Hopefully the parents are a bit more media savy this time round

None of it is really about intelligence or 'genius' really is it - just remembering things. Not to say that remembering things isn't impressive, and that most of us couldn't possibly do what those children do - but there's never anything analytical or thoughtful about what they do, is there?

Yes, it was more about memorising. Mind you, I'd never even heard of some of those words....

Impressive, maybe but yeah....should be called Britain's Pushiest Parents or something.

Hmm just watched the final. Saffy was so sweet and kind to Georgia. Didn't like Rhea. Sneaking little looks across to Saffy all the way through. If looks could kill.
As someone above mannerism Rhea is steely and I'm not sure this an admirable quality in a ten year old.

I'll not get started on the SAHM debates. Safe to say I think they're both a pair of tits though..

The siblings were astonishing. The parents need to take a long hard look at their parenting. Very very odd. Lots of years in therapy forthcoming I think!

YY to it being a memory/maths test. Give me a kid who can write a lovely story, tie their own shoe laces and make a nice cup of tea any day!

Genius is so over rated Grin ( and not tested at all in this program IMO!)

Yes. if it was a true child genius, surely whoever got the highest Mensa score should do it? It looked like they were looking over spellings and things when they were in that other room. There is no way you can tell me that those children knew what those words ever were before entering that room, I had never heard of a lot of them.

Definitely would rather have a child with some imagination and spirit than a precocious 'I am the brainiest child look at me aren't I wonderful' child.

There is a very clever child in DDs class. No other child can get near her academic wise. Whilst she could read before she started school and plays 2 instruments at the age of 5, knows some times tables, can write in sentences using punctuation etc etc and has to go to a class 2 years above for lessons, she has no social skills and no imagination. I love watching DD play with her toys, the things she says and does with them, it's lovely to watch. She has such a good imagination. I'd take that any day over a super high intelligence.

Have to admit I'm disappointed Rhea won. It's the first time it's been a blatantly pushed child winning I'd say? As opposed to an unstoppable dynamo kid with an insatiable need for knowledge. Not to say Rhea isn't like that but I mean she had the blatantly pushy parents.

Oh dear, the younger child will be popping up on CG in a couple of year's time and will be under even more pressure to emulate his sister.
