Anyone watched this on Netflix? I'm only on the intro and already she creeps me out! I feel incredibly bad for her if she is innocent but my god she doesn't really do herself any favours - appears to be acting the whole time and completely not genuine! Confused

She is very odd but there's not much that links her to it.

I don't think she was affected at all by Merediths death and that's why she was so carefree during the trial. She's hardly going to sit and cry her eyes out over someone she knew for a few weeks.

Assamassa · 04/10/2016 20:02

Carefree? I would have thought 99.9% of people would be extremely traumatised about something so brutal happening in their house Confused

schoolchange123 · 04/10/2016 20:04

I agree but she didn't act that way to me. She didn't seem very bothered about Meredith.

SuperFlyHigh · 04/10/2016 20:05

The Aspbergers would make sense. I did think she was involved in some way, not sure how but certainly in some way.

My ex boss a solicitor was also convinced she was guilty too!

SuperFlyHigh · 04/10/2016 20:06

schoolchange why if she was so not bothered by meredith's death did she want to visit her grave in UK?! Hmm

schoolchange123 · 04/10/2016 20:07

Chill out. It's just my opinion.

SuperFlyHigh · 04/10/2016 20:09

Strange opinion if you ask me!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 04/10/2016 20:10

She didn't look carefree to me.

Just realised that I missed this all because I had a bad accident and was in hospital/ recovering when this all happened and by the time I came home I didn't really pick up on it.

I watched it last night. I still don't have a clue what happened.

On one hand, I can't imagine a guy and girl who just met five days before raping and murdering someone. With another too. But there is evidence which wasn't included in the documentary that shows they are definitely lying.

For instance they said they slept half ten till ten. His phone had been used at six and music listened to for half an hour. She'd been seen outside a shop then went and bought cleaning products when it opened at six amish. They said they were surfing the net and watching movies on it the night if the murder at his. Yet his Internet hadn't been used that night.

Strange. I don't like her or the police detective. Both seemed strange and like bullshitters

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 04/10/2016 20:16

She didn't know her but she seemed distraught by the whole thing to me. There's only so many tears you can shed imo, you start to just shut down instead after a while.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 04/10/2016 20:17

The police detective was a bumbling fool.

Comejointhemurder · 04/10/2016 20:20

I'm not 100% convinced that anyone convicted in regards to this awful offence is guilty.

But Amanda Knox is a deeply unsympathetic character. But being an unsympathetic character isn't indicative of being guilty of anything other than not responding to an event in the way that other people would think is 'right'.

I think it's odd to be buying underwear to shag your BF in very shortly after your roomate was brutally murdered in your home. Also odd to have a phone conversation with your friend a day or two after saying something along the lines of (paraphrasing) 'having a shit time with all the Police and all' but expressing no real emotion about just how hideous the whole situation was. Could be shock but in all interviews and documentaries I can't say I thought (in my own personal opinion obviously) that Amanda ever demonstrated real distress around Merediths death or what her family suffered unless in relation to herself and how she'd suffered as the accused but again, that might be all you CAN say as an accused.

She's a deeply unsympathetic character IMO. But I think she was unfairly demonised in the press and the original murder investigation and prosecution was a fucking shambles and clearly a desire to charge someone/a few people in a time of worldwide interest and pressure.

MrsHam13 · 04/10/2016 20:25

She said she bought underwear because she wasn't allowed access to her flat to any of her clothes or underwear so had none.

SuperFlyHigh · 04/10/2016 20:25

comejoin a lot of people including Kercher's website still feel Knox and Sollicitio are guilty BUT it was botched...

Must admit Knox did a 100% Oscar winning performance when she was eventually acquitted.

Crystal15 · 04/10/2016 20:28

She plays on her persona in the media to make money. Simple as. I think she's innocent but happy to make a living off thr back of it.

The kissing thing would've been odd if it was a full on snog, but they were just pecks. They both looked traumatised.

Wrt the phonecall to her friend- to me it seemed like her friend was the unsympathetic one and wanted to brush it all under the carpet and talk about the new boyfriend.

iisme · 04/10/2016 20:34

I don't think kissing her boyfriend was odd at all. He was comforting her. It looked very natural.

I think the cartwheel thing was exaggerated. She says that she was doing yoga after being cooped up for hours. I also think that judging people's guilt on their behaviour immediately after highly traumatic events is ridiculous - people do behave very oddly in high stress situations.

albertcampionscat · 04/10/2016 20:35

She didn't turn cartwheels. After a long wait in the police station she got talking to an officer about yoga. He asked her to show her a pose. As for kissing her boyfriend - there's one fairly chaste peck on the lips.

SuperFlyHigh · 04/10/2016 20:36

Coconutty can't link easily but google search for Kercher website shows their website re getting justice for Meredith.

I do not think she murdered her, but was an accomplice certainly complicit and with Solliciete too. Plus the other guy (forget his name). Remember also Knox and Soliciete blamed the first black bar man and were more than happy to see him serve time when he hadn't done it.

EweAreHere · 04/10/2016 20:38

I don't care if she's likeable or unlikeable, and she's not an actress, so I imagine it's an awkward movie.

I do care about the gross miscarriage of justice she endured at the hands of the Italian 'justice' system as there was no way she was involved in the murder of Meredith Kercher. They destroyed the poor girl's life, and her ex-boyfriend's as well, and people still treat her like crap.

I hope she's able to move on someday.

Theres also a theory that it must of been more than one person because there was absolutely no sign of her having lashed out trying to protect herself. So they believe she was held down by other's whilst raped. I'd of thought the nick under jaw would indicate the knife was held there and that would be enough to stop her lashing out?
