I was really taken aback a bit last night with how mean everyone was to Glenda. Yes she was probably not the best Mum but for Aunt Sal to say that in the church and no one stop her, and then everyone else to put the boot in as the episode went along, even Dot too, was a bit nasty, almost bullying. Surprised she would want to stay around the square after all that. If she stuck to her guns and went through the courts she probably would have got custody of Matthew as his next of kin, unless Charlie turned up of course.

As for Jack's attack on Danny, it sounded like he got a real pasting but when you he was next on screen he didn't have to many injuries. How comes EE does not show violence anymore? Back in the late 90's/early 2000's with all the gangster storrylines they would have shown the attack.

southeastdweller · 21/01/2017 10:40

I think Glenda is genuine but why did she only want to take Matthew and not Amy as well?

celeste84 · 21/01/2017 11:01

Amy is Jack's child.

Akire · 21/01/2017 12:33

I doubt she would have had a strong case, in event of no will surely fact she married Jack and her was taking on Matthew would count as her wishes. Given he been father figure in his life for last year with 2 half siblings can't see court saying he would be better off with grandparent with no means of support, and who he has bearly had any contact with anyway. Different if she was looking after grandkids while they at work and Jack couldn't cope

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/01/2017 13:41

Hence the bloood dad aka Charlie need to come back and take Matthew

CremeEggThief · 21/01/2017 15:01

I agree, Akire. I think the courts would favour Jack over Glenda, but obviously, Charlie as the bio father would probably win over Jack.

celeste84 · 21/01/2017 15:18

I would have thought courts would see to the child being with its blood relative. The only thing Jack would have going for him is the two siblings.

woodhill · 21/01/2017 16:29

Yes I thought Sal was horrible and someone should have told her off.

lazymum99 · 21/01/2017 16:48

Jack knows that Glenda will never stick it as unpaid housekeeper/nanny. She never stays long and never manages to take any responsibility for anything. Quite a good ploy really. Although if it went to court he would probably get custody if Charlie not around.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 21/01/2017 18:06

Welcome back Mrs.J, I thought you'd flounced. Grin

The actor playing Jack has actually really come into his own with all this grief and crying, some touching scenes with the children.

What on earth was Whit expecting to be on the payslip? Call centre wages are going to be bad.
Why was all Lee's dirty washing spread over the kitchen table anyway? Shock All those dirty pants she was handling while gazing fondly attalking to Mick. Very odd.

Max put far too much ketchup in that sandwich. I really thought it would explode on his nice suit when he took a bite. Grin

CorporalNobbyNobbs · 21/01/2017 18:23

I thought maybe Lee's wage is commission based and he is shit. And he probably told Whit he got loads.

Denise is 47 isn't she - so if Kim was 40 or less it's plausible that Denise took care of her from when Kim was 6 and she was 13.

MrsJayy · 21/01/2017 19:10

I would never flounce I watch with Dd and she has been having a social life how dare she

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 21/01/2017 19:14

Ah yes, those were the days when I had a social life. Grin

Akire · 21/01/2017 20:21

I missed part why she was doing his laundry too. Guess because no machine at flat and. Ow no laundrette to spend £20 a week in. But given they are
Not getting on surely he could have stuck his on wash on. He's been on the army if nothing you know laundry and ironing!

MrsJayy · 22/01/2017 11:43

I know these younguns and their social life 😂

Thing came up on fb Denises sister Daphne was in a few episodes in 2010 for Denises funeral remember Lucas had told everybody she died.

MrsJayy · 22/01/2017 11:44

Still cant remember another sister though.

The80sweregreat · 22/01/2017 12:01

i never want to see lee's undies on a table where they all eat babe's trifle!

he is useless isn't he? is he not capable of going to the new launderette where Stacey now goes - whitless could have stuffed in a bin bag and told him where to take it all. Its true, in the army its one of the first things they teach them.

Optimist1 · 22/01/2017 12:43

A bit of detective work reveals that Denise's sister was played by Emi Wokoma. Pictures here www.bing.com/images/search?q=emi+wokoma&qpvt=emi+wokoma&qpvt=emi+wokoma&qpvt=emi+wokoma&FORM=IGRE . She seems to spend much of her career being a Tina Turner lookalike. I certainly don't remember her from EE!

MrsJayy · 22/01/2017 14:35

The Lee story is meant to highlight young male mental health it is just coming over that he is snively and a selfish prick, im not sure it is doing the job it is meant to be doing.

nancy75 · 22/01/2017 18:29

We are supposed to feel sorry for Lee and worry about him, I just bloody hate him and hope he goes back to that car park soon

MrsJayy · 22/01/2017 18:39

Not a jot do i care about himNancy

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 22/01/2017 18:47

You're a hard woman, Nancy Grin
I must admit Lee seems to have a nasty streak, lashing out at Whit saying horrible things and then crying and saying sorry. It's not very appealing and still no sign of a tissue or hanky, you'd think he'd start carrying some around just in case.

nancy75 · 22/01/2017 18:55

I might feel slightly sorry for him if he didn't alway have such a snivelling ratty look on his face! After the robbery he is lucky anyone in his family is talking to him at all and he still makes out he is the hard done by one.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 22/01/2017 19:50

Yes he loves a pity party.

dingdongdigeridoo · 22/01/2017 21:02

I don't think the storyline has done much for raising awareness of men's mental health. Why not use a likeable character like Jay? I've always hated Inspector Gadget and he just comes across as a selfish snivelling git.
