CQ · 22/03/2016 21:34

Awww grumpy grandpa finally cracked a smile!

stairway · 22/03/2016 21:34

Stretch marks seem to happen worse to the younger mums for some reason. I had quite a few first time round and the midwife made some cruel comments.

northernlostsoul · 22/03/2016 21:35

I've had a baby since last series of OBEM.

I'm now peed off.

That women has two pessaries, said I want an section and they wisked her off Angry

I had 6 pessaries and was refused a c section and had to barter with them.

2 pessaries is nothing! They generally do nothing..... Where was the drip.

Rant over. I'm more upset because I loved this programme.

northernlostsoul · 22/03/2016 21:36

Sorry just be clear she being induced and the pessaries have done anything.

CaveMum · 22/03/2016 21:36

Baby #5. Eek!

sonlypuppyfat · 22/03/2016 21:37

I've just learned that families are important in Liverpool, they're not anywhere else then?

FenellaFieldmouse · 22/03/2016 21:39

The mother of five looks older than 37.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 22/03/2016 21:40

I love this family . So close .

CQ · 22/03/2016 21:41

Ooh I'd have killed for a Macca while I was in labour! Only ice cubes allowed back in my day.

NeedACleverNN · 22/03/2016 21:42

The dad of 5 looks really out of proportion Confused or is just me

Penguinepenguins · 22/03/2016 21:44

I wanted to watch... I'm too afraid to watch... Pregnant with number one. I saw a clip once and it scared me stupid...

Honestly tell me is it safe to watch :)

CQ · 22/03/2016 21:44

Don't watch

Penguinepenguins · 22/03/2016 21:45

Thank you :)

KenDoddsDadsDog · 22/03/2016 21:45

I was only allowed sips of water , would have loved salty fries.

NeedACleverNN · 22/03/2016 21:45

I watched it during both pregnancies and I can honestly say, don't expect birth to be anything like what you see on OBEM.

It's nothing like it at all.

OP posts:
northernlostsoul · 22/03/2016 21:47

I watched it all while pregnant! Sat sobbing it's a nice thing to watch it's fluffy and nice most of the time.

Now I've had a baby I'm shouting at the screen.

CQ · 22/03/2016 21:47

Penguine record the series and you can watch them all back to back when you're pinned down by your own little bundle and can't move Smile

crumblybiscuits · 22/03/2016 21:47

Watching whilst 35+4 with DD2 and 16 days before induction. Can't remember what a contraction feels like, trying to remind myself!
NN He has the skinniest arms ever!

DrWhy · 22/03/2016 21:48

I'm pregnant with number 1, have never watched it before but I figure since I've been reading Mumsnet threads about the horror of birth and its aftermath for years OBEM can't possibly make me more concerned than I already am!

NeedACleverNN · 22/03/2016 21:48

NN He has the skinniest arms ever!

Thank you....thought it was just me

Penguinepenguins · 22/03/2016 21:49

All good sound advise :) I might brave it next week....

LBOCS2 · 22/03/2016 21:51

I only ever have any interest in OBEM when I'm pregnant.

This series has started at a good time; I'm 37+3 Grin

I cry whenever the babies are born though!

CaveMum · 22/03/2016 21:51

I always watched OBEM before and during pregnancy, I felt it was a good way of preparing myself for what labour might be like. I'd much rather go into it eyes open than with a blinkered view.

However after I had DD (now 2) it took a good year before I could watch it without sobbing Blush

crumblybiscuits · 22/03/2016 21:52

I remember my midwife chastising me during labour with DD1 as she asked if I had been watching OBEM and I said yes. She sharply told me to expect a three day long labour and none of the quick births that are shown on there, that I was being melodramatic, still had ages to go and had unrealistic expectations from watching it. (She was horrid and kept telling me I wasn't coping.) Then I had DD1 15 minutes later Grin

NeedACleverNN · 22/03/2016 21:53

Are we guessing girl or boy for baby number 5?
