Firstly Jill has really not dealt with the whole Josh situation and I don't blame her given the 'counselling' she received

Is anyone watching season 5 on youtube? Jo was just explaining how he has taken his courtship to the next level by allowing him and Kendra to sit next to each other. Obviously when they were friends sitting next to each other wasn't allowed. Also they've decided side hugs for 3 seconds are appropriate for courtship....... I couldnt make this stuff up!

If you've ever heard of Duggar friends the Bates family, they're much more relaxed around relationships. Their eldest son was originally engaged to a girl, but she broke it off. After this, supposedly the parents re-evaluated the courtship process, and now allow holding hands and even FULL FRONTAL HUGGING whilst courting. Said son is now married to someone else with two kids.
There aren't as many married Bates offspring, just four. Again, though, it's the eldest daughters who are. One daughter is almost engaged, one is in a courtship, and another is "special friends" with someone. They have so many steps in a relationship it's confusing.

The sidehug and no handsex until you're engaged makes a lot more sense when you look at the movement in the context of it's culty ways. TLC do a great job in giving them good PR and making the whole thing look a lot more fluffy.

A woman's role is: serve at home and raise you're siblings under the control of your father until you marry and are under the control of your husband. Education is out of the question, I'm amazed they allow women to read (permitted 'Godly' books, obvs) but I guess they don't want to look too much like Gilead.

It's a gross fetishisation of a woman's virginity and lowly status, you can see JimBob practically fapping over the daughter's first kiss at each wedding, and his gross innuendos leading up to it.

I hope jinger makes a normal life away from them. Her husband seems fairly normal and has at least done something outside of worshiping god

I'm so happy I've found this thread! No-one I know watches this crap show. It's a real guilty pleasure of mine. Have to say I love that Jinger is breaking the mould. Wearing shorts and trousers and still not pregnant. Her sisters could learn a lot from her. Jessa and especially Jill come across as a bit jealous of Jinger and her happy not bare foot and pregnant life!

Just googled pictures of jinger in trousers. She looks normal. I feel sorry for joy anna. Her husband asked his father when it was the right time for him to get married. Even the menfolk don't know their own minds.

I think Jinger looks really worn out and tired since getting married. She was very sparkly and bubbly before ,she looks worn out now,poor thing.

Poor girls...I like Jeremy best out of the husband's, Ben seems ok is it just me who thinks he looks stoned a lot of the time Derrick irritates me but seems a good match to Jill. I do not like Austin though. He was totes eyeing up Joys bum when she was tiling that floor.

I think the only time Jinger loses her sparkle is when she is talking to her sister's!

Ben is practically mute and Jessa does all the talking. Jill is very meh and Jessa and Jill always seem to be competing. Derek needs a good wash and a hair cut.

I've been reading the rumours today that Joy may have already been pregnant when she got married. Wedding brought forward from October to may.... ?shot gun wedding, hmmmm? 🎗

The Joy falling pregnant before her wedding is a myth! There is no way they ever spent time alone before marriage. Even at the proposal there was a chaperone and camera crew.
The wedding wasn't brought forward either. The date on the wedding registry was likely to be fake to throw the press off, they've had issues with press intrusion before. They like to be totally in control. With both her babies, Jessa waited to release the name until she could get a front cover on People magazine.
Some women do look big very quickly depending on how they carry. It could also be twins although this hasn't been confirmed. The Duggar girls are also known to really push out and emphasise their baby bumps. Being a subservient wife and mother of many is all they've been raised to be.

I don't think Joy would have shagged before the wedding - she has always been a bit larger than the older girls.

Jeremy seems really lovely - Christian conservative but not as fundie as the other husbands. Jill and Derick always seem the most devout. I never used to like Ben but I do now.

Jill always seems a bit out of place with Jessa and Jinger, they are clearly very close and the way Jessa seemed horrified at Jill's nosiness made me think Jessa and Jinger might have discussed Jinger's lack of pregnancy to date. I can't imagine they are using contraception but I bet they use the rhythm method, I remember an episode with Michelle's menstrual cycle on the fridge! Confused
