The walking dead is on at 2.30am on Fox!!!

Wanted to make this a separate thread to make it obvious.

I didn't know this until I saw it mentioned it somewhere else today. Fox are showing the walking dead at 2.30 am!

I won't manage to watch it - I'm 7 months pregnant and my 3 year old isn't sleeping well but if you were able, it would be cool.

Enid that has always made me prefer TWD to GoT. I couldn't watch if there was sexual violence as well. I was worried that Negan might take Rosita hostage and it would have been unwatchable if they had introduced the threat of rape into that scene as well.

It also helps to differentiate the good guys from bad in a post apocalyptic world of shades of grey. So in Season 2, Daryl beats up a hostage but the hostage has just described how his gang brutally raped and murdered two young girls in front of their father - so although we aren't comfortable with our guys torturing their hostage, we know the other gang are so much worse. It also explained why the Termites were so callous and cruel after their horrific treatment by the bandits. So many moral lines have been blurred, violence and murder have been committed by our guys in circumstances we can't always condone but there is a clear line in the sand when it comes to sexual violence and our heroes are always on the right side of that line even when they cross so many others. I couldn't watch it otherwise.

Don't worry, Enid. Negan is anti rape and AMC seem to be too having missed some plots in the past. I think it must be tricky to write Negan without all the swearing for American tv lol

RedCrab I think it was Glenn because he was the first one to challenge Negan. He was told there was one free one then there would repercussions, so he got it when Daryl reacted. Negan thinks Daryl is tough and therefore useful, so didn't want to finish him.

I love the amount of strong women in it and when you meet a character of either gender you never assume it's one way or the other.

I liked it the way they did it. I thought it would and should be Glenn, with Abraham as a bit of a cop out. I didn't read any spoiler sites - and it turns out some of them got it spot on with the double killings - so when Abraham was killed, I thought Glenn was safe.

I think Glenn's murder will galvanise them - Maggie seemed bent on revenge just as soon as she gets well - in a way that a lesser character might not. So sadly, he had to go. I'll miss GI Ginger too - Blondes you must be devastated. In the season 6 finale I noticed him square up to Negan even though he was on his knees and I wondered if he'd get it for being brave and not easily controlled.

I didn't mind waiting over the summer or even waiting until after the first ad break to find out that Abraham was the first victim. It built tension rather than annoyed me, but then I've always been good at delayed gratification. Never hunted for presents in the run up to xmas either.

I started a thread ages ago about how I hate the objectification of women and gratuitous titty shots in GoT. It's awful

I bloody love TWD for its equality and it's strong female characters, Michone is a bad ass and roamed the woods on her own with a cape and a f**king sword! The producers are fantastic for showing women accurately, strong and capable. I reckon I would be a badass!

How are you managing to watch the talking dead? We watch on FOX but it was only on for an hour instead of the supposed hour and half so we didn't see Negan or any talk of tiger.
It went to an advert after Abe came on and that was it done.
I thought our recording had cut short but on the planner it says it's only an hour?

The women in TWD haven't always been badass. Lori and Carol spent season one washing clothes.

Yeah they did, but then look how Carol's role develops and she saves ALL of them from terminus. Badass.

Can't remember Andreas role much in the first series, she was pretty good wasn't she?

Also I thought when rick was outside the van he woukd get bitten accidentally-on-purpose and tjem return to the van so he could change while began was driving. Kind of required sacrifice but might be better than the alternative.

I'm pretty sure that Negan has a harem of women back at their camp. Doesn't he take whoever he likes? Including the wives and girlfriends of his men?
