Anyone else planning on watching this three-parter that starts tonight at 9?

And Paula forgave Georgia but hated Kay so much she killed her

I don't think she deliberately killed her, I think she shoved Kay in anger when she wouldn't shut up about Caris and she fell through the hole for the skylight.

RockyBird · 15/03/2017 08:15

I couldn't work out the layout of Ellen and Ian's house. It was a terrace but they had a side balcony.

TizzyDongue · 15/03/2017 08:16

or was it because David decided to do really look at Paula through the glass as Ellen spent most of her working day doing. does really staring at someone in their office reveal their past crimes perhaps

It's true - but only works in offices with glass walls.

When you've finally actually looked at the person you can go to the police and see their past you can go to the police and tell them - they will then take The Seen Person to (which they will willing go to) The Random Spot, this will contain The Suspect.

At The Random Spot, he Suspect will become a Victim and The Seen Person will become Arrested Person and arrest them. Then everyone will be happy.

Mind you this only happens if you are from The Magical Land of Architecture. This is a small place found in Glasgow. Other traits of The Magical Land of Architecture are parking spots outside of exactly where you want to go, and feeling no effect from surgery, and not having to work if you need to do whatever you fancy. Plus looking stylist all the time and having enviable houses.

RockyBird · 15/03/2017 08:18

I liked the first 2 episodes and was thinking I'd rewatch with DH (he was out last night) but given the 3rd part, won't bother.

I'd give it more than 5/10. Points gained for the first 2 parts, the clothes, Glasgow and Gilly Gilchrist Blush

cowgirlsareforever · 15/03/2017 08:21

Why was Kay on the roof of the library in the first place?

SailAwaySailAwaySailAway · 15/03/2017 08:21

Like the house but those bathroom sinks are just wanky.

TizzyDongue · 15/03/2017 08:21

I couldn't work out the layout of Ellen and Ian's house. It was a terrace but they had a side balcony.

It was three storeys (though not sure what was downstairs). The kitchen level being in middle floor and the teeny tiny space - that I thought was their garden and didn't know was accessible from the street - was the balcony.

Isn't it what is called a Mews (which I think means it's squished between other places). Front and back opening onto a street - though the streets where at different levels

SoupDragon · 15/03/2017 08:22

Anybody else notice the baby in the end shot?

There is no baby in the end shot, it's a bear.

The Replacement - BBC1
SoupDragon · 15/03/2017 08:23

No baby other thanLeah that is.

SoupDragon · 15/03/2017 08:24

Mews were the servants quarters or stables/carriage houses at the end of posh gardens.

SailAwaySailAwaySailAway · 15/03/2017 08:24

Aaah. I thought it was a baby too. I think it also didn't help that I couldn't make out a single word of what Paula was saying when Ellen was woosy in the car.

I couldn't work out the layout of Ellen and Ian's house. It was a terrace but they had a side balcony

Tizzy is right - it's a mews on 3 floors. The ground and first floor are both pretty narrow but the basement is bigger, stretching out towards the back where the garden is. The wee ground floor balcony looks out over the garden, with a staircase leading down there. It's actually not accessible from the street so Paula, for realness' sake, would have to have come in the front. As mentioned up thread I only know this because I live on this street Grin

We live in a flat on one storey but it's about 2-3 times as wide as the mews houses.

And I can't believe that library is a house! DH thought the exterior was CGI and said 'that looks shite' Grin

Optimist1 · 15/03/2017 08:36

So we're meant to believe that Kay was on site at night time with Paula, annoying her by asking constant questions about Caris whilst simultaneously phoning Ellen to come and confront her about the relationship with David? Even if Paula was feeding Kay's suspicions about Ellen there's no way that Kay would have confronted Ellen with Paula there. No way.

SharonBottsPoundOfGrapes · 15/03/2017 08:37

They've just discussed this on BBC breakfast 😂

sonyaya · 15/03/2017 08:40

Was she reading her a story in a graveyard? Shock

RockyBird · 15/03/2017 08:45

Agent if I was you I'd be posting a thread about Ian and Ellen's selfish parking Grin

Is it the west end?

cowgirlsareforever · 15/03/2017 08:58

What was the gist of it Sharon?

marmiteloversunite · 15/03/2017 09:03

Did anyone else laugh as Paula slid down the stairs after being "pushed" by Ellen? So ridiculous!

Summerof85 · 15/03/2017 09:04

I feel a bit robbed by the ending but it's got everyone talking! Does anyone know which park it was that Ellen was walking through pushing the pram, it had nice trees either side of the path, I thought it was Glasgow Green. Also the park Paula and Ian were walking through, thought that was Rouken Glen.

diddl · 15/03/2017 09:09

In other news, I've got a pair of boots similar to the ones that Ellen is wearing when Paula falls down the stairs.

Marzipanmodelling · 15/03/2017 09:12

Ah thanks Soupdragon

orzal · 15/03/2017 09:13

The car in the garage that Ellen escaped from was the same number plate as the car that killed Caris. Was that in Georgia's garage. ?Confused.!

deaddeadgood · 15/03/2017 09:13

The only thing this series was good for in the end was showing everyone how feckin amazing Glasgow is!

SharonBottsPoundOfGrapes · 15/03/2017 09:14

The writer just seems to keep repeating himself. The end of this is pretty much what was on Breakfast News. www.digitalspy.com/tv/news/a823493/the-replacement-finale-reactions/

SharonBottsPoundOfGrapes · 15/03/2017 09:17

I loved the street they live on but was wondering how the cars get past each other. Also I wanted to see that parking circle roundabout thingy in action.
