I think Carol will be back.
I liked this episode very much, and really enjoyed all the slightly heavy-handed emphasis on growing up, leaving innocence behind, and personal development. Poor Denise though, and what a muppet for risking her own life -now they have no doctor. I would say that a doctor would be up there in the top five assets in Alexandria, and it was stupid for her to go outside the walls.
I totally buy the Carol Turnaround. I can imagine that out there, on the road, living in a state of constant fear and high-alert, it would be easy to make life and death decisions, act quickly, and be ruthless.
But once back behind safe walls, once she had a chance to relax, drop her guard and reflect on the horrors that she had seen and participated in, I can see that it would be incredibly difficult to live with. And once those stress levels have reduced, how could she ever be that person again?
I love the fact that she is so nuanced, rather than a flat, 2D character like some of them
