The Fall is back on RTE 1 in Sunday at 9.30
Jamie Dornan survives I think.
Looking forward to it.

Will Gillian Anderson still be wearing those lush silk blouses?
Anyone know where they are from?

Definitely the evil Paul is starting to re-emerge. I wonder if he was doubting his son's paternity when he asked the nurse if they looked alike.

alltoomuchrightnow · 21/10/2016 01:12

So, who was the guy in the van (who took him from the hospital) that he felt he (PS) may have met before? The guy obviously had judging by his response but wouldn't tell him.

Also am I wrong in thinking.. as I recall, in series one there was a sub plot involving family of Alice Monroe? Did she have a dodgy brother and / or father? Wasn't there a scene with prostitutes being beaten up linked to this? Wonder why this story within a story was forgotten.. surely must be making a reappearance or what would be the point?

Also wonder why Daisy didn't report Katie for the attack on her

OlennasWimple · 21/10/2016 04:36

I loved that last episode (just watched on iPlayer)! Definitely old Paul coming back - he's faking it.

Glad Katie is locked up, probably for his own good.

Poor Sally Ann - where are her parents though? And Social Services?

Stella cries!

And sending Merlin and another plod off to London on a flight leaving from City airport in an hour was slightly ridiculous... Why not say "leaving this afternoon" or similar?

Article on Stella's wardrobe Smile

OlennasWimple · 21/10/2016 04:38

alltoomuch - there were a couple of sub-plots in the first two series that haven't made much of a reappearance this time round. I'm not too sorry not to have the Alice Munroe and para storyliines to follow too, though I guess Jim drinking in the loo is hinting towards some of that...?

MyCatIsTryingToKillMe · 21/10/2016 06:42

Why didn't Stella tell the doc about the note he threw away? Someone else seeing it there could have corroborated if it was useful evidence but instead she sneakily picks it up and keeps it. Gah!

Previews for next week look like he might escape? There was definite evil smirk to the other patient so Paul is 'back'.

VashtaNerada · 21/10/2016 07:04

I'm loving this series, it's so different to the previous ones but I like the psychological aspect to it, it's taken an interesting turn. Loved the conversation between Rose and Stella, Stella is such an interesting mixture of strength and fragility. And I think you're all MAD for finding him attractive!!! I genuinely can't see past the fact that he's a psycho, he makes my skin crawl. So sorry Jamie, if you do ever ask me to have sex with you it will have to be a no Grin

hollyisalovelyname · 21/10/2016 07:26

Why did Spector drop the note ?
How likely is it that Stella would be the one to find it ?
Will the nurse help 'spring' him ?

Olennas thank you for the link to the article on Stella's wardrobe - I personally preferred the silk satin blouses and colours of the clothes in the previous seasons of 'The Fall'
I don't think burgundy is a good colour on her.
Is there a new stylist for this series?

I agree with you Vashta, I think he's shark eyed and any thoughts of his attractiveness are more than overcome by his general diabolicalness!

What do you think of the lawyers claims that Stella seduced him into a confession? The point that they might be both attracted to one another is still being played and I'm not really comfortable with that, particularly for her. Certainly, everything she says to others would contradict that, but it's still lingering there.

Rrross1ges · 21/10/2016 08:21

He was clutching his stomach a bit last night and I wondered if he was going to fake complications from surgery to get back to Belfast General so he could escape.

And I've come to the conclusion that it was odd that he didn't ask to see Olivia or Sally Ann.

Was the bloke taking him to hospital not one of the fellas who was in the fucked up raid on their house where they burst a pipe and left footprints all over the stairs?

Cherrypie32 · 21/10/2016 08:43

Following Rose & Stella's convo last night, I think the girls he murdered he chose because they looked like Rose, because she was 'the one'. He's never got over her, is it her hair he has a lock of or do we def know it's his mothers? I think the nurse has to be his next/last victim because of this and he has been grooming her to have feelings for him. He's going to harm himself to go back to hospital.

diddl · 21/10/2016 08:46

I did like the bit when he was being taken to the psychiatric place & he asked the guy if he knew him & he said "you tell me".

Nearly slipped up there!

Anyone know who that actor was?

Ulysses · 21/10/2016 09:21

The other guy is DC Glen-something? He was partnered with DC Gail McNally and is play by Emmett Scanlan (previously Hollyoaks).

I rather like the way he was with Spector, everyone else has been far too nice to him!

He called himself the Belfast Strangler to the other patient so I wonder if this was a slip up, as it seems unlikely he heard it in hospital.

LocalEditorMerton · 21/10/2016 09:30

I thought that the shower scene (in the secure unit) was pivotal to the plot and laden with symbolism. Almost as if he was washing away vulnerable Paul and emerging as evil Paul once more.

I think the police escort guy was involved in the raid and possibly even in the arrest scene when they cornered him at the end of series 2?

wideboy26 · 21/10/2016 09:34

When the other patient (Mark Bailey) first appeared in Spector's doorway, I thought it was Dec of 'Ant and' fame. Completely spoiled the drama for me as I wondered momentarily "What on earth are they doing in a high tension psychological drama?" Is no tv programme immune from their presence?

diddl · 21/10/2016 09:43

Thank you Ulysses.

Think I must be thinking of him from previous series of this as I don't seem to have watched anything else that he was in!BlushGrin

Might his lawyer have used the "Belfast Strangler" term?

Ulysses · 21/10/2016 10:02

I can't imagine the nurse will feature anymore. I think she was used to portray Spector as this vulnerable and sympathetic character, who still manages to allure others. Her similar looks to the victims were probably there to create tension, to suggest she might be next on the cards, but it would be awfully tenuous for them to meet again.

I'm not convinced that they would use what is a tabloid term diddl. They seems to present the facts of the case to him by going through the police charges and the confessional stuff, all very professional. I guess it opens up whether he is suffering from amnesia or not in an ambiguous way.

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 21/10/2016 10:11

I think Stella's reaction last night, calling him diabolical and that he destroys everything he comes into contact with, makes it clear she is not attracted to him. I don't even think she's fascinated by the psychology of him anymore. I think after Sally-Ann's attempted murder/suicice she just wants him locked up but knows he's going to pull every trick in the book to avoid it

Ulysses · 21/10/2016 10:13

I don't see how he can kill any of his usual victims - there's growing evidence that he committed crimes before 2006 and Rose could testify to his behaviour/kinks when they were lovers. He's in a secure unit so I doubt if he could escape but you never know though!

I've seen preview scenes/photos from the next episodes so I think I know where some of this may go but don't want to spoil it for others!
