Am enjoying it so far. Very intriguing
premise and beautifully shot. I don't mind subtitles, find they make me concentrate more and am very interested in this period of history. Looking forward to see how it develops...anyone else? ( guess most of you are watching War and Peace tonight!)

Watching The Big Questions at talking about the Snooper's Charter so made me think of this thread. Interesting point in Stasiland was that if the Stasi approached you to snoop and you refused - nothing happened to you. But, of course, you'd never know that at the time.

I'm watching Weissensee at the moment - interestingly they threaten someone's children to get her to inform. I'm not so sure that there was no comeback if someone refused to be an informer.

I watched Goodbye Lenin a few weeks ago after Deutschland 83 finished. I am somewhat surprised to see it's a 6+ in the German version but a 15 rating on the English subtitled version!

Filming has started for Deutschland 86!

Brilliant news re '86. I think it's been picked up by Amazon rather than ITV/BBC or the like. That's what I read on Facebook anyway (hope it's untrue).
