Boring title; hope the tennis is better!

Bloody hell- imagine paying to see that in the final??

I think the best women's matches have already happened.

CremeEggThief · 07/07/2016 14:01

Was that even 45 minutes?

Raahh · 07/07/2016 14:04

I do hope Marion is ok- I'm not sure I buy 'unknown virus' either.

Raahh · 07/07/2016 14:08

creme- 48, I thinkGrin

I'm more fed up with Serena than Djok, or Roger. Tracey is so desperate to big up Serena. I think there is a whole entourage of women commentators just desperate to be Serena's bessie mate.

DramaAlpaca · 07/07/2016 14:11

I am sceptical about 'unknown virus' too. I do hope Marion gets better soon.

As for that semi final, I feel sorry for Vesnina really. She just couldn't get her act together at all, probably because Serena wouldn't let her.

Raahh · 07/07/2016 14:14

Vesnina is probably exhausted- I doubt she expected to get so far, and she's in the doubles too.

Don't show me Cilic againSad. I wish he'd wonSad.

Raahh · 07/07/2016 14:35

Come on Kerber (although I don't mind if Venus wins, providing she beats SerenaGrin).

CremeEggThief · 07/07/2016 15:15

Venus seems really tired. Neither of them are playing well, but Angie is doing better.

GrouchyKiwi · 07/07/2016 15:15

Yes, the unknown virus does seem to strain credulity. I do hope that she recovers quickly, whatever she is ill with.

I'm glad I didn't bother to turn on the TV for that match. I'm sitting in quiet in the lounge right now, trying to decide whether to watch Venus v Kerber. Rather enjoying the silence; my small people have been incredibly clingy today and I've only just managed to get some peace by setting them up with some whiteboard thingies that arrived 15 minutes ago.

I want Kerber to win. She seems to want it. Everything seems such...an...effort...for Venus, and I am having to actively stop myself shouting at the screen: Oh for goodness sake, stop slouching.

CremeEggThief · 07/07/2016 15:40

Theonlylivingboy, that's rather unfair to Venus. Fatigue is one of the symptoms of her auto-immune condition.

CremeEggThief · 07/07/2016 16:00

So, Angie versus Serena for the final. I hope it's a good match. Sorry for Venus, but time to look forward.

BeckerLleytonNever · 07/07/2016 16:52

Was watching Bahrami/Pat Mac and Leach/Pioline today-and their umpire was brilliant too!

But I noticed.....many schoolage kids in audience. have parents been naughty and taken term time out? or inset day? or Wimby has its own term times (unlikely).

Oh and Casal/Sanchez!!!!!!!!!!! CASAL/SANCHEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My all time fave doubles team back together. Had a massive crush on Sanchez in the days, and well, he's ageing well! Wink. Tennis. Beyond excited.

and more entertaining and less boring than some ''main tour'' matches.

SpaceUnicorn · 07/07/2016 16:54

or Wimby has its own term times (unlikely)

I reckon there's a very high percentage of children in and around Wimbers who are at private school, so probably a lot of them have finished already

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 07/07/2016 17:01

Didn't know she had an auto-immune condition.

Cel982 · 07/07/2016 17:04

Did anyone else feel the commentary team were particularly obnoxious during the Williams/Vesnina match? Obviously it wasn't a great match, but the anger and the sneering directed towards Vesnina was appalling.

CremeEggThief · 07/07/2016 17:07

I can't say I noticed any anger towards Vesnina, but I agree they were rather dismissive towards her. Yes, she didn't play well today and it made for a disappointing semi final, but overall, it's an amazing achievement to reach the last 4 of Wimbledon.

Cel982 · 07/07/2016 18:26

I felt there was a real "Why have we wasted our time watching this?" attitude. And a definite sense that she wasn't worthy of being there, despite the fact that she earned her place in the semi the same way as everyone else.

hugoagogo · 07/07/2016 20:07

Nice to see Heather go through in the mixed doubles, shame I missed it. Stupid real life.

NoBarbaraGood · 08/07/2016 08:32

So thrilled by the men's' QFs -- we had a ball watching RF's comeback.

I am worried about the semifinals.

I am also worried about MrsVamos --- where is she?

GrouchyKiwi · 08/07/2016 08:36

The Men's semifinals (wanted to just write semis, realised I couldn't...) should be good.

I, too, have been wondering about MrsV. Hope all is well.

I havehigh hopes for this match.

Come on Raonic!

Raahh · 08/07/2016 13:15

Stefan!

Raahh · 08/07/2016 13:21

Raonic has a break!

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 08/07/2016 13:23

Weird to have Mac commenting on this match, but I think he will remain objective. Wonder what his arrangement is with Raonic - I assumed he'd be in Raonic's box today rather than commentating.
