Plenty of time for more sex! Culloden was April 16 1746, by which time, Jamie says that Claire hadn't menstruated for 42 days or some other remarkably accurate figure! So she would have been in the very early stages of pregnancy. The battle of Prestonpans was in late September 1745, it was the first real conflict of the Rising. The could have been at it like bunnies in between, especially given that they stayed in Edinburgh and didn't go with the main force into England.
On another note, dear God, look at those thigh muscles!! Why do I not know anyone who looks that good in a kilt. Ds3 has just been accepted on to a technical theatre course. Sam does a lot of theatre and is patron of the Scottish Youth Theatre. I have already made my wishes very clear.

snozzlemaid · 18/06/2016 16:54

I even love the way Jamie gets off his horse. I'm no horse rider but I'm sure most people swing their leg behind. I noticed yesterday when rewatching some of season 1 that he swings his leg forward. Looks great when he's wearing his kilt.
Something that is bugging me is the casting of his father. I don't think it was a good choice at all. I would imagine him to be a larger man with more confidence. He was portrayed as quite an insignificant, quiet little man.
I think that's the only casting that I haven't thought is spot on.

TheHiphopopotamus · 18/06/2016 17:09

I can't see there being much sex in the next few episodes, they have too much to fit in. I hope the producers are listening to the complaints and it's made up for next series.

snozzlemaid · 18/06/2016 17:43

I agree Hip. Someone on twitter said that they think Brianna will be an immaculate conception. DG replied by saying 'they're not the royal family, they don't need witnesses'. Maril Davis agreed with her.
All of the writers and production team seem to be firmly standing by their decision to have no sex scenes this season. I'm surprised DG is ageeing as it's still there in the books.

Drywhitethanks · 18/06/2016 22:06

Agree about the casting of Brian, not great

Lessstressedhemum · 18/06/2016 22:32

No, in the later books he is portrayed as a very big man with lots of black hair and a full beard, very different from in the series. I don't know about Brianna either. She's supposed to be pushing 6ft and solid, Sophie Skelton just seems to wee to be so memorable and intimidating. There's no chance of Laoghaire mistaking her for Jamie, even in men's clothes.

Sunnymeg · 19/06/2016 18:06

I have to admit that I struggled with this week's episode. A lot of clunky dialogue imo.

TheHiphopopotamus · 19/06/2016 18:20

A lot of clunky dialogue imo

You can thank Diana Gabaldon for that. She wrote this week's ep. Also lots of Gaelic in this ep, she didn't do that correspondence course for nowt, y'know Wink

Saying that, I quite enjoyed it. Loved Dougal and Murtagh this episode.

AKAmyself · 20/06/2016 19:54

I'm sick :(

Only just managed to watched the episode. Overall, I loved it, and I'm too full of cold to articulate anything more intelligent....

pixieg1rl · 20/06/2016 20:04

Sorry to hear that aka hope you feel better soon.

I'll probably rewatch last night's episode as I was dicking about on Twitter distracted. I'm glad she toned down the ridiculous drama from the book and that Hugh Munro survived in this version. Still felt rather flat and not pacy enough considering how much shagging story they've got to fit in.

TheHiphopopotamus · 20/06/2016 21:40

Hope you feel better soon aka

Glad you enjoyed the episode though, I know you hadn't been keen on the last few.

I'm with you pixie there's so much they've still got to fit in, I don't think there'll be much time for shagging left.

pixieg1rl · 22/06/2016 17:59

I take it you've all seen Roger.

Lassies of Lallybroch - SPOILERS
TheHiphopopotamus · 22/06/2016 18:55

Aw, lovely Roger. He rocks a beard a lot better than Jamie as well Wink

snozzlemaid · 22/06/2016 19:05

I'm surprised her hair isn't more red. But Roger looks great. Love Rik Rankin.

pixieg1rl · 22/06/2016 22:28

I'm just going to say ooh, professor

That is all Wink

Lessstressedhemum · 23/06/2016 10:22

Och, Roger, just a less good, wannabe Jamie! The on!y this g that he could do better than Jamie was sing and then he lost that too. It must suck to be him. Anyway, I could NEVER fancy someone called Roger, it's just no very manly. I still think Brianna is too short. Now I sound like a crazed loon of a fan girl.

pixieg1rl · 23/06/2016 11:09

To get your crazy loon fan girl badge you have to take to Twitter and complain that Sophie Skelton's eyes aren't the right colour. ALL IN CAPS. With lots of passive aggressive hashtags and tagging every member of the cast and crew in your tweet campaign. Lessstressed.

Or maybe start a RR and SS shipper movement, if there isn't one already.

Lessstressedhemum · 23/06/2016 11:47

Do you know, I was just saying to dd last night that neither SS or RR have the right colour of eyes. Don't think I would rant about it on the internet, though. Perhaps they can use coloured contacts Blush do people actually do all that mad stuff like moon touched teenage girls? Clearly, I am just too old to understand.

pixieg1rl · 23/06/2016 12:14

SS mentioned the eye colour in the Entertainment Weekly interview. Looks like there's a vocal community over that matter already.

I rarely notice people's eye colour and it makes no difference to me. The books make quite a bit of Claire's amber eyes and they haven't changed CB's with contacts so I don't imagine it's going to happen with Bree or Roger.

TheHiphopopotamus · 23/06/2016 12:23

Looks like there's a vocal community over that matter already

Grin What a way to live your life. I assume they're all adults too.

Lessstressedhemum · 23/06/2016 12:37

Surely people have actual lives to lead? A lot is made of eye colour in the books. Don't care about Claire's whisky coloured eyes at all. I think Roger's green ones are more important because of various plot developments later on. But heyho, I can't bring !myself to get too worked up about it. Brianna's are only blue to strengthen her resemblance to Jamie, anyway.

AKAmyself · 23/06/2016 22:25

Right, all this talk of the horrors that will befall poor Roger are motivating me to keep reading - have hit a dead patch at the beginning of DOA and the whole bit with Aunt Jocasta is really boring me. I guess I have to pick it up again, eh?

btw, the actress who played Geillis tweeted to encourage followers to tune in the finale. So perhaps she's in it?

TheHiphopopotamus · 23/06/2016 22:43

Yes, I'm intrigued about the hints about Roger losing his ability to sing (not intrigued enough to plough my way through any more of the books though, I might add).

aka aunt Jocasta bored me too.

pixie did you manage to get any further with The Fiery Cross?

Drywhitethanks · 23/06/2016 22:51

I've said it before and will say it again, O fans are nuts, unlike us level headed, not knee/hair/kilt obsessed lot Grin

snozzlemaid · 24/06/2016 03:45

I've slowed down with DOA too. There's lots that I'm not interested in. But I keep reading for the odd snippet of Jamie & Claire dialogue. And I'm intrigued by what will happen with Roger & Brianna so I am keeping on with it.
I saw that tweet from 'Geillis', but I think she took it down. It said look out for someone in the last episode. Did we see her burn? So she'll definitely be in it.
