Place your bets just how long will Ian avoid the results from GP?

Shirley has some great one liners I agree. Why don't Louise, Becks
And Shaka get together their own gang? Then be 3 them v 3 of other losers. None of them seem
Particularly happy about it. Cant believe Becks has no friends her age!

The80sweregreat · 02/03/2017 21:19

Shirley is on to Witless.!

MojitoMollie · 02/03/2017 21:33

i love Shirley especially when she is doing her twinkle look

i still dont know why Bex wants to be friends with Lou - Lou is a bitch, always stiring etc

nancy75 · 02/03/2017 21:41

Why doesn't Bex have any other friends? She can't be the only girl in her year!
Shirl will destroy Twitney is she messes with Mick, she's definitely getting suspicious

youarenotkiddingme · 02/03/2017 21:50

Feel sorry for Bex but absolutely admire her (despite thinking she also has warp sense of loyalty) for not sobbing Lou in.

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/03/2017 22:04

Whoops. That's me doing the @

I assumed was the same as ** but easier

Sorry

Denise is going to tell Shirley about the kiss she saw isn't she? Hopefully Shirl will stop this stupidity between Shitney and Mick.

Finding EE so boring I don't even want to chat about it anymore. 💤💤

Cary2012 · 03/03/2017 07:39

I work in a high school and the Becks storyline is horribly realistic. I too wish she'd drop Louise.

And Ian writing his will...he's not going to have quads he's going to give birth to four jam doughnuts. It's really clumsy scriptwriting, the way we suddenly see him stuffing his face in every scene to fit in with a new storyline.

Did anyone think that was Denise's baby we saw with that couple?

Love Shirley, glad she's on to Witless.

Penguin27 · 03/03/2017 07:47

Hello, new to the thread, hope you don't mind me jumping in? Smile

Cary I definitely agree about the clumsy way the writers have featured Ian scoffing his face in every scene! You'd think that they'd have a bit of foresight for their characters.

SoupDragon · 03/03/2017 07:56

Nancy that's a picture of Lee you've posted, not Shaks.

SoupDragon · 03/03/2017 07:58

I thought it was Denise's baby, yes, but I don't think social services would be that stupid. I did think the same woman and baby were in it earlier in the storyline though, so that's why I thought it was them and SS had messed up.

Optimist1 · 03/03/2017 08:40

I'd forgotten about Denise witnessing the moment when Whit was making her miracle recovery from being flattened by the bus, Hate - yes, she'll say something to Shirley I'm sure.

I can understand why Mick might choose not to take Shirley to see the bank manager because she can be a bit of a loose cannon, but Whitney???? It would have been an ideal opportunity for Sausage to shine!

The80sweregreat · 03/03/2017 09:09

Sausage seems out the picture lately-
you can tell mick is taking it seriously about a possible loan - he had his specs on.
ian and the doughnuts, give me strength. I'm going to die jane, munch munch munch.

MrsJayy · 03/03/2017 09:25

he had his glasses on Grin . Shurl is on to Whit she looked terrified i said Whit needs to run fast . Im am really bored with it atm half an hour drags but we are still watching out of habit. I dont understand either why Bex has no other girl friends she is the year above Louise and the Imeldas

MyBeloved · 03/03/2017 10:18

Poor Bex; she's a bit of a geek, been abandoned by her mum recently, been cajoled into (probably not very good) sex by the highly immature Shaqs, been lured into bed by her auntie's manipulative lover, taken the blame for Louise sending Shaqu's dick picks round the school and has a step mum who is coping with a new baby and her own mental health issues. She's your typical teen who doesn't quite fit in to any particular group. The story is sadly realistic. The fact she is alone makes her perfect to bullying material. It's horrible.

Something awful will happen in the end. Well...it is eastenders after all...

gingina · 03/03/2017 10:24

I thought Denise was going to change her mind when she saw the parents arguing about putting the baby in the car and I thought they were her baby's new parents too.
It's dragging out too much now. I've forgotten who knows that Phil is the dad and actually don't care what she does with the baby - just get on with it and move on FFS.
That whole dinner thing where they all ate lasagne and talked about their relationships with their own kids was just awful - no wonder Denise got plastered, poor woman!!

