/04/2017 21:51

Shame for Bruce, so close but not being able to find childcare is difficult for those circumstances.

I feel like the Grandmother we aren't hearing the whole situation, she seems to not get it that she has the money to contribute to the raising of those children. It's like saying child maintenance should only be spent on fun. It is a cost for the extra expenses of having those children.

BubbleBed · 05/04/2017 21:51

I struggle enough with childcare working a term time only job - different school term dates between the kids makes it really hard, i literally have no idea how i will cover two or three days next year, other than taking unpaid leave.i can't imagine trying to work shifts or weekends. It's so hard for lone parents in that respect.

SuperFlyHigh · 05/04/2017 21:52

Bubble great on you working Smile.

Really pisses me off those who don't work but could work (and I know a woman with fibromyalgia who doesn't work at all...), if it is genuine caring for someone be it kids etc or genuine medical issues then fine but otherwise I work hard every day every year. Never claimed benefits apart from 6 weeks years ago.

8dayweek · 05/04/2017 21:52

Grandma would never qualify for a DHP as she'd surely be deemed to have adequate funds!

BubbleBed · 05/04/2017 21:52

Why is her house unfit for a one year old? I don't understand? Is it the lack of furniture and provisions?

HelenaDove · 05/04/2017 21:52

BB A friend of mine has fibro Its bloody hard.

Im childfree by choice and a full time carer for my DH who is over 65 He has ischemic heart disease....emphysema and arthritis.

Mrskeats · 05/04/2017 21:53

That 7 kids mum is giving me the rage

SuperFlyHigh · 05/04/2017 21:53

Wsnake which one has 7 kids?!

Sorry but honestly 7 kids and taxpayer foots the bill?! Angry

8dayweek · 05/04/2017 21:54

I also actually think the blonde woman is shitting herself about the kids coming back into her care.

JaneEyre70 · 05/04/2017 21:55

How can she talk to her social worker like that?? Shock

Crispsheets · 05/04/2017 21:55

Yes i agree 8day

QueenLaBeefah · 05/04/2017 21:55

There is a big chunk out of the 7 kids mum's story that we are not being told. And obviously the social services can't tell us the real story because of confidentiality. There is nothing wrong with the house the problem is her.

fruitbrewhaha · 05/04/2017 21:55

She's nice.
Why is it her social workers fault?
I don't get what is going on.

Lagirafe · 05/04/2017 21:55

I'm not entirely sure what isn't being disclosed about the mum with 7 kids as I moved from women's refuge to HA house with just air beds and SS weren't interested.

CactusFred · 05/04/2017 21:55

Seven kids woman needs to take some responsibility for herself and stop blaming everyone else!

Such an appalling example to put on this show as no sympathy from anyone anywhere for her!

SuperFlyHigh · 05/04/2017 21:56

If that blonde one has 7 kids... Honesty, gives me the rage.

luggie · 05/04/2017 21:56

Can someone explain how Sarah can afford her iPhone?

BubbleBed · 05/04/2017 21:56

At least three of her children were already in foster care before she lost the last house. There is a whole story not being told to us.
