Just realised it's back!!!

Watching it on demand now to catch up - where's everyone from last year's thread!!?

Can't wait to discover who we've going to love to hate, and who we'll simply just hate, which couple will we like and who do we want to win!!!

I think the 'rav' should have been served in a pasta bowl or something.

FoxesOnSocks · 07/09/2016 22:44

Lauren is hideously spiteful. And smug.

OP posts:
MrsK · 07/09/2016 23:05

I can't stand Lauren & her ridiculous vernacular, amazeballs & totes. I love the way they accuse everyone of tactical voting, generally I think most teams vote fairly unlike them who've been tactical from day one.

Is it because I don't like them, I think there has been a conspiracy to keep them in?

ellenanora5 · 09/09/2016 22:28

Dont' forget about the "2 fiddy thousand" that she mentions every five minutes MrsK, and "peeps" "if these peeps don't like ma cooking" why on earth does she have to put on that bloody ridiculous accent, I've just watched their instant round and her "rav" looked awful, she is horrible and he's a fecking lapdog, if Mitch and Laura end up bottom of the leader board then yes it has to be a conspiracy, all for viewers ratings.

When it's over I'll have a google and read the comments that are posted when it goes out in Australia, the year Chloe and Kelly were on it the comments were brill Grin

FoxesOnSocks · 09/09/2016 23:38

Will you link them when you find them ellen

Not that I'm lazy or anything. If Mitch and Laura get knocked out I will NOT be impressed. I get recall Lauren's nick name but if she and Lapdog get through because of one decent meal them I'm not happy.

I'm not loving the new set up, there used to be a lot more cooking in the studio with all the couples didn't there, last two series seem to compile of mostly instant resturants and sudden deaths, with some challanges (not invoking all couples).

In reality we've not seen Mitch and Laura cook that much have we? And the reason is because they are very good cooks. Which really does suggest it's all about the characters for ratings.

There are no real tests any more. The test with two ingredients that saw black pudding and rhubarb win was the only one. Lauren and doodah have cooked the most because they've been shite. They have got through suddenly death by cooking the same tart. The worse you are the more you practice, they don't improve contestants. Two very strong teams pitted against each saw great teams go. I'd like to have seen Lauren go up against the two Italian guys.

ThatAussieBogan · 10/09/2016 10:39

I've just snuck past 11 pages of this as we don't have free to air as stupid landlord has never fixed anything (non working stove anyone?) so had it on Netflix but the episodes all vanished!
DD 12 is NOT impressed as we saw all the first round except for the lawyer knobs and were waiting to see how they crashed and burned and then lost the episodes!

Anyone know where you can download them from? Legally of course, we've done ones before where you just pay a fee. We're trying to do the same with Wentworth. Oddly DD adores it (she wouldn't swear if you paid her yet loves that show!) and even more so now since she's now met her favourite actress, Pamela Rabe, aka Governor Joan Ferguson.
She has a place here, comes into DH's work all the time.

Did you guys get our first few series of MKR? If so then you may recognise the couples we know (can't say we like them), both are Tasmanian.

Mel and James who were in the first season I think, DH went to school with James and we see them still a bit. Other two I can't think of what season but definitely a good 4 yrs or so ago I think - Megan and Andy.

Amazing how they go on about editing every season to show the "baddies" but after that we saw that it's definitely pretty spot on. If anything Megan and Andy were show in a much, much better light than they really are. Blergh.

Btw Kellie has landed herself in hot water a few times here. Doing nasty reviews on restaurants for newspaper I think it was and hadn't actually been there. Happened a few times, staff came out and proved it, she's buggered up that chance and pretty much vanished.

I'm betting Pete Evans will be booted before next year though. Though it's always entertaining to see what total utter bollocks comes out of his mouth next. He's more loony that Tom Cruise so that's kinda scary.

FoxesOnSocks · 11/09/2016 11:35

Sorry dint kniw where you can download it: neither leagally or not!!

