Hi
Followed Sue and Noel Radford and family on our tv programmes & see they have a new show on tomorrow (29/12/16).

Something I don't get is child safety in this and other larger families.

I mean I had 3 under 7 and I watch 2.5y old all the time, even when he is in older siblings room as there's bunk beds etc and even dressing up clothes can be dangerous

I know the Radford's have super high bunk beds and they always have around 4 kids under 6y I wonder how they supervise them? Or do you think kids like these and in other larger families are in hospital much more often ?

What show are you all talking about??? I have heard about this family but didn't know there was a tv show

PinkSwimGoggles · 30/12/2016 16:51

would it be on company's house if it was a sole trader/self employed type of thing?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 30/12/2016 16:51

It's called 19 Kids and Counting

BobbieDog · 30/12/2016 16:53

No it wouldnt be on the companies house if he was a sole trader however if they are running a bakery, and an online shop i would of thought they would of been a limited company

Wolverbamptonwanderer · 30/12/2016 18:04

The company could be called anything though, not the same name as the bakery

woesinwonderland · 30/12/2016 18:22

I remember on a previous thread a poster did a check and Faraday's (bakery name) was dissolved or inactive and it was the online pie business that was the official one.

RebootYourEngine · 30/12/2016 18:59

As someone who has a lot of siblings i think it is selfish to have the amount of children that the radfords do.

Msqueen33 · 30/12/2016 19:19

You'd hope for the sake of their existing children and the fact she's now 41 and has been pregnant most of her adult life that they'd stop. I suspect they will have another. Possibly more. I'd be interested to see a real life snap shot of them.

TheEagle · 30/12/2016 19:27

Oh yikes, I'm just watching the second half! The Dad of the Australian brood is super-creepy too!

"Look at all the children" he said Hmm

MommyTVFan · 30/12/2016 20:29

Also
Did anyone see on her Facebook page that in Nov she had what she thought was a mini stroke? Can't remember proper name.

I wonder if that would make more pregnancies more dangerous

TIA?

BikeRunSki · 30/12/2016 20:34

I noticed that in the "chats to camera", that none of the older children said that they liked being part of such a large family, although several said that they didn't like it.

(I'm one of 4, which is awesome though).

BikeRunSki · 30/12/2016 20:37

They are in for a shock when the menopause arrives...

clumsyduck · 30/12/2016 21:02

Finally watched it

Yes that's what's sad the other kids don't seem to like it so why not hear that and concentrate on them

Dp watched it with me and thinks it's beyond creepy that she was 13 and him 18 when she first got pregnant I know it sounds awful because they clearly love each other but haven't people ended up in prison for that ???

JustanotherMortificado · 30/12/2016 21:17

Exactly it is disgusting and can't believe it's just papered over.

BakeOffBiscuits · 30/12/2016 21:30

"haven't people ended up in prison for that ???"

Not in the past they didnt. I know someone who had terrible problems with her 13 year old dd. She was "going out" with a 17 year old, she even got pregnant. The parents were beside themselves and involved the police who did precisely nothing.Angry. This was about 14 years ago.

Actually with all the "grooming" and abuse scandals, parents often called the police and without exception the police did nothing. Thankfully things have changed now.

KnittedBlanketHoles · 30/12/2016 21:34

I think the 13-18 age gap is disgusting and agree with the analysis that she is trapped.

clumsyduck · 30/12/2016 21:34

That's it they mention she was 13 but not his age but obviously can work it out from there ages now prior episodes I saw I thought they seem a nice happy family and on the whole they do now ( other than older kids complaining about there being to many kids ) I'm not been snobby about large families as someone upthread commented ( not directedto me ) but I just can't see why it's being overlooked for the sake of tv wereas in reality if an 18 year old got a 13 year old pregnant there would be complete uproar

clumsyduck · 30/12/2016 21:36

And I agree that years ago it probably wouldn't have been dealt with in the way it would be now although surely still illegal ?

BakeOffBiscuits · 30/12/2016 21:42

Yes it was illegal back then but the police mainly did absolutely fuck all about it. The young girls were seen as willing participants rather than abuse victims.Angry

clumsyduck · 30/12/2016 21:45

Yes I can imagine
At 13 though a child , gross isn't it .
I was sayin to dp at 18 I had a full time job , ran a car , went out clubbing etc
At 13 I was a child in what the second year of high school ?? Still collecting beanie babies
cannot for the life of me imagine a relationship between two people of those ages

Iamtheresurrection · 30/12/2016 21:58

This is the first episode that's made me feel uncomfortable.

I always thought he was on something, seemed far too laid back.

Beebeeeight · 30/12/2016 22:01

I imagine kids in big/ unsupervised families learn to be more streetwise at a younger age.

Veggiesupremeextracheese · 30/12/2016 22:05

I actually think that she seems quite sweet! I do feel sorry for the older ones though!

BobbieDog · 30/12/2016 22:08

The more programmes they do the more the masks are slipping
