Nickel sorry you can't have CJ, I need him here. Where is he anyway? BK what are you doing with him, or can we guess?

I'm only frightened of frogs. My Mum was always terrified of spiders. I can actually pick them up with my bare hands though with the really big ones, I tend to trap them in a glass.

If the ill cat across the road isn't enough of a problem, I found the head of a mouse in the lounge when I came back. No idea where the rest of it is - hopefully the cats have eaten it - but it will have to wait till tomorrow when I hoover up as I am so tired.

MaddieMoo82 · 17/12/2015 22:24

nickel I'm always worried they'll crawl back out when you turn the Hoover off Shock

Got a little telling off by GP for giving DS calpol when he didn't need it.... Thought it was a right of passage in littles! Confused

Nickel45 · 17/12/2015 22:30

I made DH go and empty it straight in the bin mads!!! He wasn't impressed! But still did it, just hoping it was in there. Since having the kids I've amazed myself with the things I've touched (giant millipedes, cockroaches, snakes, etc. ) but just cannot do spiders. I can deal with them if needs be, but hate them!

BK that sounds fab, hoping for snow for you ... You aren't camping, are you?

ilove, sorry you've had a crappy evening, hopefully your neighbour will realised what a great friend you are being. Xx

MaddieMoo82 · 17/12/2015 22:38

nickel luckily MrMads likes to save all living things so is more than happy to release them into the world and away from me wielding Henry Hoover

Ooh hope your cat has eaten the rest of the mouse ilove so you don't find the rest of it in your house.

BK28 · 17/12/2015 23:06

ilove don't worry he is quite safe. The Spa experience has left me refreshed and re -energised so we are actively engaging in some creative exercise. At least he will have earnt his rest when I return him to the Royal Crescent on Christmas Eve - MrBK has already discussed the Expedition Van packing with CJ and they both got very excited about logistics, the discussion also very quickly got onto low slung powerful sports cars, with Mr BK becoming very jealous about the machines that CJ has been travelling in!!

Yugh! dead things is the main reason why we have never done pets in this house .. I know my DS was a deprived child!

maddie have to agree Calpol is a rite of passage for both Mother and Child!!

nickel no panic - it is most definitely indoor camping - beds duvets and hot running water - luxury this year - normally sleeping bags on the floor!!

orphan · 18/12/2015 07:29

Thank fwank it's last day of school!

House is an absolute bombs site with a fully decorated tree resplendent in the midst of the chaos. Had to buy new lights (which almost proved the last straw after the trauma of getting the tree vertical ) and nearly gave us all migraines with the strobe lighting effect which we spent ages trying to turn off. Why oh why do they have all these bonkers settings?

Hope all littlies are holding up today. Flowers

pixieg1rl · 18/12/2015 07:51

Something must be up with DS, he forgot to open his advent calendar this morning and had to be reminded.

Ilovelblue · 18/12/2015 08:30

Feeling sorry for myself today as I feel as if I've swallowed broken glass. Was awake half the night with a sore throat. Will leave work as soon as is decently possible tonight.

MaddieMoo82 · 18/12/2015 08:34

Oh no pixie that's not good. Did he want to eat it when you reminded him?
Think I've made DS worse trying to wrestle the inhaler mask on his face Hmm
Have a good last day orph

cjwoofwoof · 18/12/2015 08:59

Oh no pix forgetting the advent calendar choc is not a good sign. My youngest DS wanted to eat the dog's Good Boy choc robin this morning as well as his own human choc candle so I'm assuming he's still fit and healthy for the last day at school or at least he toddled off with his tail wagging

Forgot to mention my lovely stag purchases from Sainsburys yesterday, now taking pride of place by the fire with my Chief Spider Eater in front on her new Christmas present blanket. Their fine horns certainly give this old Doris fond memories of that other splendid OG stag specimen - wonder whatever happened to him Xmas Confused ??!!

MaddieMoo82 · 18/12/2015 10:17

Oh nice stags woof
ilove hope you feel better.
Off to get some aldi plonk as it was top rated on some Xmas bargain thing on bbc1 last night. DP might turn his nose up so might remove the labels Grin

BK28 · 18/12/2015 10:55

Maddie of greater importance is the way it slips down the throat not the labels!!

love that image orph sounds bit like BK Hall, except we just have the chaos and nowhere to put the tree - but I do have a wonderful wooden arch candle thing in the window. Thinking about it that might be the total deco we go for this year!!

