I did enjoy that. Could not comment as filmon was being precarious and still have Laura to see when it gets put up but I bloody loved Judge Rinder. He was my favourite. Thought Anton did rather nicely with Lesley. They have many shorter women this year but as Anton is one of the tallest, it was remiss to pair those two together. Same for Brendan and Anastacia.
I knew as soon as Ore started Len would be pissed off. But he danced well. I assume he was considered as good as a pro. Would not go that far (position of back/bum?) but very good and worth more than a 6 ffs.
Greg deserved better marks than Peter Andre. So not letting it go ;-)
That said, did not see real kicks and flicks. Need to watch again.
Not sure Nat was expecting so positive feedback. (Again am thinking poor Ainsley whose G.I/swing jive was underscored).
Can anyone throw Judge a vote for me?! (I am in Germany). Thanks x

bananafish · 23/09/2016 22:14

Blimey Gorgeous Greg, eh? I think Natalie is a great dancer but her choreography is really dull. That's going to grate on me.

Joanne looks fantastic and I've got a hunch she's to going to produce some very good, interesting dances with Ore, fingers crossed.

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 23/09/2016 22:16

Yay! runny nearly a X-post there. You have written what I was thinking. :-)

ellenanora5 · 23/09/2016 22:22

Loved it all, Natalie is my favourite female dancer so glad it went well for them, Brendan is my favourite male so hoping him and Anastacia are great, can't wait for tomorrow night Grin

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 23/09/2016 22:29

Someone needs to stop me. Judge is now on youtube and I cannot stop watching it, even if, yes he does look a bit like Mick Jagger mixed with Vicky Pollard when her mouth is open. Tis Awesome. He is awesome.

MsInterpret · 23/09/2016 22:39

LOVE natalie so vvv glad Greg was pretty good. Grin I did think judges we're over-generous in their comments...as they usually are with Olympians.

Did anyone catch Natalie's 'Fuck, yeah!' As she came up the steps?! And then quick oops face!

AnyoneButAndre · 23/09/2016 22:48

No voting this week Kimmy.

I liked Ore marking his position unequivocally on the subject of the Curse of Strictly, but I didn't like the faffing about.

Judge Rinder was highly entertaining but I didn't like the fact that they're calling him "Judge Rinder" on the scoreboard where everyone else is referred to by their first name. He's completely Marmite but since you can't vote against people on Strictly that won't do him any harm.

HalleLouja · 23/09/2016 22:56

Completely off topic but many moons ago I was friends with the Judge and seeing him with his chest out disturbed me.

Did really enjoy tonight. Greg did really well and am now a bit of an Ore fan. I knew Len wouldn't be happy with all that faffing but the man has charisma and dance ability.

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 23/09/2016 22:58

My other half just asked me was he Judge like Judge Reinhold or a real judge. I said a judge like Judge Judy Garland I like the name Rob though.
I guess I just like the sheer joy of seeing someone suppress any inhibitions.
The Ore Meet The Wife segment was awkward as a threesome But she does look just like Joanne. I like Ore, but it will be interesting to see how audiences take to him. We tend not to appreciate confidence, swagger or self esteem, everyone has to be mock humble to avoid accusations of arrogance. The underdog trope.

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 23/09/2016 23:01

Halle was tonight the first time you'd had the pleasure of his bare naked chest then?! Gotta give the guy credit for chutzpah.

theliverpoolone · 23/09/2016 23:09

There was a lot of over marking tonight, I thought. The girl on first with Giovanni was well overmarked, and so then they had to keep high as most of the others were better than her. In earlier years, week one only ever mustered up 3's and 4's, so there'd be room to sufficiently improve as the weeks went on.

Loved Judge Rinder - have never seen his programme, but he's my favourite so far! As someone else has said though, why can't he just be known as Robert Hmm

HalleLouja · 24/09/2016 06:33

Kimmy I had been swimming with him so must have seen it before but he definitely wasn't so buff then. Plus he had a girlfriend.

HalleLouja · 24/09/2016 06:35

He was definitely a Rob when I knew him. He always was lovely and funny though.

MrsCK · 24/09/2016 06:43

Anyone know why u can't watch strictly on I player?!

Theromanempire · 24/09/2016 08:28

halle he had a girlfriend ShockShock

CotswoldStrife · 24/09/2016 09:27

I've never watched Judge Rinder but he was so entertaining to watch, even if not technically perfect. The first girl (Laura) was well overmarked, even I mentioned her bent knees! I felt that some of the others were undermarked compared to her. Ore is a great dancer but I had doubts about Joanne's choreography and it was obvious that Len wouldn't like the faffing, so why do it? Lost easy marks there.

I like Naga, her feet were a bit wobbly though and as a PP said, I also said that Lesley was too short for Anton (and that her head was too close to his chest). Can work on the head placement, but the topline is going to be tricky because of the height difference I think.

On FB last night, Rinder was far and away the favourite followed by Lesley and Gret. Looking forward to tonight.

UnGoogleable · 24/09/2016 09:41

The Ore Meet The Wife segment was awkward. But she does look just like Joanne.

It was weird wasn't it - they're eerily alike. Maybe that's why they did it.

Ore was very gymnastic wasn't he!

ppeatfruit · 24/09/2016 10:35

Well that was FABULOUS for a first ep. This is going to be a great year!! I can even forgive Tess's ripped bandage dress . She was n't too bad. The music was a bit dire though. Anyone gong to start a new thread?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 24/09/2016 10:51

New thread here. I apologise for the bad joke in the title!

I'm on a five hour train journey, so have downloaded last night's to watch (hadn't finished my packing!). I will be back when I've watched Smile

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 24/09/2016 10:55

I never noticed that Darcey has her ear pierced twice before.

228agreenend · 24/09/2016 18:38

Nice start to the programme. Even my husband enjoyed it.

Dozer · 13/11/2016 10:56

can't find strictly threads! Am enjoying this with the DC/parents/grandparents. Judge Rinder's face annoys me!

What went on with Will Young? V odd.

Enjoyed louise's classic American smooth dance and the glamour.

And the salsas: Daisy has v enviable legs! ed balls always entertaining but scared he will drop katya!
