Anyone watched this on Netflix? I'm only on the intro and already she creeps me out! I feel incredibly bad for her if she is innocent but my god she doesn't really do herself any favours - appears to be acting the whole time and completely not genuine! Confused

The DNA being messed up doesn't explain the complete lack of it in the room though, if anything it would put DNA where it shouldn't be, not take it away. I didn't know Amanda had a cut to her neck, even more unlikely that no DNA was found in Meredith's room if she did manage to wound Amanda in the struggle. And the 3 instead of 1 person theory is just speculation is it not?

Seems to me nobody disputes that RG is guilty of murder, even those who think AK and RS are guilty as well, so I sincerely hope he isn't successful! Just another kick in the teeth for Meredith's family.

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 11/10/2016 14:18

Rudy should serve his time. He already had years taken off for a fast track trial.
I just cannot see how...if the two were involved in the actual attack...there would be a room full of Rudy's DNA, on her bra, in her person, on the pillow and nothing from the other two. It's not possible to do a clean up removing two out of three people's DNA. Surely anyone can see that? Confused

BombadierFritz · 11/10/2016 16:20

why thefuck would you want rg's appeal to succeed???

SuperFlyHigh · 11/10/2016 17:12

Kimmy there's Solliciete's DNA on MK's bra strap FFS!

Bombardier - well because he isn't 100% guilty, if you look at AK and RS part in this.

Jelly - I will be hiding this thread - there are 2 obvious camps - Knox and RS and Kercher...

I do not have the time and effort to go through this! I just feel sorry for the Kerchers and do not for second believe the crocodile tears of AK

BombadierFritz · 11/10/2016 17:24

but he is 100% guilty of a part in a shared attack which is what he pleaded guilty to and all the evidence shows (ok it actually shows he did it alone but lucky.him he got a reduced sentence). wtf.support a convicted murderers appeal??

Jellybean83 · 11/10/2016 17:38

Again the bra strap was minuscule DNA, it wasn't found for weeks after the murder, it is pretty conclusive now that it was contaminated by the numerous people who were walking around the crime scene. No need to hide the thread, I was only asking for your insight based on all the legal people and solicitors you claim to work with, but I'm still none the wiser why you have the opinion you do.

Regardless of whether you think that AK and RS are also complicit in the murder, RG is still guilty as hell and should spend every minute of his sentence in prison.

Slight digression but regarding Knox's reaction immediately after.

My dh and I stumbled upon a horrific car accident on holiday with multiple fatalities including children while travelling. We were among the first on the scene and because of my job I had to take charge. It was really really tough.

That evening I had a shower and made us dinner and had wine. DH was reactively unscathed which surprised me as I'm the one with experience if that kind of thing. Our behaviour immediately afterwards is in no way a reflection of our long term reaction. It took me at least a year to think about it without coming out in a cold sweat. However, on the surface we had a romantic dinner and carried on with our holiday.

Amazing how easy it is to make people look guilty when you think about it. Anyway, as you were and dirty for the digression....

bertiesgal · 11/10/2016 17:40
  • sorry not dirty, my goodness that looks inappropriate! Blush
SuperFlyHigh · 11/10/2016 17:47

jelly I worked with 3 firms I can give you the names, well not here!

I don't know any barristers and wouldn't waste their time asking this q. If you search the thread the students in their class or one who had I think a sister who is a barrister they thought AK and RS were both guilty!

I'm hiding or ignoring the thread because I'm bored by it to be honest.

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 11/10/2016 18:21

Oh please. You lost my respect as soon as you hoped Rudy would win an appeal but you clearly have NOT read the facts of the case. If you had, you would know that the bra clasp was compromised evidence.

Jellybean83 · 11/10/2016 18:39

Hide the thread all you like, your input on this read like the Daily Mail comments section, not as someone who has some insight into professionals opinions! Everything you're using as a basis for their guilt has been discounted.

And I agree that hoping RG wins his appeal is frankly disgusting!

Buttercupsandaisies · 11/10/2016 18:43

She lied a lot though following arrest from what I've read- both of them did, from blaming Patrick, to their whereabouts, etc etc. They both lied from the start - the whole reason they were suspected is because their alibi/statements didn't add up

Buttercupsandaisies · 11/10/2016 18:45

Didn't RS say Merediths Dna was on the knife in his flat because she was there when in fact she had never been?

