I see it's on Fox tonight: S6 E7
Is that us back from the mid season break, or is it a repeat of what we were watching before xmas?
(oh the waiting......)

Just watched it.

It felt like an episode designed purely to force viewers to tune in to next season.

And of course that will always be at the front of the producers' minds, but there are ways and means.

This felt like cheap gimmick over narrative and characterisation. Why? TWD don't need to do this.

Mammabear31 · 05/04/2016 08:36

I keep wondering what the saviours will do once they find out about Maggie being pregnant; and Judith too....

AgainstTheGlock · 05/04/2016 08:42

There's been a lot of chatter online about rick's gang are the baddies now - but I disagree. Yes they've killed, they've killed people sleeping, but they have never used psychological torment. That IMO is the difference - that whistling was awful.

EricNorthmanSucks · 05/04/2016 08:46

I don't think they're baddies or goodies.

They're survivors. And much of TWD is about how far anyone is prepared to go which resonates with us all I think?

How far would I go? To protect myself, my family, the group?

It's these fundamental questions that have made TWD so successful. Not cliffhangers!

A friend of mine was saying that this will be huge for Maggie, even without losing Glen so it needn't be him.

She is the one who is pregnant, and the reason they're on the road, as well as being the one who made the deal at Hilltop that started them all on this path and led them to Negan.

Monroe · 05/04/2016 09:26

I still can't get over why they all left!

I know, let's load up the trailer with all the best fighters and leaders and all go off together. The survivors have shown themselves to be a huge force to be reckoned with. Which is exactly what they were aiming to do. They already know what Rick's group are capable of so they have to do something epic to bring them into line.

I kept thinking how are they getting out of this one and I think that's the point, they can't. So I agree they will start at least by working for him.

Jesus at Hilltop mentioned other communities. I'm guessing Carol and Morgans new friends are from another one. Maybe 7 will be about bringing them all together to lead a rebellion. (Personally I'd be doing a midnight flit a few 100 miles up the road and finding a nice new little group of homes to colonise)

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/04/2016 09:27

I did watch last night as saw on someone FB / omg walking dead

And thought can't risk finding out so immediately watched it

Hmmmmmm

Not a happy blondes :(

Someone has to die with that beating by Lucille and won't be Rick and unlikely to be darryl

Like to think not a woman .....

Glen has had his scare and Carl a child /lost an eye so had his thrill

So leave abe/red - arron or Eugene

Hopefully not my sexy abe ........

Arron can die. That wouldn't bother me

Negan is kinda cute. What else has he been in?

SisterMoonshine · 05/04/2016 09:32

I'm still reeling a bit from it this morning. great finish.

Monroe · 05/04/2016 09:37

Yes, I keep swinging back to maybe Abe / Eugene. I don't think Aaron would have the same impact and would be a bit of a copy it.

And I wonder if Coral bothered to tell anyone Edith is locked in a cupboard or is she supposed to hulk smash her way out Hmm

DangerMouth · 05/04/2016 09:41

No l thought it was a terrible end of season episode. 6 months until it starts again?! I thought the scene where they were being shot at from above was piss poor. I actually said to dh it's like they've let the work experience kid direct this episode. It was an hour of utter tosh.

ZacharyQuack · 05/04/2016 09:49

I'm thinking Abraham or Glenn will die. Negan might take Carl hostage to keep Rick in line, and season 7 will be about how they eventually defeat Negan.

It could be Aaron, which would be a complete cop-out.

ElderlyKoreanLady · 05/04/2016 10:11

It did feel poorly thought out. Especially the bit where they saw the dreadlock on the walker's head and automatically decided it was Michonne's. The arrow being Daryl's is a far smaller leap with there being so few crossbows around but as the majority of living people have only managed to wash their hair properly very infrequently in the past 2 years, dreads shouldn't be all that uncommon. Doesn't Heath have dreadlocks too? And he's not at Alexandria. Why automatically say it's Michonne?

Also, can someone refresh my memory? Where's Jesus at the moment? I thought he was at Alexandria with them but surely he'd have come with them for this trip, him knowing loads more about the saviours and being quite handy.

I thought that. What was he thinking? That's one of my worst nightmares; being walled up alive Shock.

ElderlyKoreanLady · 05/04/2016 10:27

Ah, I think you're right Dixie

Another question...I'd thought they attacked the Saviours' outpost under the impression that it was their proper base, hence why they attacked it the way they did. Why were they still preparing for attack and ambush? And if they didn't actually think that was the base, why attack it without finding out more?

MargotLovedTom · 05/04/2016 10:27

I thought that as well - where was Jesus? He hasn't been seen for the last couple of episodes. Those chained up walkers had Michonne and Darryl's leather waistcoats on as well so that didn't help.

I was annoyed at the bit when Morgan shot that Saviour and saved Carol - surely they would've heard him clippy clopping up on his horse? Unless it's a ninja horse who can creep around stealthily when necessary Wink.

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 05/04/2016 10:32

Wasn't Edith in a cupboard with guns? She could just shoot at the handle.

Why didn't Rick and everyone just shoot the first lot of roadblockers?

They've taken a fair few out though.

I don't think they've become the bad guys. I think it's just a natural outcome. Kill or be killed.

Monroe · 05/04/2016 11:09

Enid not Edith! Sorry

Coral has certainly shot up. I noticed as they were walking through the woods how tall he is, almost same height as Rick now.

The saviours must have a based nearby so how have the Alexandrians managed to escape them so far? They seem to have control over any other settlements in the area. They still all seem to be wandering around the same patch of woodland / train tracks and small towns as the last few series

AgainstTheGlock · 05/04/2016 11:19

Margot - not only that but it was shod. You'd have thought a farrier had more to worry about. Wink

ElderlyKoreanLady · 05/04/2016 11:36

Didn't Eugene say the Hilltop is 23 miles away? I'd presume he meant that was the quickest route. I'd also wager a bet that Hilltop is the nearest of the settlements and that the Saviours' proper base is at least 10 miles further away. Easy enough for it to take the Saviours a while to find Alexandria as they'd have to fairly safely cover a 30-40 mile radius, bringing new people back periodically while also maintaining all their settlements.
