Starting this one as I finished last one...

So, Daniela I think will win as it looks like it's been written/plotted that way since the beginning..

I don't think Daniela is either outstandingly good or bad - she's fine, she's okay.

That's why the mega enthusiasm of the judges is so weird.

The first time she appeared, Daniel and Kelly bigger her up so much, I thought - 'Does she know them?' - it was just like ridiculous.

But here she is in the final - quelle surprise!

Saw it coming from her first appearance and it had nothing to do with her design - and everything to do with what the judges were signalling in the voiceover.

'Hey viewers, Daniela is good, good good...'

Bit brainwashy without ever really explaining why she is better than the others.

I don't think she's bad - but there is not enough discernible difference to justify the bigging up that she gets.

Written in the stars eh?

That sucks like a granny with a gobstopper. Ridiculous decision. Oliver was robbed. I bet I know who'll be getting more commissions though.

MyCatsHateMLMtoo · 19/01/2017 20:59

Not impressed overall with the quality of this series' candidates (apart from Oliver, obviously Grin) and the quality of the judges. Daniele's kitchen was just not practical to actually work in. How didn't they see that?

Cedilla · 19/01/2017 20:59

I've come back after a brief rant to dh to re-state my objection. TRAVESTY

MsSampson · 19/01/2017 21:00

Yes, sorry, I was what the whatting the judge's decision. That living room was so hideous. But maybe the rooms just look very different on TV and in person??

onthelevel · 19/01/2017 21:00

Just ridiculous, no way should she have been the winner!

Donotpress · 19/01/2017 21:00

It all came together to make me hate 'design'. I preferred the 'befores' for sure.

Delatron · 19/01/2017 21:00

The feedback to the judges was that the clients liked Daniela's designs but they didn't! Such a fix. Oliver kept to the brief. Daniela just did what she fancied.

Allthebestnamesareused · 19/01/2017 21:00

Lol - we expected Oliver yo have win! DH just said can you please go on Mumsnet to express our shock and disgust! GrinGrin

Bromeliad · 19/01/2017 21:02

Rubbish! Oliver was robbed. Completely ridiculous!

MyCatsHateMLMtoo · 19/01/2017 21:02

I'm going to be having a moan-fest to DH when he comes in Grin. It was bad enough last night, no wonder he went out to escape .

Fontella · 19/01/2017 21:03

No friggin' way!

Not in a million years.

I can't believe they've given it to Daniela after her efforts tonight. Those rooms were diabolical.

Oliver's kitchen was absolutely gorgeous, the bedroom, the study, so much more liveable and inviting that her rooms. It has to be fix surely? Who in their right mind would have given it to her over him?

Never been so 'suspect' of a winner in years. Just a crazy, inexplicable decision.

GrouchyKiwi · 19/01/2017 21:03

I miss the programme that was on after the show last year. Got lots of great ideas from that programme. Something about clever ways to fix problems in houses.

fourquenelles · 19/01/2017 21:04

I need to go and stroke the furry wall over on ITV2 now to calm down. Grrrrr.

Honaluuhuu · 19/01/2017 21:05

Daniela has a real raw ability to design amd she has an innate understanding of textures, styling and form-giving and her photography and art work is polished and hypnotising, especially the portrait she made of the young girl when she designed her bedroom. It captured the essence of youth. She really is a designer's designer. Oliver was great too but missed that je ne sais quoi

PurpleDaisies · 19/01/2017 21:06

All her rooms were stark and clinical.

Fontella · 19/01/2017 21:07

Huh?

She didn't show 'much' raw ability tonight. Painted a couple of rooms white and painted the floors black. Put in some dodgy mdf. furniture with black sticky tape squares, and some horrendous artwork that would have have looked better in a 60s art students bedsit.

Bloody awful!

GrouchyKiwi · 19/01/2017 21:08

I did love the photo she did of that little girl. It was arresting.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 19/01/2017 21:09

No. The wrong person won.

Mind you, I didnt like how the turquoise in Oliver's bedroom wallpaper shouted at the cool, silvery blue of those curtains - I can't explain it, but in my mind there are yellowy blues, pinky blues and cool, silvery ones, and you can have different blues as long as they are in the same category - if that makes sense - these just didn't 'go' for me.

I loved his kitchen - I'm not convinced by the blue ceiling, but otherwise, I thought it worked really well - and I especially liked the tiles!

Cocolepew · 19/01/2017 21:09

It captured the essence of youth because it was a youth.

fourquenelles · 19/01/2017 21:09

Personally I don't agree that her art work is polished. I saw little evidence in this series.

Cocolepew · 19/01/2017 21:10

Did you hear the echo in Daniellas living room when she was talking to the couple? It was like a cave.

TheSpottedZebra · 19/01/2017 21:10

Hona-Ella

Ha ha ha ha ha ahaa haaaaa ha ha.

Fontella · 19/01/2017 21:11

I did love the photo she did of that little girl. It was arresting.

One nice photo does not a great interior designer make. Oliver was streets ahead of her in every department and I'd include Christopher in that too.

Absolute travesty.

Fontella · 19/01/2017 21:12

It captured the essence of youth because it was a youth.

HAHAHAHAHA genius!!

SwedishEdith · 19/01/2017 21:13

"She really is a designer's designer.". That only designers get it? What good is that for the people who live there? I think she's just a fashion follower.
