I can't see a thread yet, anyone else as a ridiculously excited as me after seeing the teaser trailer.

I reckon Tommy's married May. Or at least I hope so, 'cos I couldn't stand Grace.

OP posts:
JonSnowsBeardClippings · 12/05/2016 21:51

I really don't like grace. What is the point of her?

MarthaCliffYouCunt · 12/05/2016 22:00

I think the point of Grace is to continually say "do you promise tommy?" to add some extra sense of his torn loyalties. And also so there is something for his enemies to hold over him. Threaten his family. I dont like her either.

MarthaCliffYouCunt · 12/05/2016 22:03

Thats Neil's dad out if the inbetweeners!

ThursdayLastWeek · 12/05/2016 22:05

Ha! Well, quite Jon Grin

SilverBirchWithout · 12/05/2016 22:08

Week that's the problem with Grace sorted then!

SilverBirchWithout · 12/05/2016 22:09

*well not week!

JonSnowsBeardClippings · 12/05/2016 22:09

Ha! Hopefully that's goodnight grace

BastardGoDarkly · 12/05/2016 22:18

Oh no :( I don't want Tommy to be heart broken, or to shag the duchess.

ThursdayLastWeek · 12/05/2016 22:22

Oh Tommy

Peaky &*$%ing Blinders is back!
BastardGoDarkly · 12/05/2016 22:30

God he's gorgeous isn't he?

var123 · 12/05/2016 22:31

Season 3 isn't as good as seasons 1 & 2, I think. S1 & 2 were brilliant, but S3 just doesn't seem to have the same style. It is good though.

I hope Grace doesn't die, but I hope she gets her sparkle back.

MarthaCliffYouCunt · 12/05/2016 22:41

I agree season 3 seems to have lost something that the previous two had. Too much posh backdrop for starters.

JonSnowsBeardClippings · 13/05/2016 06:11

The Russian storyline is confusing me and I don't like all the posh houses so much. I hope grace dies! That will start a war though.

ThursdayLastWeek · 13/05/2016 07:27

I think Grace will have to die, plot-wise.
It's only really for her sake that Tommy has tied himself to a 'respectable' home and all the trappings. I think it's what he thought he wanted, but in reality in makes him too much like those military officers he hates so much.

I really don't believe that shady Grace of series one would either a) need or believe Tommys promises to basically stop being a peaky blinder, or b) trip about all excited about an accepted invitation simpering about society occasions.

But anyways. They let us believe she was dead before, she seems pretty indestructaable.

var123 · 13/05/2016 08:41

I'm a bit confused about the Russians too. I get that its a plan supported by Churchill to help the white Russians but who is that priest and the MP and what have they got to do with it?
Also, is that priest a paedophile? I think that's what they were hinting but Tommy didn't react so I wasn't sure.

MarthaCliffYouCunt · 13/05/2016 09:26

Yes i thought thats what the priest was hinting at too and was waiting for tommy to explode and tell him he would choo his dick off or something but it didnt happen. So clearly tommy needs the priest for the time being.

Another one not buying Grace the spy's transformation. Would she so gullibly lap up gifts of sapphires and promises to be a good boy? She knows him far too well for that.

Agree tommy isnt comfortable in the big house. For starters it makes him far too vulnerable. His wife and child away down in that london while he is off doing business. He cant keep them safe. He needs them in small heath where he has men and police on his payroll.

MarthaCliffYouCunt · 13/05/2016 09:27

chop not choo Grin

Sotaku · 13/05/2016 09:37

I think I need to watch the ending again as I got a bit lost and missed some things people have pointed out. I also don't like Grace or the family being in the fancy house but it does make sense they'd have one as they've become wealthy. It also makes sense that they'd keep their roots in Small Heath. As a Brummie, I especially love this series for its setting and, though some are a bit off, the accents are actually ok. Usually they have people put on a strange mix of Black Country (think Noddy Holder or Lenny Henry) with Brummie, but I haven't noticed that here.

MarthaCliffYouCunt · 13/05/2016 09:55

sokatu what is Cillian Murphy's accent like? Any good?

I was cringing big style at Sam Neill's. It was dire.

var123 · 13/05/2016 10:13

I thought Sam Neill was from Northern Ireland? So, surely his accent is authentic?

MarthaCliffYouCunt · 13/05/2016 10:21

He was born here as his father was stationed here but moved away to new zealand as a child (7ish). He was born in tyrone and his accent in peaky blinders was supposed to be a belfast accent so it wouldnt have been authentic even if he had a tyrone accent.

SilverBirchWithout · 13/05/2016 10:46

The priest and the MP are part of a shadowy extreme right wing network (including Churchill) keen to support the White Russians take back Communist Russian.

A similar organisation real did exist the 1920s. They managed to bring down the first Labour Govt in 1924 with a forged letter supposedly indicating that the Labour Party had been infiltrated by communists organised by Russia. There were similar activities in the 1960s in an attempt to bring down Harold Wilson's Govt.

ThursdayLastWeek · 13/05/2016 11:07

I always thought Sam Neil was from America! Every day's a school day. I can't remember what happened to him, did Poll kill him in the end?

Also, what's up with Painter the Flatterer? What's he up to?

MarthaCliffYouCunt · 13/05/2016 11:17

Yes Poll shot him at the races and walked off with a big blood stain on her dress that no-one noticed! Grin

Painter is up to something for sure but i cant place him. He is english isnt he?

officerhinrika · 13/05/2016 14:04

That sapphire - leaving aside that I hope he'd given it a wash and its implausible size, it didn't look right. They are in Birmingham, home of jewellery, Tommy would have had it set in something much more elaborate not just stuck on a plain chain. At least he said it was in bad taste:)
