Don't watch this often and tonight's was cringey in the extreme.
Anyone else watch it?
Peter threw others out at end as had a mega strop at coming last.
Ooh err.....

I saw the second half of this yesterday and thought it was hilarious. Not least because he was blaming Jane for his 'losing' whereas she gave him a very generous, in the circumstances, 7 points.

AppleSetsSail · 05/01/2016 11:21

He looked astounded at cheerful blondes summary of cheese and her preferences.

I really loved her comment. CDWM often features runaway affectations and all Happy Blond had to say about cheese was: 'I like cheddar; I like Babybel'. She was hilarious (at times unintentionally, I think).

AppleSetsSail · 05/01/2016 11:21

Oh, she stole the high road with her score. What a clever lady.

TheFairyCaravan · 05/01/2016 11:27

Jane is anasty cow imo. She was horrible to him from the get go. She started it all and was spoiling for a fight. Turning on him, in his house and ruining his night, was plain nasty. Yes, he took it too far at the end but she wasn't blameless at all.

AppleSetsSail · 05/01/2016 11:32

Nasty cow, really? I thought she merely made a few poorly-judged comments.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 05/01/2016 11:32

I caught some of it - whilst the American guy was hosting. He was an interesting character I thought - very enthusiastic about his offerings which was sweet - and why not!
Sorry I missed the end now, it sounds very entertaining
I love CDWM and often watch with the DC. It generally makes quite easy and entertaining viewing.
We (DC and I) can never get over how easily and often people fall out though.
I mean all they have to do is go round for a meal in each other's homes over the course of the week.
How hard can it be?!
DD once organised her own CDWM week with a few friends which was fun.
Surprisingly they got through a whole week without falling out with each other, even though they are teenagers!

maybebabybee · 05/01/2016 11:39

I didn't think she was very nice either to be honest but he made himself look 100,000 times worse with the way he behaved at the end.

ImperialBlether · 05/01/2016 11:43

I think I saw a different programme to everyone else! That policewoman was absolutely horrible and deserved everything she got!

TheFairyCaravan · 05/01/2016 11:43

Yes, a nasty cow. She made a remark about "eating all the pies" within minutes of meeting him. That's not "poorly-judged" that's nasty. She started as she meant to go on.

ItsANewDayToday · 05/01/2016 11:44

Janet's comments sound like they were a lot worse than a few poorly chosen comments and giving the stroppy guy a high mark was probably NOTHING to do with taking the high moral ground and a lot to do with being manipulative and game playing.

Calling someone fat when you first meet is outrageous. Shock

It sounds like she knew exactly what she was doing which puts her in the 'nasty cow' category in my opinion.

The stroppy guy was a pratt though.

(Disclaimer, I still haven't watched it Wink )

AgathaF · 05/01/2016 12:00

Jane was inapporpriate with her comments, and particularly starting the week with a comment about his weight. That said, he didn't have to get so defensive and aggresive over it. He could have just laughed it off which would have made her look far worse over the course of the week.

Unbelievable ending though. Him standing there shaking his head at Jane as he read out that he'd come last, as though he was admonishing a naughty child. Didn't even read out what place the others came in either, as though they were completely unimportant (which they were to him obviously).

Bakeoffcake · 05/01/2016 12:13

I only watched the first half then had to go out. I think I'll watch the rest now,

The worst funniest ending I remember was the woman who, when reading out the results and finding she was last, started shouting at the others "oh no, that's not right, you've done that deliberately, I was much better than you and you!"Shock Grin her cooking was shit

Bakeoffcake · 05/01/2016 12:19

It must have been bad! The story's in the DM now. I wonder how Peter feels about thatGrin

smudger4 · 05/01/2016 12:20

To be fair to the guy, the police woman was not a nice person. I thought she was very spiteful telling the American that she thought he looked like Beaker from the Muppets. Peter quickly chipped in that he thought she looked like Victoria Beckham Grin . All in all he handled it badly, the worst bit for me was when he was having a pop at her at the end and the blonde said she 'didn't get it' and he said something like 'well you wouldn't would you? lets face it, there's nothing in there.' that fucking creased me Smile

cricketballs · 05/01/2016 12:24

twitter was very funny; Adam Mastroianni's (the american) tweets were very funny whilst he also remained polite about the whole episode @ammastroianni

knobblyknee · 05/01/2016 12:36

Did you see the one where pudding was a raw banana, demerara sugar and squirty cream? Bless him he thought he was Jamie Oliver.

Bakeoffcake · 05/01/2016 12:38

I do remember the banana puddingGrin

Bakeoffcake · 05/01/2016 12:40

Tbh some of these contestants would make great documentary subjects.

ImperialBlether · 05/01/2016 12:41

The woman who fell asleep when she was supposed to be cooking on CDWM died a while ago. She was an alcoholic and committed suicide. Very sad - watching that episode when you know what her future was, was very poignant. Apologies for DM link.

redjoker · 05/01/2016 12:47

Even the DM are on to it!

Come Dine...

oldmum22 · 05/01/2016 12:48

I have just watched this on catch up and I think Peter behaved very badly . He clearly had no idea on how to react to a strong woman ,when she made the comment on first meeting him , he could have come back with a witty retort. Adam and the blonde girl were lovely and I was very pleased to see that they did not reward bad behaviour. I liked Jane ,and I thought if Peter had said something like "well that's your opinion" or similar, then the whole bad atmosphere could have been avoided. As for his badmouthing at the end, Jane has probably heard worse ,working on a Friday night. I am glad that I watched the whole episode and not just the FB bit I received this morning.

Destinysdaughter · 05/01/2016 12:48

I know someone who was on a CDWM once and he said the woman who came last was so pissed off that she stormed out and the producers had to persuade her to come back and refilm the big reveal!

He also said he was contacted by the producers and asked which 3 types of people he'd least like to spend an evening with. And sure enough, that's who was on it with him!

Notimefortossers · 05/01/2016 12:54

I neeeeeeeeeeed to see this!

redjoker · 05/01/2016 12:56

Once saw a woman chucking her guts up in our local supermarket- turns out it was the last day of her appearance on the show- said she couldn't stand to eat anymore :/

FairyDustDreamer · 05/01/2016 13:07

The who ate all the pies comment was unpleasant though.
Rude rather than sign of being a strong woman I thought.
