Just realised it's back!!!

Watching it on demand now to catch up - where's everyone from last year's thread!!?

Can't wait to discover who we've going to love to hate, and who we'll simply just hate, which couple will we like and who do we want to win!!!

I don't think Colin likes her either, nor does he like Mr Lauren. The comment about the pineapple to Mr Lauren made me laugh, I wouldn't be surprised if Colin points out they just being petulant spoilt brats!

I was waiting for him to say something. Very disappointed he didn't.

DonkeyHotay · 30/07/2016 13:53

I think the marking was harsh compared to the night before. I really dont like the dark haired women (is she the Spanish one?). I love it when pride comes before a fall.

ellenanora5 · 31/07/2016 13:23

They were good cooks, I don't eat curry and the colour of that one made me sure I'll never eat it now.

Lauren ruined the atmosphere with her comments, not very fair of her, her night was shit and she can't accept it.

As for the hubby, "I don't really do pineapple", he nearly licked the plate clean!!

FoxesOnSocks · 01/08/2016 06:21

I do eat curry, and the colour of that one would have made me think twice, possibly thrice or even fourice (whatever the four time equivalent of twice is).

The whole 'I don't really do pineapple' was stupid, in a baffling way.

The stepmother and daughter or "stepsies" would drive me mad, very irritating altogether and that stupid hip bumping thing would get old very very quickly.

secondhoneymoon · 02/08/2016 23:12

I am SUCH an idiot... away with work and decided to see if I could find a way of catching up online, googled and first story was about who won. As if I shouldn't have known not to google. SOOOO annoyed.

FoxesOnSocks · 03/08/2016 13:54

It's absolutely impossible to avoid finding out who won if you google. I discovered this a few years ago!!

I'm just catching up with Monday/Tuesday's episodes (day off work put to good use)

Stepsies are a bit insanely positive aren't they? They remind me of that I Love Lucy character (though that might be the slight 50s theme going on too).

OP posts:
FoxesOnSocks · 03/08/2016 14:54

Is it just me or are this group like nodding dogs when the dishes come in: bend over and sniff - all one after the other too!!

OP posts:
DonkeyHotay · 03/08/2016 17:44

Stepsies are relentlessly crazy.

sugarmonster64 · 03/08/2016 19:01

A bit late to the party but I love this programme. It's now our evening ritual to watch it.

FoxesOnSocks · 03/08/2016 19:40

Can they not use ingredients in there kitchen?

Seems odd they have no cumin in the house already considering it's 'Spanish flavour'.

OP posts:
sugarmonster64 · 03/08/2016 20:06

I thought that. There must be an embargo, which seems daft but hey ho. I can't work out whether result pleased me or not

FoxesOnSocks · 03/08/2016 20:12

Both couples were not nice people. Both thought themselves amazing at cooking and both weren't.

Both women in the couples will be a brilliant clash with Waspface.

I was (mostly after gazing at a map of Australia) just thinking: if this really is night after night every night they must have to do some MENTAL travelling. They are all over Australia, and it is one hell of a big place!!!.

OP posts:
ellenanora5 · 04/08/2016 22:43

I've just caught up, bloody hell, Dee is a drama queen, I was getting worried for poor Tim there for a bit, thought she was going to thump him, her tantrums were shocking, I'm glad they are gone.

Not impressed with another instant restaurant round, they did that before and it just drags on.

FoxesOnSocks, I agree, they will clash, it'll be good telly though Grin

sugarmonster64, I think they can only use what they buy on the day, she messed up the shopping list, it's no wonder it took them so long at the supermarket.

Chris and Cookie ( awful name by the way) were very good, I wish they would use his first name though, I know it's a nickname but it really doesn't suit him.

ellenanora5 · 04/08/2016 22:47

I reckon it's done over a longer time Foxes, they would be exhausted otherwise, no one could keep that up I don't think, but then maybe it's not and that adds to the pressure.

FoxesOnSocks · 04/08/2016 22:59

It must be mustn't it. Otherwise those at the end of the group would be zonked.

Plus the idea of having to eat a three course meal daily: you'd be fed up when the last one comes along.

OP posts:
DramaAlpaca · 05/08/2016 00:36

It's heavily edited, I'm sure. They couldn't possibly be travelling all over Oz in the space of a week.

I've been watching with DS, who's a trainee chef. He is pointing out all sorts of mistakes and getting very frustrated Grin

DonkeyHotay · 05/08/2016 09:18

Google (don't do this unless you want to know who wins obvs) says that it's shown from Feb to May. There was an interview with winner Steph (and Dan the sausage man). It says they audition for a month and gave to send recipes in. Producers pick the theme and menu which make sense when you see the decorations. A lot of contestants cut and paste so may not have had time to practice. The find out the day before (I think). I loves it.

FoxesOnSocks · 05/08/2016 21:11

Catty McCatEyes is just horrible isn't she. She absolutely delights in anything negative she can find - I will be delighted if she and he screw up again making me just like her

OP posts:
FoxesOnSocks · 08/08/2016 20:34

Anyone still watching?

Cops are turning out to both be bad cops. Not going to bother with commenting on Catty McCatEyes and MrCat: it's too obvious

OP posts:
ellenanora5 · 09/08/2016 11:50

I'm getting fed up with them now, she has nothing nice to say at all, and he's a muppet. How many times has she said "It's not a competition dish" well lady neither were yours!!!

The cops are no better, there are all so bitter when they do badly, it wouldn't kill them to acknowledge that some are quite good.

FoxesOnSocks · 09/08/2016 14:02

I'm cringing at her catch phrase 'it's not a competition dish'. She's evidently daft in the head, so hers was?

Maybe seafood pasta is, though obviously, in their minds, putting it in a bag makes it so (though in my mind putting it in a bag made the dish look awful, so points off there) not only that the fact it was inedible seems to have escaped her.

I actually can't recall thier starter or dessert. We can only hope that they do 'competition dishes' again which they forget to cook again.

Though I'm half hoping they get through because her and WaspFace are going to be horrifically fascinating.

FoxesOnSocks · 11/08/2016 20:13

Flipping heck except for the first group is anyone getting on?!?!?
