A new thread for the new year Smile

Will the truth come out about how Roxy and Ronnie died yesterday?
Will the new exec producer lose his obsession with bins?
Has Max really forgiven Jane, Ian and Phil?
What secret does the new 'Chelle have?
Will Johnny Sausage learn to act?
Is Denise going to go through with the adoption?
What's going to happen with Lee?
What are your hopes for EE this year?

Come and discuss here!

In Whitney's defence, Lee allowed her to believe he had a great job earning big bucks. He lied to her repeatedly and treated her like a child when she is a grown woman who understands a lack of money having grown up with Bianca!

bleedingheart · 03/01/2017 22:43

Posted too soon...

Her requests and expectations were based on what he told her not greed or pressure.

DeleteOrDecay · 03/01/2017 23:57

Yes I agree bleeding and yes she may have been a little annoying with it but she was obviously just excited for her and Lee's future but Lee never had the balls to be truthful to her. I cringed when she referred to Linda as 'L' though. Just stop it Whit. Only Mick can get away with that!

The scene with jack trying to tell the kids what happened was hard to watch. Im guessing that's sort of how it might happen in real life, where people have no idea how to explain that a close relative has died (especially a parent) to young children so they sort of wing it. The way jack kept looking up at Max for reassurance, he looked like a little boy lost himself, he didn't know where to begin.Sad

SinisterBumFacedCat · 04/01/2017 00:19

Here you all are. I thought everyone was too traumatised to post anymore and the last thread had just died.

Agree about Whitney, she was
Nagging Lee every 2 seconds to pay the deposit on Jacks flats without offering a penny herself, does she just work at the Vic for a laugh?

SoupDragon · 04/01/2017 07:15

Her requests and expectations were based on what he told her not greed or pressure.

I agree with this about Whitney. She was told Lee had a big city job, or rather allowed to believe it. Everyone was.

I think the way Jack told the kids was OK. I imagine there will be another conversation explaining but this was the gentlest way to broach the subject I think. So sad.

HSMMaCM · 04/01/2017 09:18

Every time there was a major Fowlet event, DH and I commented that Michelle wasn't there and now she's suddenly appeared.

Jack is going to have to tell the children R&R have died, because he made it sound like they'd just left and weren't coming back.

Maybe Denise will call the baby Veronica Roxanne.

HSMMaCM · 04/01/2017 09:19

And why on earth would anyone put Babe in charge of the pub finances. She'll rob them blind!

iknowimcoming · 04/01/2017 09:28

Agree re Babe! It's alright Babe's here - err you mean baby seller/blackmailer Babe? How very reassuring!

The80sweregreat · 04/01/2017 09:43

Jack's children :

Penny has mum and dad still alive and a step dad too. Despite her disability she has fared better on the mum and dad front!

Amy has lost her mum and Auntie , but as a Branning I think she will be alright ..
Ricky - his mum abandoned him this year but at least she is still alive, being a half Mitchell means he will be looked after at least in later life ( they tend to look out for their own mostly!)

Matthew is the one I feel sorry for most - will never remember his mum or auntie and is also half Cotton, so related to the terrible nasty Nick. His real dad isn't on the scene either. Jack has to step up now as never before, with only help from dodgy Max and a frail Dot. Who would be a child in a soap eh?

iknowimcoming · 04/01/2017 10:01

I'm not sure the kids will really notice - they spend that much time in their bedroom watching dvd's!

The80sweregreat · 04/01/2017 10:55

iknow,! soap kids are resilient. after a few weeks we wont see them again..
Babe has that look in her eye again - rip off Mick and linda, I wouldn't put it past her.
(mind you, 3.99 all you can eat breakfast is pretty good value for a London boozer!! )

AGnu · 04/01/2017 11:00

I can't see Babe ripping off Mick but I can totally see her trying to "help" in some dodgy way, losing what little money they do have, making it worse trying to fix it & ultimately getting thrown out for making such a mess of everything.

qazxc · 04/01/2017 11:02

Max needn't have bothered with ninja like removal of the drugs as clearly jack has convinced himself that Roxy drowned Ronnie.

MrsJayy · 04/01/2017 11:06

Yea I think Babe will try and "help" she is so twisted that she would do anything to help out her family and she will be out on her arse probably with Lee not far behind, are we meant to believe that Mick beat up 6ft +muscle man Oz and only walk away with bloody knuckles?

MrsJayy · 04/01/2017 11:07

Urgh why did the policeman tell Jack that stupid man now jack is going to blame Roxy forever even in death Ronnie is a saint.

LineyReborn · 04/01/2017 11:10

I bet the producers will have a 'reason' for Michelle's reappearance written into the story now, more than that she 'missed Walford'.

Maybe she's on the run from the Florida Pie Mafia or she's in deep cover for Interpol. Or she's just Very Sad About Something.

It's a stupid development in EE and I don't think it's going to work. Bringing this stupid NuMichelle in has meant personality transplants for some of the other really good characters like Stacey, and Martin as well, and Sharon to a large extent, and the pay-off just isn't worth it.

MrsJayy · 04/01/2017 11:23

She just seems to be very cold and thirsty im not sure what the turn up heating but putting ice in orange juice was about.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 04/01/2017 11:25

Agree, NuMichelle isn't really slotting in to the square. On the run from Florida pie mafia would make sense. You may be onto something there.

Maybe Mick bloodied his knuckles pounding on Oz's door but he didn't actually answer? Grin That'll teach him, banging on his door in a menacing fashion.

The80sweregreat · 04/01/2017 11:29

michelle and the ice cubes - just to make us viewers realise that Florida is hot all year round I suppose!
she could have brought back some nice presents for the children ( from Disneyland) all she seems to have brought is one small bag and a terrible trenchcoat ( purchased from the same place as Lee's one)
Florida pie mafia!! maybe she will get a job with Babe making 'poys' for the Vic to help with the money worries. If she is sticking around ( god help us) she will need a job. Or her husband will show up next -

MrsJayy · 04/01/2017 11:29

Ha banging on door 😂

SoupDragon · 04/01/2017 11:34

Maybe Denise will call the baby Veronica Roxanne.

Let's hope it's not a boy then :o

I think it will be a son, she will keep it, Phil will find out and there will be a whole "proper son" storyline involving Ben.

The80sweregreat · 04/01/2017 11:36

Would the police be so insensitive and tell Jack something like this ' off the record' - I know he was a copper once, but that was a long time ago now and usually they are pretty tight lipped , especially as there will be an inquest and coroner involved too etc. I bet in real life they are cringing at such a mistake!!

The80sweregreat · 04/01/2017 11:43

Phil is getting on now to play dad to another new Mitchell child, poor kid being brought up with that crowd too!
mind you. if phil does get wind of the fact its going to be adopted he wont let it happen though, its all about the famillillyyy isn't it?
maybe a boy could be called 'Victor Ronnie 'or something -

LineyReborn · 04/01/2017 11:43

It seems bizarre the police officer would tell Jack that Ronnie jumped in the pool after Roxy, but omit the rather crucial detail 'wearing 30 metres of wedding dress, veil, train and petticoat'.

The80sweregreat · 04/01/2017 11:45

liney, they cant let the facts get in the way of even more grief..
