Change of quiz master this year

Hopefully the parents are a bit more media savy this time round

I expect Christopher's brother will be on the show in 2018 or thereabouts. Under tremendous pressure to go further than Christopher

MackerelOfFact · 25/07/2016 20:31

And talking of which, poor Christopher. His dad is obsessive about his son. Mum seemed nice but I'm not quite sure what she sees in Dad, though that may be the editing which portrayed them as quite seperate rather than a united couple.

I kind of got the feeling he might have 'ordered' her from somewhere (poor woman).

Christopher is a nice kid, certainly more emotionally intelligent than his dad.

grannyinwaiting · 26/07/2016 20:07

Here we go again!!

angelos02 · 26/07/2016 20:14

This is one of the most heartbreaking thing I've seen. The children are not being allowed to be children. Also, as much as I don't believe in the ridiculously over diagnosis of child mental illness, it seems to be hugely prevalent here.

doing · 26/07/2016 20:17

An hours worth of child abuse on prime time tv.

Horrendous.

grannyinwaiting · 26/07/2016 20:18

It certainly seems even worse this year

Emochild · 26/07/2016 20:20

Surprise score by mog

If Rhea is doing so well, how come we've only just heard of her?

OP posts:
EverySongbirdSays · 26/07/2016 20:22

Christopher's Dad basically having an erection because Mog had a bad round.

Vile specimen.

I'm amazed anybody has copulated with him to be honest.

Christopher will be NC in later life and his DP will direct him the way of "Stately Homes Group"

grannyinwaiting · 26/07/2016 20:23

Simon is just horrible

PanGalaticGargleBlaster · 26/07/2016 20:23

Mog finally receiving a lesson in humility.

grannyinwaiting · 26/07/2016 20:24

Yes I think that did mog a bit of good

spanky2 · 26/07/2016 20:24

One of the dads is very competitive. Just seen Simon... He said, 'food, what's the point of that?' Um he's a kid he needs to eat!! Poor kid.

ineedamoreadultieradult · 26/07/2016 20:25

Simon is awful, Christopher seems lovely and remarkably balanced I hope he doesn't turn into a Simon as he gets older.

Parmaviolets13 · 26/07/2016 20:25

Simon is an absolute cock 😠

EverySongbirdSays · 26/07/2016 20:26

If Rhea is doing so well, how come we've only just heard of her?

They focus heavily on :

a) the quirky
b) the parents most easily demonised
c) boys

EVERY. YEAR.

Even the years girls have won or come second they haven't had that much focus before almost the end.

RedHareWithBlondeHair · 26/07/2016 20:26

his DP will direct him the way of "Stately Homes Group"

Grin hilarious.

But his father is awful.

PanGalaticGargleBlaster · 26/07/2016 20:28

It would be interesting to have a follow up programme to see what they are all doing in 10 years and what relationship with their parents they have.

soundsystem · 26/07/2016 20:33

So with the spellings, I assume they get a list to learn? Rather than just being asked any word at all?

EverySongbirdSays · 26/07/2016 20:34

This has been going for a while.

I remember when it wasn't a quiz it was a documentary. One of the Minghellas was on it , so the original crop are perhaps early 20s. There was a very odd family involved, several children who were being brought up in a very Hmm way but I can't remember the specifics would love a Catch Up on them. Does anyone remember what I mean?

grannyinwaiting · 26/07/2016 20:35

They must do ! I have never heard some of these words and am quite bright!! (I thought!)

doing · 26/07/2016 20:37

Mog is a bit of a tit really. Bless im

soundsystem · 26/07/2016 20:38

Yeah, chaetognatha was a new one on me! (So I've learned a new word I'm unlikely to ever need to use!)

doing · 26/07/2016 20:39

The parents are either:

Abusive and pushy
Standing back and failing to deliver the much needed reality check

Letting your unusual, genius child go on this entirely by their own steam is as unadvisable as being the pushy parent. It reinforces the idea that intelligence and brain power are more important than anything else.

I passed a Mensa test aged 10. My parents laughed their asses off and no more was said. Quite right too.

doing · 26/07/2016 20:40

The autistic kids siblings will reach 18 and never speak to him again. Total parenting fail.

Destinysdaughter · 26/07/2016 20:43

Those words were really hard!

Not being funny but aren't most of these kids just a bit too left brain focussed..?
