Don't watch this often and tonight's was cringey in the extreme.
Anyone else watch it?
Peter threw others out at end as had a mega strop at coming last.
Ooh err.....

stopfaffing yes, I've wondered about the fallout for him to. He works in sales, I think? I'd imagine image and the way you present yourself are very important, so him losing it with several tantrums on TV can't be the best career move ever. Although I bet his customers are having a laugh!

Agatha, I suspect that he probably behaves like that with other people he knows, no one who knows him will be surprised I'd guess.

hummus, I suspect that he said off camera some pretty bad stuff to Charlotte and the young guy. I was not at all surprised at the low scores. Credit to Jane not taking it personally though and scoring fairly.

Notimefortossers · 06/01/2016 13:09

This episode is actually trending on fb! See I actually felt sorry for him at his dinner table when Jane started into him, because actually at that point I don't think he deserved it and he looked like he was gonna cry . . . but whoah! Bye the end it didn't really matter whether he deserved it or not!! What a tool!

His food did look the best though and I think the blonde and the american just didn't have very sophisticated palettes.

I think his comment to Charlotte about there being 'no one in their love' when she wasn't even involved and had been perfectly nice to him was completely vile and made me physically gasp!

What a dick that man was.....bet he's a charmer to know in person. Showing off like a child because he didn't win. Tosser.

Just caught up with this. I thought Peter's beef looked pretty horrible, I would hate to have to wrestle with all that fat. The salad looked nice but it's not something that takes a whole lot of effort, and goat's cheese is always going to be a bit of a risk.

I also thought that Jane was pretty unpleasant, but Peter's reaction was way over the top. I thought she was trying to explain that his manner made him seem pompous but not that he actually was, but as soon as she said anything that sounded critical he simply couldn't handle it and wouldn't listen any more. Although he wasn't necessarily rude to people's faces, the comments he made about all three to camera - e.g. Adam's food looking like a pile of vomit - were extremely rude and in fact inaccurate, and he must have known there was a strong possibility that they would hear those comments when the programme was shown.

What was most telling was the the low scores the other two gave. They obviously saw much more than we did, and therefore I suspect there was a whole lot more that made the evening very painful to sit through.

I watched it again last night (my 10 year old wanted to see it, having heard all about it from me and my husband).

Jane made 2 rude comments to Peter before he kicked off; the pie comment (which was out of order) and cringing at his milk mustache at the American's dinner party.

The Victoria Beckham comment came next.

Peter opened the hunting season at his party by asking if anyone's impression of him had changed, and Jane pounced.

theredlion · 09/01/2016 14:52

I've only just seen this on catch up.

I agree Jane was unpleasant but Peter handled it incredibly badly, I didn't like either of them.
I thought the other two were lovely.

NickNackNooToYou · 10/01/2016 06:07

Just watched this, things you do when you can't sleep.

Unbelievable, Peter needs to grow up, whether or not Jane was goading him there is no need to behave like that. He was like a spoilt brat. I agree that he did seem to put Jane on a pedestal and totally discounted the other two contestants, that's why I think he totally over reacted. I wonder how his wife feels about that?

I do think being a police officer had a lot to do with the fact it just seemed to wash over her and she didn't retaliate. Bet she's come across a lot worse.

Best CDWM ever, I wonder what his neighbours thought when there was a film crew and people swigging out of a champagne bottle at the end of the night Grin

I think Jane was horrible and an expert at passive aggression.

I would go as far as to say she's a bully.

Elllicam · 10/01/2016 07:36

I agree Jane was passive aggressive, saying nasty things then sitting back with a smug little smile. I thought her comment to Adam that he looked like beaker could have easily been taken as offensive if he hadn't been so easygoing. That said I think Peter was a nasty bully, it's just that he was a bully with poor self control whereas Jane was much more subtle.
