reshowing tonight on More 4

One thing which always annoys me about Location and Relocation is that they hardly ever have a struggling family on a budget.

And they almost never get into the local schools thing - even when the buyers have children, it's hardly mentioned. I mean, round here it is THE deciding factor on houses for a lot of people and the reason people decide to move. In Philspeak, it's a total "deal-breaker"!

They'd be saying patiently, "YES, Kirstie, I can see it's a beautifully-modernised 5-bedroom deatched with a wonderful garage, superb kitchen and amazing bathroom, but it's in the bloody catchment for bloody St. Herod's! So NO FLIPPING THANKS!!"

expatinscotland · 02/02/2007 14:15

'hardly ever'.

try never.

the 'budgets' of all their clients are a miracle to most people in this country.

i tried watching it a bit, but it was the same crap song over and over again.

yawn.

UnquietDad · 02/02/2007 14:18

'Tis true, it seems like never. I think they did have a young couple in Bristol looking for a terrace at about £90,000 a few series back. That was the closest to reality I've seen.

expatinscotland · 02/02/2007 14:19

I tell a lie!

I saw them with one couple looking in Edinburgh about 3 years ago for £150,000.

And they found them a fixer-upper in the next county.

expatinscotland · 02/02/2007 14:21

If I want to watch a bunch of stuck up cows, I'll walk outside my office and stand on the street.

Saves having to listen to Kirsty and Phil and their 'clients'.

LittleBoSheep · 02/02/2007 17:51

We caught the repeat last night (just had to after all this!) Hubby thought he was "not as bad as they said" I thought if he says comments like "spinster pad" to her on camera WHAT does he say in private

What does expect to see out of the window in the countryside...generally you see gardens...hedges...cows - my theory is he was secretly hoping for the dreamboys!

I thought she was quite nice all I could think is "how could you sh*g that goaty bearded pretentious idiot"

Reading the latest on this thread got me thinking about her & her daughter - Kirstie VERY much said SHE (the woman, not K) wanted to be able to see HER grandson, so it's obvious he couldn't give a toss (which is twunty even if it's not his biological grandchild) & yes, I bet the daughter loathes him!

turquoise · 02/02/2007 19:17

I so hope they do a follow up show in a year or so to see how the Devon idyll is going.
Or Grand Designs, or anything really that allows us to enjoy the wankweevil infliciting his goatee eco chic bollox on the locals.

Aloha · 02/02/2007 19:26

I like Kirsty. She always hates the right people. She doesn't seem in the least stuck up to me. Posh, yes. Stuck up, no.

AllieBongo · 02/02/2007 19:27

when is sat watching this, i said to dh " I bet there is a thread on mumsnet about this gipper" thank you for proving me right

Aloha · 02/02/2007 19:34

I thought that too

AllieBongo · 02/02/2007 19:35

the pretentious shite just oozed out of his pie hole (bypassing his beard that looked like a brazillian waxed fanjo)

Kirsty and Phil are allright enough - except for Kirsty's naffo clothes.

But their 'clients' are mostly twats and cows.

I'll bet Kirsty would love to tell more than a few of them just to stuff it.

Most of them need a slap, not a new house.

expatinscotland · 03/02/2007 00:16

Afraid I don't see what's sexy about Phil, though, and there have been many threads on MN about his sexiness.

But then again, I don't find Gordon Brown or coyote tenors attractive, either .

FotheringtonTomas · 03/02/2007 00:17

apparently phil was a major ibiza raver in his day, that's where he met his wife.

Aloha · 03/02/2007 00:18

Expat, who is your celebrity crush then?

expatinscotland · 03/02/2007 00:19

That's going to be Dr. Kovac from ER for me.

Swoooooonnn.

Oh, and I certainly wouldn't throw Clive Owen or Hugh Jackman out of bed.
