Wanted to make this a separate thread to make it obvious.

I didn't know this until I saw it mentioned it somewhere else today. Fox are showing the walking dead at 2.30 am!

I won't manage to watch it - I'm 7 months pregnant and my 3 year old isn't sleeping well but if you were able, it would be cool.

I think Rick is buying time (in the gun meeting in the church he intimated that guns could be buried for years before they would be needed for revenge).

I am 50 50 on Neegan, not exactly sure, if he was really menacing it would be even harder watching? He is funny at times - certainly not a very believable character where the guvenor was? How could he have missed the fact Michone and others weren't there?

Abraiid2 · 15/11/2016 16:49

So the list of those absent and possibly able to rearm is:

Maggie
Tara
Sasha
Heath
Jesus
Plus perhaps Enid and Rosita and Eugene being up to something, and Michonne and Spencer. And Darryl.

That's quite a lot of opposition.

FoxesOnSocks · 15/11/2016 17:19

There's something comical about Negan's actions sort pantomime villainish.

FoxesOnSocks · 15/11/2016 17:20

Not the sort of comical you'd laugh and smile at though!

limitedperiodonly · 15/11/2016 18:14

Didn't spot the Morse code poster but something is coming back to me but I can't remember whether it was from this episode or the last one and now I've deleted them.

Someone, and I think it was a female character, was drumming her fingers on the table. What made me notice it was there was an Israeli drama called Prisoners Of War that Homeland was based on.

At the end of the first series were learned that the Israeli soldiers taken prisoners were communicating by drumming on the pipes in their cells in Morse, or tapping on the table in front of each other.

I knew I'd seen it before but now I can't remember who was doing it. It would make more sense for soldiers or nerds to know Morse - so Eugene, Abraham (as was), Dale (as was) and possibly Enid

I keep getting annoyed that Rick didn't twat Negan with Lucille. The only way I can justify it is thinking that Rick might think the Saviours are behind Negan and would retaliate.

I think most of them would breathe a sigh of relief and attack any Saviour who tried to avenge Negan. But Rick's not to know that. Daryl does, but he doesn't have a weapon.

I don't understand why they didn't hide some of the guns as soon as they got back to Alexandria, ditch the inventory and stash the ones to be given up around various houses. How would Negan know that they were really organised and had a locked armoury? All they'd have to do is give up the ones they stole from the Saviours plus some of their own.

DispatchReady · 15/11/2016 18:48

Agree limited they should have stashed the guns and lost the inventory, they must have known Negan would not let them keep guns. I am so frustrated that Rick is just giving in so easily, I know he is damaged by what happened and feels responsible but surely he must have a plan!

limitedperiodonly · 15/11/2016 18:58

dispatch even Gabriel had the presence of mind to dig two graves to explain away Maggie and was it Sasha who went with her to Hilltop? But surely he have said that's what he was doing?

And if he said that, why wouldn't he also say: 'And by the way, I think we should hide some of the guns.'

I do really want to like it still so will ignore plot abysses and Negan's all round annoyances.

OohNoDooEy · 15/11/2016 19:00

Guns in the empty graves?

KittyOShea · 15/11/2016 19:02

I love The Walking Dead.

I love Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

But this season has not really grabbed me yet and I spent Monday's episode fiddling with my phone where normally I wouldn't miss a second.

I think more focus is needed on any growing opposition- Ezekiel, possibly Hilltop until our heroes get their balls back.

As for Negan, the monologues need to end. If he could just look silently threatening we could (a) not get bored of the hammy speeches and (b) marvel at his hotness which I spent most of the last season of The Good Wife doing

DispatchReady · 15/11/2016 19:07

Yes good point limited, surely Gabriel would have told Rick he was doing that with the graves?! Unless he quickly did it when Negan arrived as he introduced himself a bit later?

Yes maybe guns in the graves OohNo, but again that would be mentioned? They are normally a highly organized group, even if Rick has crumbled, someone else would step up to think about what needed to be done.

Do we know how long between the first episode and Negan's visit, he said a week to them and he was early, so maybe only a couple of days and they are still in shock? But the whole of Alexandria obviously knew what had happened so you would think they would be planning. I'm wildly overthinking this, need to get a life

DontOpenDeadInside · 15/11/2016 19:23

There were 3 graves dug weren't there? One for Glenn, one for Abraham and one for "Maggie"?
Apparently Daryl might have been using Morse code, and Rick kept tapping Lucille on the floor so maybe answering him (not rewatched that bit). I tried to decode the blinks, but it was top fast for me.
I think in next week's preview where Carl sees something, it's the Morse code poster and he realises what's happened.

limitedperiodonly · 15/11/2016 19:29

Oh, three graves Don't. Yes. Obviously Glenn and Abraham and a spare quickly thought of by Gabriel for Maggie. I didn't think about that. Maybe he just did it and wouldn't have had the time to say. Negan did turn up unexpectedly early. Rick complained about that.

yumyumpoppycat · 15/11/2016 21:26

Oh my goodness, I just watched talking dead and heard Rick actor speak ...Andrew Lincoln is English, and his real surname is Clutterbuck Shock Shock

yumyumpoppycat · 15/11/2016 21:31

One thing they mentioned on talking dead is that very little time is supposed to have passed for the alexandrians which might explain the gun situation....but Maggie had stashed some guns a few episodes back? Maybe it is a fake inventory but didnt account for Spencer's stealing?

iklboo · 15/11/2016 21:40

yum - are you not UK based? Andrew Lincoln has done lots of UK TV if you want to check some out - This Life, Teachers etc

originalusernamefail · 15/11/2016 21:51

Finally caught up with this weeks ep. I always though Enid was a wolf but is it possible she's a saviour? Maybe now she's spent so much time in Alexandria she'll kill Negan to avenge Glen?

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 15/11/2016 21:53

Love the name Clutterbuck. It actually sounds deep-south American. Wink

Iklboo I am!! actually I havent seen either of those Blush but immediately I can picture him alongside those series names now you say that.

Adora I think it actually tops cumberbatch Grin

Original - in the JSS episode what was JSS? was it the names of Enid's family?

Rollergirl1 · 15/11/2016 22:56

It stands for Just Survive Somehow. I think.

FoxesOnSocks · 15/11/2016 22:58

I feel the same about Morgan (forget actors name) and I actually know he's British but I hear him speak Line of Duty and I'm shocked everything time!!!

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 15/11/2016 23:29

I think Glenn and Abe are there, they did take the bodies back with them.

Rick and Carl are the only ones left from the original group at the moment. Till Carol and Daryl come back.

FoxesOnSocks · 15/11/2016 23:45

I'm going to cry if Daryl doesn't wash soon. This probably will mean I will cry as he didn't wash when he had hot showers.

I'd like Daryl to wash. I really would.

MichonnesSamuraiSword · 16/11/2016 00:10

I'd like Daryl to wash. But to stay the hell away from Coral's Pantene and Babyliss Big hair dryer because that's NOT A GOOD LOOK CORAL!!!

The thing with Enid escaping / being a secret saviour, and the Morse code and all that - I'm just not sure TWD is quite that clever. There have been loads of blind alleys and dead ends throughout the series, where people have come up with genius theories and the reality is never as clever. And there seems to be very little in the way of plot development throughout each season.

It's a little shallow, is what I'm trying to say. So if the Morse code blinking thing is true, then that's a good turn up for the scriptwriters!

Just Googled 'Darryl blinking Morse code' and you're certainly not alone in your theory - good work folks!! Some people think he spells out 'East' as a possible direction to Negan's lair...
