They go down the 'ighstreet 80s. Stacey said it the other day about Nuchelle's washing.

Hohumming · 13/01/2017 18:25

Stacey had Michelle's clothes washed and dried on the same day.
How much must that cost? Does anyone know? On that note Stacey and Martin's money woes have mysteriously disappeared (which I'm actually happy about as it was turning into the same line we endured for years first with Bianca and then with Kat).

The80sweregreat · 13/01/2017 18:25

Ding, the Daily fail would be allover the R and R tradegy in real life.
The fact Roxie was a single mum would send them into overdrive no doubt!
I thought Phil would shed a tear, but nothing.
I hope its better tonight. I can see people giving up if it becomes the nuchelle show.

The80sweregreat · 13/01/2017 18:28

Corp, of course! Still cheaper for Martian n stacy to buy a washing machine. With a small baby and lilly etc there must be loads of washing. Make a space for one, cant be that hard!
Jeez, these people need help.

Hohumming · 13/01/2017 18:33

Am I the only one who is interested in seeing how Michelle's character develops. I wasn't enamoured with her soliloquy but the content was interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing her character develop

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2017 18:37

I've usually done the EE threads but last two missed out on 1

Ho, your the only one on here- lol!
Mind you, this Preston may turn out to be a six packed hunk who causes havoc on the square and dumps Chelle for louise! Or chelle will end up in prison wearing the yellow netball tabard thing., not had anyone in prison for a while. Johnny may have to help get her out. Or she will go on the run , to the allotment.

Akire · 13/01/2017 18:55

Bloude that sounds grim hope it eases off soon! While we talking about allotments did we ever figure out who has been Looking after arthur aloment in last 15 years? Goodness where is everyone else going to go when need somewhere to sleep rough, get drunk, alive off school or work!

For research purposes I've googled laundrette prices in London lol you are talking about £7 for large wash so say get good 2x home loads in and about another £3-4 per load to dry. So Martin Stacey would have done least 4 loads a week with 3 adults 2 kids so least £20 week at very least. So in 2months you could have bought your own.

The80sweregreat · 13/01/2017 19:05

Akir, that is dedication! I think in the early days the laundrerette was used for social purposes and Dot, pauline etc was in there so they could do story lines an gossip while they worked. Its a farce now with washers being cheaper and people can take out a cupboard to have it plumbed in!
There are a few around here still, but i guess its restaurants and businesses that use them most for service washes.
I havent been in one for years!

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2017 19:14

Prob £10minimum to do wash /dry one load

So could easily buy one and make money back within a year

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2017 19:17

Thinking about it I do 3 a week. Darks /towels - Lights /bedding and df work stuff which goes in alone !!!

That's just 2 adults - once bubs is here sure will be extra loads 😂

I live west London and I have 3 in a 10m walk but very over crowded area lots of house shares where no washing machine etc because it costs in repairs or mis use damage property. I lived in shared house where landlord had put money slot like laundrette on it so it paid for costs! Given most houses in square are self contained families very unbelievable no machine. Or indeed we haven't seen anyone go in there to do a weeks worth washing in about 10 years. You are talking extra £5 per wash for someone to put in machines for you

HateSummer · 13/01/2017 19:52

nancy75 · 13/01/2017 20:19

Feel sorry for Denise but Kim's reaction is realistic in this situation

DearMrDilkington · 13/01/2017 20:19

I love Kim as well. I think she means well and just doesn't want D to regret her choice.

DearMrDilkington · 13/01/2017 20:21

Ah now she's changing slightly.. It's very realistic though.