Sounds like some form of hot toddy could be called for ilove just for soothing the throat!! hope you feel better soon!! Flowers

kuiakaituhi · 18/12/2015 12:03

Woof, twank will be very useful, thank you. Have already identified a possible recipient of the word, in noun form, as in "Percival (not his real name, but I'm sure it would apply if it were him)is a right twank"

Of course, the other usage is in the verb form eg "Percival caused much consternation with his persistent twanking under the dinner table"

Which usage is preferable, Woof? Tell me, pray, is "foff" in common usage in Great Britain? Very useful when giving people directions to other places. Has proved particularly useful with a bank manager and a headmaster recently.

cjwoofwoof · 18/12/2015 12:25

Actually kuia you've made a slight error in pronunciation/typo, however, I think I prefer twank to my own fwank as far as the twanking under the table is concerned - more of a verb I'd say. Whereas a fwank could be more applied to the bank manager and/or headmaster as in You, Sir, I'm afraid are a complete fwank. Although it has to be said I need to foff straight away and finish my Christmas wrapping before the little bleeders appear at 1.30 for another soul-destroying two week break.

PS. Absolutely loving your Sohail story - brilliant reading - now foff and write chapter 3 {fwink} oops I mean Xmas Wink

MaddieMoo82 · 18/12/2015 14:31

kelly you must be done with the school/nursery run now for 2 weeks. Yay Xmas Smile

Aldi had sold out of the plonk but managed do get some from another one a bit further away.... Seems the programme was popular.
The dog has just disturbed some guy in a bush in the woods wearing a pink dress.... I'm not sure I what to think about what he was up too.... Shock

Ilovelblue · 18/12/2015 14:44

Interested to know what the wine is Maddie. Red or white and what name?

Richtea19 · 18/12/2015 15:10

mads how strange, bet that gave you a fright!
I saw that program last night about the Aldo plonk. We like the M&S cava. It's about 10.00 a bottle but normally get when its on an offer. It's very dry and just like the real stuff.

I've been wrapping all afternoon and I'm so bored already. I've given up for today but the next job is ironing :( needs all to be done as MIL over later to look after boys while we away for weekend. Boys have disappeared and arranged sleepovers for tomorrow.... The wrath of nanny!

Ilovelblue · 18/12/2015 15:39

Don't know if I mentioned it last week when we drew our raffle, but somebody won a bottle of Bollinger champagne. He said to one of his colleagues that it was cheap stuff and best diluted with liqueur. I pointed out it was £40+ per bottle (though I had bought it on special offer for £26). What an idiot. Clearly no taste whatsoever.

icemistOBE · 18/12/2015 16:07

School done for another year! One more day at work (tomorrow) before Christmas [santa]

Full of a cold, so stuffing myself with mince pies and cream.

Ilovelblue · 18/12/2015 16:12

When I was in Tesco at lunchtime, I got chatted up by a fellow customer who asked me if I wanted him to be my personal shopper. It was all because I asked him to reach a bottle of wine from the shelf for me as I couldn't reach. Had he been a CJ lookalike, I would have said yes, but he bore no resemblance whatsoever though clearly he had long arms to reach the bottle!

ice there are so many bugs doing the rounds at the moment. I am feeling very sorry for myself as well.

Ilovelblue · 18/12/2015 16:33

Richtea enjoy York! Hope the weather is ok for you.

MaddieMoo82 · 18/12/2015 17:20

Sorry when I said plonk ilove was referring to bubbles. It's a cava brut called contevedo for just over £4 a bottle. They pitted it in a blind test against lots of privy champers etc and it did really well.

rich have an amazing time in York. Bet it will be lovely. Yeah dress wearing man did give me a fright, but I think he had a worse when when my dog stuck her head up his dress Shock. He ran off!

MaddieMoo82 · 18/12/2015 17:21

*pricey not privy!

pixieg1rl · 18/12/2015 18:17

Excellent work by the dog mads!

MaddieMoo82 · 18/12/2015 20:44

She likes to be where the action is pix
