Anita's Paso was stunningly expressive with the correct facial expression too - no ugly grimace. She seemed a natural for that dance. Her length of dress concealed her legs and footwork, but did just notice one flick back that had a floppy foot which should have been pointed.

Young blond man reminds me of the original Chippendales without the undulating, sensual antics on the floor underneath a sheet - phewGrin

I too am interested to see Anton's Charleston, I'm suspecting it'll be an unholy mess.

Anton and Katie have been gone easy on as it's the year of Anton lucky in that they got to do all the dances that Anton is not so great at in the first half of the series while all the duffers were still around to keep them out of the DO, and now in the second half of the series have had all the slower dances and classic ballroom that's his forte.

MrsJamin · 07/12/2015 16:49

My favourites were Denise van outens charleston, Vincent and Rachel Stevens rumba, Louis 's showdance, karaoke and artems argentine tango, Jason Donovan' s American smooth and jay's jive. I think this series has actually been quite poor for memorable dances.

GlitteryRollers · 07/12/2015 16:50

That blond man looks a bit like Derek Hough from Dancing with the Stars, it's not him but there is a likeness. There have been so many rumours swirling around saying that he's joining Strictly over the years, but it's never happened.

I think Anton is a prick. My DM loves him though, I think ladies of a certain vintage do. His Latin is always reminiscenent of a drunk dad dancing at a wedding reception.

MrsJamin · 07/12/2015 16:50

Karaoke = kara!

Fiderer · 07/12/2015 18:36

ITT - blimey Helen clutching on to Aljaz.

I didn't like the male dancer dancing in jeans during the Lion King dance, or J? It looked wrong ?!?!?

MiniCooperLover · 07/12/2015 18:57

Sorry, I meant the male dancers, not just one in particular

digerd · 07/12/2015 19:20

I feel sorry for Helen but she did not improve. Her stiffness/uprightness from her ballet training worked against her for the latin especially.

I looked forward to a transformation in her dancing every week but it just didn't happen.

I loved Georgia's Foxtrot on the night but in the DO it lacked its magic and became boring.

Clayhead · 07/12/2015 19:29

Darren and Lilia, so lovely to see them Smile

morningtoncrescent62 · 07/12/2015 20:44

I thought there were far too many 'other' dancers on the floor on Saturday cluttering things up. I've been a Helen fan so far - I didn't enjoy her paso on Saturday, but between a soundtrack that really didn't have a paso feeling, and the need to dodge the crowds on the floor, she didn't have a lot going for her. I'm finding Bruno irritating this year. I think he's overdoing the eccentricity.

My favourite dances ever are Caroline & Pasha's charleston, Scott and Natalie's jive (he was another who went out far too soon), Sophie and Brendan's Viennese waltz, and Mark and Karen's salsa. For comedy value, does anyone else remember Julian Clary doing the paso with Erin? I've never been able to find it on youtube - it was a classic IMO.

TheDrsDocMartens · 07/12/2015 20:58

Bollocks I've just realised dh & I are both working final night Sad

Fizrim · 07/12/2015 21:50

I'm glad someone else has mentioned Scott and Natalie's jive (I was watching this last week on youtube) as I think it was underrated. Liked Austin's jive as well, also watched Jill and Darren last week - I'd forgotten how good it was.

Lovely to see Darren and Lilia again. Darren was always brilliant at coming up with suitable choreography for his celebrities IMO.

ChoccyJules · 07/12/2015 22:11

Did you notice in the clip when Anita put Gleb's jacket on him, Darcey is standing up (straining for a better view or just very excited?!)?

Dipankrispaneven · 07/12/2015 22:13

Oh yes, Scott and Natalie's jive was brilliant - fantastic combination of storyline, dance and acting. Wasn't he a victim of the Eastenders' thing of giving their Strictly contestant big storylines? I seem to remember he basically ran out of energy.

Dipankrispaneven · 07/12/2015 22:14

Doesn't someone else normally do the Charleston choreography? It won't be left solely to Anton.

CaveMum · 07/12/2015 22:21

See I'm old skool Wink IMHO, you can't top Jill and Darren's Jive or Mark and Karen's AT.

It says a lot that it took until the Final of Series 2 before anyone scored 40, now it seems a given that the Finalists will get at least one

FranKubelik · 07/12/2015 22:39

The dance I like to re watch is Brendan and Lisa's show dance - always cheers me up.

flightywoman · 07/12/2015 22:43

I'm voting for Anita because I like her. And to be honest, Gleb doesn't do much for me. Joe Varney, OTOH, he could dance me to next week if he liked!

I like Anita's presenting style, I like her 'story', her recent Who Do You Think You Are was really interesting and moving, and I think she is putting her all into it - I do like the others and will really be happy with whoever wins now, but I just really like Anita and would so love for her to win!

I've never watched it before, but the 8 year old daughter loves it so we are all keen fans now...

Redcrayons · 07/12/2015 23:41

The dance I like to re watch is Brendan and Lisa's show dance - always cheers me up. one of my favourites for all the wrong reasons Grin

ppeatfruit · 08/12/2015 06:37

Expletive , expletive Xmas Grin we had a power cut in the middle of ITT last night could anyone let me know who were the 2 talking on the couch at the end please? (when power was restored) did I miss anything else?

AnyoneButSanta · 08/12/2015 07:08

It was Darren Bennett and Lilya Kopylova (sp?) - power couple victors of seasons 2 and 3.

AnyoneButSanta · 08/12/2015 07:09

And Monkseal's fiancé was one of the talking heads at the beginning.

sandgrown · 08/12/2015 07:35

Lewis Smith was my all time favourite . Annie Clancy was so graceful and John Sargeant' s Paso Doble was the funniest dance.

ppeatfruit · 08/12/2015 07:54

Thanks AnyoneBut I only started watching SCD in 2011. (spellbound by the lovely Harry ) The hysteria of the audience put me off before!