There's re-runs of the earlier series here, caught some of the 1st series Pete and Manu looked strikingly different.

I've been watching Australian Masterchef. MKR flounders in comparison in terms of testing and improving. A bit too X Factor sad stories in the early part but I'm enjoying it.

No badies or goodies although I'm a bit Hmm at women having a hard time being away from their kids (not mentioned about fathers yet).

Although I'm in the UK, I still get an anti Paleo Pete vibe. Lots more personality comes through on MKR and that isn't always favourable. Some of the judging in the group challenges has been questionable.

FoxesOnSocks · 11/09/2016 11:37

I'm very concerned for Mitch and Laura - don't want Anna and Jordan to mess up

Which leaves just Zana and Lala probably won't - here's hoping!!

I'm watching Thursday and Friday's episodes today.

OP posts:
DonkeyHotay · 11/09/2016 11:38

Pete lost a lot of weight after the first series. They will repeat this series when it's finished.

FoxesOnSocks · 11/09/2016 11:43

I do like the personalities on MKR - it's the reason I prefer it to Masterchef.

But it starting to feel that this series is set up so that certain couple get through because of their dislikable personality rather than their ability to cook. This didn't happen before.

OP posts:
DonkeyHotay · 11/09/2016 12:11

I prefer mkr but can see why it's a different format when I look at what MC does. I totally agree that decisions favour a certain couple progressing beyond what they deliver.

FoxesOnSocks · 12/09/2016 20:19

Has anyone every not manage to plate up in time. I recall messy plate ups but not anyone not getting everything on the plate.

OP posts:
MrsK · 12/09/2016 21:00

You're right about the "peeps" & the "2 fiddy" Ellenora 😂. She's like a cross between a Valley Girl & Ali G. i accidentally found out the results & I have to say I've rather lost heart with MKR. I may have to hit that bottle of Echo Falls

FoxesOnSocks · 13/09/2016 20:38

Oh FFS!!

Not happy with that.

OP posts:
DonkeyHotay · 13/09/2016 21:22

Neither am I.

Final tomorrow Wine

ALemonyPea · 13/09/2016 22:11

I thought Zana took losing in the semis very gracefully, she said some lovely things to the girls.

Not happy that Smuggy McSmugster got through tonthenfinals and is fighting for the 2 fiddy k

ALemonyPea · 13/09/2016 22:11

*to the finals

DonkeyHotay · 14/09/2016 08:47

Zana's hubby gave the girls a hug at the end of the desert round when they went to the back whilst the guest judges tasted. Their main looked rubbish.

ALemonyPea · 14/09/2016 21:59

www.carmineandlauren.com Look what I found. Bigging themselves up much?

FoxesOnSocks · 14/09/2016 23:25

Carmine and Lauren had more exposure than any other team and dominated with their airtime. They were a huge contributor to high ratings and brought in 2.15 million viewers on the night of their Ultimate Instant Restaurant. They were one of Australia’s most talked about couples, entertaining viewers with their competitive spirit and memorable one-liners.

That's actually brilliant how they've (a copywriter?) wrote that!!

They had more exposure and air time because they where produced poor dishes more often, they brought in viewers because they where horrible and talked about for both of the above.

Happy with the winners!!

OP posts:
ALemonyPea · 15/09/2016 07:43

Comical isn't it.

I'm pleased the girls won, their food looked lovely.

MrsK · 15/09/2016 08:56

I gave up watching when I found out the smugs had made it to the final, they should have gone out long before. They were so mean & nasty, I didn't like seeing them triumph over nicer people & far better cooks.

Anyway, I've enjoyed the "Bantz" 😉 Ladies, thanks it's been fun.

FoxesOnSocks · 15/09/2016 09:14

It's hard to believe they managed to get to the final, they managed it becUse they were one of the weaker teams caused them to in effect get training and improved. Anna and Jordan messed up due to time pressure and the intensity of the studio - so something which Smuggy McSmug and her Sidekick had repeatedly so had learnt what to do.
