The Fall is back on RTE 1 in Sunday at 9.30
Jamie Dornan survives I think.
Looking forward to it.

Will Gillian Anderson still be wearing those lush silk blouses?
Anyone know where they are from?

Everysongbird
I agree.

I think Katie will do something to her friend (the one she called a bitch on the phone because she wouldn't go to the hospital). Paul will put her up to it. He had already hinted at it in last series that said friend would meet a bad end and deserved it, as I recall. I'm sure he intended K to do something if not himself

The swimming pool in season 1 was The Robinson Centre, now defunct due to asbestos discovery. In Season 2 it was The Hilton Horel, Templpatrick . Season 3 pool yet to be disclosed... Not that I am obsessed with swimming pools or anything...

treaclesoda · 02/10/2016 01:22

I've been In the pool at the Hilton in Templepatrick and I didn't even recognize it!

MitzyLeFrouf · 02/10/2016 04:59

Shame they couldn't have called it a day at the end of series 1.

Optimist1 · 02/10/2016 09:00

When we were discussing series 1 I think I was questioning why it's actually called The Fall, and am now convinced that it'll be Stella obsessing herself out of a job.

Cleebope · 02/10/2016 09:40

Pooh yes, that would make sense and be a fab season 3. I loved the slow burner of e pis ode 1, great acting and imagery. Love everything about this show.

Cleebope · 02/10/2016 09:41

Meant oooh yes, def NOT pooh, naughty autocorrection

sisterignatius · 02/10/2016 18:53

I'm going to stick my neck out and say I'm rather tired of Gillian Anderson's character - the slightly hushed creepy way she speaks, her surreal self-control and those frankly ridiculous heels she seems to spend hours/days in. There is nothing about her that seems plausible. Without the Jamie Dornan plot to keep the story going, her character is too exposed and I'm finding her dull rather than enigmatic.

FoxesOnSocks · 02/10/2016 19:23

I'd assumed it was called The Fall because it was in Belfast. Mind you I've not got a theory why it's singular and not the usual plural.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 02/10/2016 19:29

I thought it was 'the fall' of a good, family man.

I'd assumed it was called The Fall because it was in Belfast

Can you explain?Blush

JacquettaWoodville · 02/10/2016 19:31

The Falls Road is mentioned a few times. I assumed it was a reference to that and to the 'fall' of Paul Spector.

MyCatIsTryingToKillMe · 02/10/2016 20:28

I assumed it was a reference to The Falls Road also.

FoxesOnSocks · 02/10/2016 21:11

Oh sorry DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen I mean because of The Falls Road. But not I actually think about it it seems unlikely as it's a singular, The Fall and not The Falls!!

Cleebope · 02/10/2016 21:18

Nothing to do with The Falls Road, it barely features and that would be twee and shallow.I think both characters will downfall together, plus a few others. Optimist will be right there.

FoxesOnSocks · 02/10/2016 21:22

*now I actually think about it. Not not!

I'm sitting here hoping the FIL goes to bed very soon so I can turn episode 2 on!!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 02/10/2016 22:46

Is episode 2 on already?

Maudlinmaud · 02/10/2016 22:48

Its on rte on sunday nights.

FoxesOnSocks · 02/10/2016 22:52

If you're in Ireland (or get RTE) then episode 2 was just on

Room101isWhereIUsedToLive · 02/10/2016 23:06

But seriously though (end of episode one) why was Stella making cum faces at Spector? Was that meant to convey desire? Didn't quite work for me.

hollyisalovelyname · 03/10/2016 07:39

No spoilers please.
UK viewers have to wait til Thursday to watch Ep 2.
It's very slow and tries so hard to be atmospheric.
Genevieve O' Reilly, the investigating policewoman is so beautiful. She gives GA a run for her money as an ice cold blonde.
She was in the series The Secret about the Coleraine based dentist who murdered his wife, starring James Nesbitt.

the slightly hushed creepy way she speaks

I agree (a bit, coz I still love her) but what is with the whispering? I was straining to hear what she was saying in Ep 1.

Thought the first episode was a bit too
slow burning and had to check I wasn't watching Holby City by mistake. Hope it picks up a bit in Ep 2.

For me the real wrong'un in all this is that beardy police chief. He's a right bastard.

champersandgin · 04/10/2016 11:20

According to Wikipedia "The title is a reference to the line 'Falls the shadow' from the poem "The Hollow Men" by T. S. Eliot."