The80sweregreat · 03/03/2017 11:20

Shirley does know who the dad is, i thought she was going to spill to Kim but she didnt.
I dont understand why D just doesnt tell kim the truth about Phil - he isnt around to make any decisions and i doubt he would listen to Kim anyway!
Tell her what happened and we can all move on!
( i know its not real life, but must be so hard to give up a baby, although i can see why she has)

gingina · 03/03/2017 11:25

Exactly The80s... Just bloody tell her! The fact that the child is Phil Mitchell's offspring will make Kim understand why she has had the poor little bugger adopted. Look at the mess he has made of all his other children - its a lucky escape for baby Ray!!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/03/2017 11:36

I do feel sorry for BEX and yes weird she has no friends her age

Also think LOUISE is a horrible bitch and needs to be taken down a leg or two

Don't understand why BEX doesn't tell school tho hopefully
I assumed it wasn't baby ray. Surely as wouldn't be that stupid

Shirley manages to down a bottle of neat vodka in a hour or so ......

I'm a bit annoyed about the Alzheimer's story, my grandad had Alzheimer's and it's just not ringing true (well like the rest of it I suppose!) There are plenty of realistic dramas to supporting a sufferer. My poor grandad set his house on fire, went missing several times and on one occasion had the police helicopter and dogs out looking. That's one man, there must be other real and 'dramatic' story's that are true to the disease.

We also had a hell of a time getting him into care. I remember one meeting where I honestly thought his CPN would throttle the social worker, in an argument over consent. Social services wouldn't remove him from his home without consent, CPN and family arguing he couldn't give it.

Then there were 'nice' moments, when he was back in time in his mind, we learned a lot about our family, nothing major but nice little details.

Also night time care is difficult because it's common to lose the ability to tell night from day, one of the big reasons it's so hard to care for a sufferer in the home. So Shirley tricking her mum into thinking it was bedtime during the day isn't necessary, a lot of people have the situation naturally. And it's brutally hard to come to the point where you admit you can't care for your loved one and then battle to get them the help they need. I really think they are missing the mark.

And don't get me sorted on the bank loan!!! Getting loans for pubs is hard. And the only people the bank manager wants to see are the owners. And all the enthusiasm and ideas in the world won't get you a loan, they want broken down facts and figures.

Who owns the Vic? Is it just Mick and Linda? Or does Shirley own some? And is it mortgaged or owned out right? Either way Whitney has no business at all at the bank!

I need to stop watching, this is bad for my bloody pressure Grin.

nancy75 · 03/03/2017 13:26

I wondered about who owns the pub, I'm sure Mick paid for it with a holdall full of cash straight to Phil. If there's no mortgage on it I can't see that a bank wouldn't lend £50K against it - that building in that part of London would be worth well over £1million.

The80sweregreat · 03/03/2017 13:35

There was something cooked up with Shirley to get Mick the pub - Phil took the cash, knowing that the barrel store had a structure fault , he had to get that repaired. She might have got the money from Stan, but, then again, i might have dreamt that up!
Oreo is correct about consent for elderly people with Alzheimers, power of attorney is the way to go ( although would Sylvie be able to give her consent for that to happen, plus it costs money to do) I can't see the bank being willing to lend money to them, 20 k of it is a fine too. Shirley would need to be there as she has a licence and co owner and Witless isnt! Why cant sausage come up with a plan of action? all that lawyer training he has, he must know something, or can help.

Akire · 03/03/2017 14:36

I don't think the mum Had any money does she? She was living with babe before in babe house.

I think they must have bought it upright maybe Shirley put in 20k to
Help and that's why she gets share in profits for last few years for doing about one shift a month. She's only having to do more now because L and babe and Leek are not there.

nancy75 · 03/03/2017 15:03

The bank wouldn't give them a loan but would surely consider a mortgage if they own the building. The pub is never empty so on paper it must be a good business, the debts are down to Lee & the fine, not the business itself

Oreocrumbs · 03/03/2017 15:49

See if they own it outright, then surely the way to go would be a small mortgage, the amount they need would be tiny compared to the value of the building.

Business loans are for investing in something to grow, not paying off debts/fines. I can't see that would be approved, they would have to say it was for some kind of extension or new equipment to provide a new service that would bring in more money. E.g. £35k to put in a kitchen because the projected profits for adding food would be X.

I'm overthinking this! It's not real, it doesn't matter.....