BeenThereDoneThatForgotten · 11/10/2016 19:02

I watched it last week. My main thoughts were on the absolutely disgusting and shameless behaviour of Nick Pisa. Salacious headlines etc and at the very end he turns round and says how awful the Italian police had been in compromising the evidence. I wanted to whack the fucking hypocrite.

BeenThereDoneThatForgotten · 11/10/2016 19:07

The whole thing was a trial by media with all the ACTUAL forensic evidence pointing to Rudy Guede, who had subsequently fled the country. The accusations against AKs boss came from the Police who didn't believe her explanation re a text message and hounded her all night without a lawyer or translator til she "imagined" something. The whole thing was ridiculous. I feel so sorry for Meredith's family to have been put through it all.

Beebeeeight · 11/10/2016 20:33

IT just shows we as a society haven't moved on much from the Salem witch hunts.

MiddleClassProblem · 11/10/2016 20:34

Haven't RTFT but watched this yesterday. I have no idea what happened to Meredith and feel so sad for her family. I reckon Knox is innocent but has a narsasitic personality and some social things too (not quite sociopath but something on that scale). I feel that because of how she came across in the talks to camera and particularly that phone call to a friend, who I think is similar, might be how their circle works. The focus being on her gains a wonderful life with her boyfriend from her friend rather than her room mate being murdered is bizarre. Her friend probably comes off worse tbh.

But they didn't find a murder weapon. Totally botched crime scene.

Rudy's story of seeing Knox and possibly Raf doesn't add up. I know some people poo for a really long time but surely he would have heard a scuffle in that time or if a quick poo how would they have the time to do it?

And that slimy reporter as our representative for the press? Great...

BeenThereDoneThatForgotten · 11/10/2016 20:57

Rudy, when his mate called him on the run, said "Amanda wasn't there" He only came up with the alternative during his fast track trial. She was all over the papers by this point. Logic, and the forensic evidence says he did it and the others were guilty of nothing other than odd confessions under coercion by a prosecution fixated on a "sex game gone wrong". If there was actually convincing forensic evidence that they did it, they would still be in prison. All the newspaper reporting is no more than smoke and mirrors.

BeenThereDoneThatForgotten · 11/10/2016 21:02

In fact the fecking Daily Fail misunderstood the appeal result and actually published an article on line with a "guilty" verdict with comments from people supposedly present. As the verdict was "not guilty" one wonders how they came by such comments. Unless they made them all up in advance of course. So that brings in to question any thing they ever publish as tru fax ever.

ToastDemon · 11/10/2016 21:41

I don't think Amanda Knox is a narcissist. I agree that she seems to have Asperger's traits.
The whole trial against them was farcical from the start. Really the deranged imaginings of one loon that got completely out of hand. I've followed the case with interest for many years and just watched the Netflix documentary.
I find it worrying that people assume someone's guilt because they're a bit odd.

ToastDemon · 11/10/2016 21:55

And I'm a bit shocked at anyone wishing Guede a successful appeal. His DNA was found inside Meredeth ffs.

BeenThereDoneThatForgotten · 11/10/2016 22:04

I saw something on FB about the release of the film. The comments were extraordinary! About her sheer evilness and how she should die, never a thing about Raffaele or Rudy Guede. She was hung out to dry based on nothing apart from her being a bit odd.

Lizzzar · 14/10/2016 19:37

I haven't watched this documentary , but the written report of the Supreme Court justices who finally let her off states that Meredith was brutally murdered by Guede, he did not act alone, and that Amanda was definitely present in the house during the murder and then subsequently lied throughout her interrogation, giving a false alibi and accusing an innocent man. It is pretty clear that they think she was at least guilty of involvement in a murder or manslaughter, but as these were not the original charges and it would now be almost impossible in extradite her, she got off. The DNA was questioned, but DNA is frequently questioned. It does not necessarily mean someone was not involved. She was not 'found innocent' and I think this documentary is upsetting to Meredith's family and in poor taste.

BeenThereDoneThatForgotten · 14/10/2016 22:14

This is not how I recall it at all. Do you have a link to this?
