Yes WTF is up with that maternity department?!
Talking about the dead woman in the middle of the waiting room
Surely they'd march Vicki off to a staff only area as she was clearly in shock?
Then they sent her home but nobody checked on her. (Perhaps that's normal if she doesn't have a partner but you'd think "sweetheart" would phone).
Would she usually be allowed to work again afterwards? Surely she'd be suspended if there was any question it might have been her fault.
Then the woman requested a different midwife - fine - and was told off
Totally unprofessional! And she had a completely legitimate concern since they were yelling about it in the waiting room the other day
and then "sweetheart" left her all alone to go and console the other midwife in the corridor, the poor dear being upset that somebody didn't want her treating them.
You would think, wouldn't you, that given the BBC have their own documentary about midwives now the writers would maybe watch a few episodes?
The reduced movements comments are all
as well. We have a terrible stillbirth rate in the UK, why are they allowed to make those comments uncorrected? I could understand if they had Dev saying it and then a midwife saying, actually, no, it's really important to come in and be checked. Or if a midwife said it to reassure a patient and then later confided in her colleague that she'd said that to reassure her but reduced movements is never a good sign, or something.
