Change of quiz master this year

Hopefully the parents are a bit more media savy this time round

The quizmaster is really kind

QuimReaper · 12/07/2016 21:05

Sophia is a sweet kid.

Cagliostro · 12/07/2016 21:11

I'm going to watch this on catch up later.

Aeroflotgirl · 12/07/2016 21:18

I have a feeling Mog might have Aspergers, he does present in similar ways.

Aeroflotgirl · 12/07/2016 21:23

Christopher's dad, my goodness, leave him alone to do his relaxation.

Aeroflotgirl · 12/07/2016 21:35

Poor Max, his mum shoukd really withdraw him from the competition, he should not be there in the first place, due to him getting really nervous, and his difficulties, make it harder for him to deal with that type of stress.

seasidesally · 12/07/2016 21:44

mog is like a mini Alan Partridge especially when he said he wanted to go to the hotels pool

228agreenend · 12/07/2016 21:54

I love this programme because it shows my kids that I'm not pushy!

228agreenend · 12/07/2016 21:57

Love that Max is wearing everyday clothes, and his mum gave him the option of continuing or not.

lulucappuccino · 12/07/2016 22:03

Which child was the benefits basher? I missed that bit.

lulucappuccino · 12/07/2016 22:03

Argh at the Manager mother, who talked about building the children's brand.

MoonfaceAndSilky · 12/07/2016 23:29

I'm a bit pissed off that Richard Osman is quizmaster though, he gets on my nerves a bit

Ooh I love a bit of Richard Grin

I thought, as usual, all the parents are too pushy, except Mog's.

On next week's one it looked as if Christopher had a podium and buzzer set up in his house - I think his Dad is taking it a bit too seriously Grin

Cagliostro · 13/07/2016 12:10

Oh I was quite glad that Richard is hosting now - I think he's much more friendly and approachable than the previous host, who could be a bit grumpy at times.

MadameDePompom · 13/07/2016 13:27

Ugh, this programme makes me sad. Your child is clearly super bright, why do you feel the need to encourage them stand on a podium like a (very intelligent) performing deal to the prove to the world that your genes have produced a genius. And all for what, a trophy? I just don't see the point.

(Mog and his parents are an exception. Some of their bewildered expressions were priceless.)

dottypotter · 13/07/2016 15:13

when the children cry and feel under pressure you know its wrong.

228agreenend · 13/07/2016 22:26

Why do they still make the children wear the name signs around their necks? So humiliating! A simple name badge would suffice.

ellenanora5 · 13/07/2016 23:44

Just watched it, Mogs parents haven't a clue about his abilities or potential abilities, that's fine, he will tell them, they are not pushy at all, I like them Smile

Christopher dad needs to get a grip, it's not about him, he has spent two/three years preparing Christopher for this, the child is a nervous wreck, leave him alone, and I'm really hoping something was being done about that sty on his eye, it looked really sore, I don't like Christopher dad Sad

Max will be fine, his mum knew his limitations and accepted his adhd will affect his performance, I like them Smile

228agreenend, I have always wondered what the hell that name sign was all about, there is no need for it at all.

Brand Curtis is back, but now it's brand Curtis and his sister Shock the minute the mum popped up on screen I said, ah it's brand Curtis mum, and wondered why she was back, she's determined, I'll give her that

I haven't changed my mind about Richard Grin

Aethelfleda · 14/07/2016 09:16

I thought Curtis was a "professional concert pianist".... Mum's gone vairy quiet about that.....

I think this one is in Telly Addicts, there was another thread in Chat but that goes after 90 days so I presume someone started this thread because it won't go pouf.

OfstedAintEverything · 17/07/2016 08:33

And talking of which, poor Christopher. His dad is obsessive about his son. Mum seemed nice but I'm not quite sure what she sees in Dad, though that may be the editing which portrayed them as quite seperate rather than a united couple.
Hmm to editing. I know last series some of the families felt they were polarised in the editing....

Cagliostro · 17/07/2016 12:34

Indeed, I don't know why people still sign up to do this stuff when if they had watched previous series surely they'd know it would likely make them look Very Very Bad.

jay55 · 17/07/2016 16:45

Sister of Curtis was quite lovely despite the mother.

Mog wasn't as bad as he first seemed either, one of those kids who is super, super bright and a bit obnoxious because he has no life experience yet.

Aethelfleda · 18/07/2016 11:57

I've set the PVR to record the lot.....
AIBU to let my ten year old watch along?...
