I love Anton, but I'm still surprised they're surviving so long. I think next week will be the end for them. I do t think the charlston will go well.

I'm confused, in other years there have been 4 couples in the semis (see Wikipedia), but this year there are 5, so does it mean two couples leave next week? They can't have four couples in the final?

Yes they're planning on having 4 couples in the final.

3 is probably the ideal number but in the years when they planned it to have 3 there were a succession of drop outs leading to years with only 2 finalists which leads to a not great final with knackered contestants. And once you've had one drop out then the terror that you'll have another freak drop out and a one contestant final takes years off the producers' lives.

So now they plan for 4, and if there's a drop out it's absolutely fine, and even if there are two drop outs it would be survivable. Sod's law means there haven't been any for years now of course.

Ah I see! It will be a really long show! I know they stop at least once to boot someone (or two this year?) out before the show dances but still that's a lot. We've got an immovable family Christmas thing on that evening :( so I'll have to have a social media blackout until I watch it the next morning!

I thought they always (recently anyway) had 4 in the final, losing one to public vote after the first dance.

Yeah, they've had 4 in the final for the last couple of years, though IIRC it's sometimes split over two nights. Last year they all did one of their old dances plus the showdance, then there was a vote and one person (Mark?) got kicked off, then the last three did their final (old) dance.

I want K&K to leave. Purely for their annoyance factor. Which is unfair of me

In the back of my mind, I have it that the semi final is just decided on public votes so no dance off and no judges decision - is that correct? Or is the semi final the last opportunity for 'manipulation' to ensure they have who they want in the final??

I think Kellie will go next. I don't think the public are connecting with her. Georgia being in the DO was just a blip I'm sure.

Sophie EB was the 4th finalist in 2013, being voted off by the public after the first dance. It meant we didn't get to see her Charleston again. I remember she was in the Charleston costume when voted off.

Hmmmm, at times like this I'm wont to shout out "They're making a TV show!" So fairness and justice take second place to telling a good story and attracting viewing figures.

The cynic in me thinks they will be engineering it for Anton to win, and possibly replace Len. But I think Jay and A have the combination of decent dancing plus public support, so I hope they win.

I LOVED the dance that Anton and Kristina?? did to to Josh Grobins' (sp)? song, he seemed to really enjoy himself.

Look closer at that Wiki page MrsJammin. There are 4 contestants in Part 1 of the final for the last 3 years, then they ditch one and have 3 contestants in Part 2 of the final.

Anton is a traditional Ballroom dancer; you can see him in a penguin suit saluting to his powder puffed dressed partner!! With whole lines of other dancers completely the same !!

Anita gets lots of votes because she isn't a trained dancer and puts her whole heart into it. By god she is now an amazing dancer!! SHE'S BEEN ON A JOURNEY !!!!!!! She is not a big mouth.

She also has a hot partner Xmas Wink

I expect Kellie, Jay and Georgia to shine at the musical theatre numbers because they have extensive dance training.

Anita has not - but she has natural ability and uses that to give a routine her all. She reminds me of Mark Ramprakash, who is my favourite Strictly winner, hands-down.

If the choreography isn't up to scratch or doesn't have the correct steps, that's Gleb's fault, not hers.

I think it's difficult to tell who will go home this week. I don't think it will be Anita though. I do think Kellie could end up in the dance off again. Not sure about Katie and Anton, they will be at the bottom of the leaderboard I'm sure, but they may get the public vote.

Tom Chambers pretended to be an amateur, but no beginner could do a tap routine like the one that was in his show dance.
