Although I'm old enough to remember it first time round, I've just ploughed my way through all five series on sky box sets. I'd forgotten how good it was, I'm looking forward to watching the new series when it starts again in the autumn.

It wasn't really odd that Ramona want mentioned, she was the nanny from about16 years ago.

"- but totally agree, Adam would not have dumped Matthew in some god-awful boarding school to work on the other side of the world, "

Really?

I always thought that Adam was a selfish immature prat with no sense of responsibility.

I could see him doing just that.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 06/09/2016 08:57

Me too,he wasnt a great husband tbh.

Bellini12 · 06/09/2016 09:05

Did anyone with cbbc age kids at home notice that the son Matthew was played by Cal Spellman (sp?) who presents the cbbc chart show.

DadOnIce · 06/09/2016 09:05

I thought he was going to say "...take thee, Rachel!" at the altar. Which, as a joke, would have worked on several levels...

Am I missing something or does the foxy landlady character not have a name yet? Is there a good reason for this, I wonder?

SirChenjin · 06/09/2016 09:08

Yes, really, hand on heart, Guides honour Grin. I think he would have kept his son physically close to him, one way or another, for Rachel's sake.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 06/09/2016 09:10

I recognise Matthew from somewhere but it's not CBBC.

Happyinthehazeofadrunkenhour · 06/09/2016 09:11

I loved it! Such brilliant actors..and the new ones are looking interesting too. Fab stuff !

southeastdweller · 06/09/2016 09:16

Matthew was in Cucumber.

Ujjayi · 06/09/2016 09:17

I came on here to enquire after Josh but you've already solved that one. So, second question: what happened to Jo? The Australian that Pete married?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 06/09/2016 09:18

Oh yes, thank you, of course he was!

Jo buggered off and left Pete cow!!

CalmItKermitt · 06/09/2016 09:22

I loved it. Cba to analyse it.

Yes what IS air bnb lady called? I bet her name turns out to be Rachel.

Aworldofmyown · 06/09/2016 09:27

I think he would have left him, he is fundamentally selfish.

Aworldofmyown · 06/09/2016 09:28

Oh and Jo shagged Lee (Richard Armitage) so Pete divorced her.

squoosh · 06/09/2016 10:22

Brilliant return to form I thought.

I hadn't watched any cold Feet since it was last broadcast but it all slipped into space nicely.

Poor old Matthew though being ditched in a boarding school while Dad swans around Singapore having a rare old time. Like those kids from the days of the empire who only saw their India dwelling parents once every two years.

squoosh · 06/09/2016 10:24

I don't think any of them have aged that badly at all. They just look their age. Better that than loads of obvious lip fillers and botox.

DadOnIce · 06/09/2016 10:28

I was wondering that too CalmitKermitt! I can't even find her name given in the cast.

ItsJustPaint · 06/09/2016 10:29

Anyone know where the boarding school Matt goes to is in real life ?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 06/09/2016 10:30

Hmmmmm Adam has had a hair transplant and some dodgy botox by the look of it. I'd be surprised if Karen and Jenny haven't had a tweak too but ikwym they looked ok and not.. plastic!

squoosh · 06/09/2016 10:31

Yeah but there's nothing really obvious. If it was American TV they'd all have faces like inflatable dinghies.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 06/09/2016 10:32

They wouldGrin

SirChenjin · 06/09/2016 10:35

And on that note...has anyone seen Renee Zellweger recently?? Shock Why, oh why, oh why Sad

BestIsWest · 06/09/2016 10:40

I enjoyed it though I did get bored towards the end of the original Cold Feet. Loved Karen and David, they were always my favourite characters, though I still find it a bit unbelievable that David would be friends with the other two men.

I've loved Hermione Norris in just about everything she's done. She was terrific in Spooks.

Also, what's going on with James Nesbitt's eyes? Looked a bit odd to me.

shins · 06/09/2016 11:17

I could never believe any woman could be attracted to James Nesbitt, let alone a young beautiful rich one! He reminds me of a certain kind of smug slimy Irish man-child who's been spoiled by his mother (I'm Irish before anyone hops on me)

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 06/09/2016 11:57

About Matthew, I found this

which makes sense and fits in with Adam's man-child personality. Can anyone remind me what he does for a living?

It was from this piece which contains some spoilers
www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/cold-feet-2016-cast-spoilers-new-series-start-date_uk_57cd56cee4b01e35922babd4
info included there about some more new characters too.

I think the characters of David and Robyn have aged the most, which fits in with their disenchantment and Karen has probably aged best, she often looked tired and dark around the eyes in the previous series I thought, which again, fitted events in her life. She's perkier and less jaded than I remember, where David's no longer on the ascendant.

I enjoyed it for what it is and worked hard to suspend my disbelief over Angela's likely interest in Adam Hmm Grin
