I'd prefer it if Len didn't have the deciding vote in the event of a tie. It'd be more fun and dramatic if it reverted to the public vote. That's the only thing I'd change though!

Didn't Len miss a show because of his operation, was that on a results show?

Kimmy, it wasn't till after I posted I realised it was Blackpool rather than the other places! lol. I do enjoy the show, despite my post, but I wished the format was a bit a little different, although its hard to think of any other themes I guess ( Brexit special?) They did have a guest slot with Jennifer Grey once of Dirty Dancing fame.

I reckon the deciding vote should go to Darcey, she's usually fair., if a bit generous.

Craig has been there since series 1, not sure about Bruno, so based on that I think Craig will be head judge. Also Darcey will do the whole "oh I don't know what to do, I don't know who to choose, poor me" thing, whereas Craig is more sure of his decisions and bases them on dancing rather than personality or popularity.

Bruno and Craig have been there from the start with Len. The "female" judge is the only one that has changed over the series.

I do think the head judge needs to be a ballroom/latin expert which Craig and Bruno are not. Yes they have a lot of dance experience but they are both from stage backgrounds so don't necessarily know the finer points of technique etc.

It's one of the things that annoys me about Darcy - she often makes comments that are plain wrong in the context of ballroom/latin dance. Ballet is very very different in terms of how you move and takes next to no account of partner dancing.

Yes that's true about Craig being fair. Darcey did a whole programme dancing\learning ballroom and show dances so I think she does know, she's not perfect of course , then neither is Len, they all have different approaches and backgrounds.

There is a lot of partnering in ballet ( i trained in it ) but obviously not as much as the traditional ballroom dances .

Watched a documentary about Tom Daley yesterday and his trainer sent him to do some ballet - and he was really good at it. Think he'd be brilliant on SCD - although he does veer sometimes towards being annoying.

For those who love Kevin and Karen, they will be on the next episode of All Star Mr & Mrs or whatever else it's called.

I think the judges are well balanced. Len I think knows about most things and sees it from a traditional view point, Darcey tends to be more about how it looks, Bruno and .craig fall in the middle with different expertise each, with Craig offering the most constructive criticism.

My 2nd child is due in September so I am hoping to be glued to the sofa breastfeeding with full control of the remote while my DH fetches drinks and snacks

Am embarrassingly a bit excited about Will Young being on. Had a crush on him when he won Pop Idol.

I'm going to miss Len when he does go. I read that he is still going to do the DWS in America.Maybe they pay more and he finds the commuting tiring as he's in his 70s He's such an EE, you'd think he'd prefer to stay in Blighty

DWTS do pay more, and there are also two series a year. Hence why Artem and now Gleb left Strictly to do it. There's also a British pro called Emma Slater who was offered a pro spot on Strictly in 2013 but chose to join DWTS instead.

I've watched DWTS, and personally I don't feel it's as good as Strictly. It's a bit tacky and very American. Derek Hough was really the only decent pro, actually he was exceptionally good which is why he won so many times, but now he's left and the show is just lame as a result.

I strongly suspect Len has a condo in Florida too. He has that permatanned air.

So, who's the celeb everyone is going to fall in love with this year?
I love Will and always will; but not sure he will get everyone's hearts a flutter like Jay and Harry in previous years.
Greg is gorgeous and I hope he lives up to expectations.
Can't see any other male eye candy ;) oh Danny Mac! He's looks lovely in pics but never seen him act/be interviewed.
The girls are all gorgeous this year. It'll be interesting to see if Laura Whitmore will be paired with one of the new younger pros, Twitter is already predicting a 'showmance' for her.

I like the rest, we'll those I've heard of. I run our work Strictly Sweepstake so can't wait to see who's paired with who. I am hoping that Brenda has a goodie this year as he's my favourite (although Gorka (?!) looks rather delicious!)

runny I liked Emma's choreo for Bill. She has had an Artem-like run of bad luck on the show though, culminating in that teenage mutant ninja turtle themed and costumed jive She did meet Sasha on DWTS though so doubt she regrets it but I think she could have won Strictly with the right sleb.
