I actually quite enjoyed yesterday's. There was some decent acting from both Phil and Jack. And I love the way Patrick's accent gets stronger, the crankier he gets!

Baby Spud is one of the sweetest looking babies isn't he Blondes? Almost makes me want another. That lovely stretching thing they do when they first wake up.

I think there was some nonsense where the adoptive parents died and Sonia and Martin read it in the paper and made friends with Bex's adoptive grandmother who had custody but didn't let on who they were and then of course were found out and there was a hoo haa.

Actually there was a very similar story in emmerdale a couple of years ago with Amy and Kyle and Joanie

I think the adoption story could have gone 1 ways (and may still do so)

Either Phil goes to court and claims parentage and DNA proves it's Kush's and he gets another child or that was Phil saying goodbye and baby spuds adoptive parents showing up.

We've also got R and R funeral to get through. So will a missing Charlie there's still time for drama yet!

He can't be Kush's - Spudlet would be something like 2 months early at least (maybe even 3?) and I think they would have noticed that.

I feel so sorry for Denise. I'm really suprised so many people are being so judgmental towards her. Giving a baby up for adoption is such a selfless act and a wonderful thing for another couple.

Tried to sell Mick as a baby and she's let back in the pub. Blackmail was soon forgotten. But sabotaging a coffee machine!?! Too far Babe.

I think a lot of people will agree with Kims feelings about black boys in the care system. Not saying i agree or disagree with Denises decision either way, but Kim does have a point there.

Lastly, I pondered about an element of racism when Phil decided not to challenge Denise's decision, and its early days yet, and spudlet is fahhhhmily after all.....

I don't think there was any racism on Phils part at all. I think it was a pretty selfless decision for both parents.

Is she working for free? To be fair, commenting that the commission is too low is because they've got to pay Mick back and somehow have enough to live on. Having said that, before Linda left, there was no reason she couldn't have got a better paid job than I needed the Vic. If she got one now, how would they have all the suspicious cosy moments between her and Mick?

TheMockingbird - I don't understand people going on about Whitney getting a job. She works in the pub doesn't she? Her career is childcare and that's probably less well paid then pub work. I don't know what well paid job she's expected to get.

As pp have said, London au pair/nanny would charge more than NMW, which she's probably getting in the pub.
That, and it's the expectation that Lee should be the higher earner (even pre-debt). She wanted the ridiculous £300k flat, but never once talked about her own contributions. Even with Jack's flat and the revelation of debt, the onus was still on Lee to be the breadwinner. Why? She is more skilled than he is.
